APERÇU DU PROJET
La Maison des artistes visuels invite les artistes professionnels canadiens à présenter des propositions pour trois nouvelles sculptures qui s’ajouteront au Jardin de sculptures dont l’élaboration a commencé en 2009 et qui est une initiative de La Maison des artistes visuels, située à Saint-Boniface, au Manitoba. Le Jardin comprend déjà des œuvres des artistes suivants : Michel de Broin (2009), Marcel Gosselin (2009), Madeleine Vrignon (2010), Joseph (Joe) Fafard (2011).

Les dossiers de proposition complets doivent parvenir au plus tard  Nouvelle date  le 9 septembre 2011 à 16 h (date limite de réception, et non date du cachet de la poste).

Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography is a non-profit artist-run centre committed to photography as a multi faceted and ever-changing art form. We encourage the submission of exhibition proposals from emerging, mid-career and established artists and curators who are innovative in their use of materials and approach to subject matter. Gallery 44 views photography within the larger context of contemporary artistic practices and relevant cultural issues in today’s society.
Submission Guidelines
Please submit the following by mail (Gallery 44 does not accept submissions by fax or email):
1. 10-12 images representing a recent body of work or a specific project. Image files should be no more than 1024 pixels wide and formatted for MAC. Time-based work should be in DVD format. Please do not send original work and do not use CD sticker labels.
2. An image list indicating title, year, medium and dimensions.
3. An artist’s statement, curatorial statement, or other written description.
4. A physical description of the proposed exhibition, including the number of works, the space required, equipment needed and/or provided, and any unusual installation requirements.
5. A curriculum vitae, resume or biography of the artist(s) and/or curator (including all artists if it is a curated exhibition). And any other supporting material you would like to include (web links, reviews, catalogues, etc.)
6. A self-addressed envelope (SASE) with sufficient return postage. Without an SASE we will not return submission packages and will dispose of submission materials appropriately.

Gallery 44 welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with other arts and community organizations. Please contact us to discuss your project. 
Gallery 44 gives priority to works that have not been exhibited in Toronto.

Call for Submission: Artistic Design Concept Competition
St. Paul’s University College is now accepting submissions for a foyer finishing design in the College’s new wing. Below is a summary. For the full proposal and to find out more about St. Paul’s University College please visit our website: http://www.stpauls.uwaterloo.ca.
This artistic design concept competition provides an award prize of $7500 (plus HST). In addition, the College has established a budget of $25,000 for all costs related to the implementation of the award winning design. Concept proposals should take into account the implementation budget.
About St. Paul’s University College
St. Paul’s leads the University of Waterloo’s efforts to attract and support Aboriginal students, and increase the University community’s understanding and respect for Aboriginal history, culture, values and perspectives. In addition, the College operates programs aimed at increasing high school graduation and postsecondary enrolment rates among Aboriginal youth.
Recently, the College built a new wing for several purposes. Among these purposes is a dedicated space for its work in Aboriginal education. The College wishes to express through the artistic design of the entrance foyer to the wing a commitment to carrying out its work in a spirit of right relations and harmonious partnership with Aboriginal communities and educators.
Eligibility
This art competition is only open to Aboriginal artists who reside in Canada or to artist teams which have as one member, a status or non-status Aboriginal person resident in Ontario.
Context
The location for this artwork will be the entrance foyer (and/or the area immediately outside the entrance doors) of the new wing at St. Paul’s University College, 190 Westmount Road North, Waterloo, ON. Artists are encouraged to visit the site and the wing to understand the opportunities and limitations for the artistic design concept.
This competition is intended for Canadian Aboriginal artists/designers and has the following conditions:
1.    Applies only to the entrance foyer (and area immediately outside the entrance foyer doors) of the new wing;
2.    Preferably should incorporate the appropriate display of three (3) 8-foot totems carved by Aboriginal west coast carvers donated to the College in 2010.
3.    Should express awareness of and respect for the historic Aboriginal peoples of Canada and, in particular, of the peoples of south west Ontario in which the College and University are located;
The competition is intended to result in a detailed design concept for a specific space. The detailed design may involve the use and arrangement of finishing materials that achieve the message and meaning described above, or the design may involve new original artwork by the artist, or both. It will be up to the artist/designer to decide
•    If the design concept will include one or more pieces of original artwork,
•    What the media of such artwork will be, and
•    Whether the artist/designer will create the proposed artwork or have it done by others.
Submission Requirements for Stage 1
•    One 8.5″x11″ page sketch of the concept for the artwork
•    One 8.5″x11″ page accompanying statement which expresses the concept in words
•    Up to 15 photos of recent, relevant, representative work submitted in one of the following forms:
•    (a) Printed photos,
•    (b) Images on a CD,
•    (c) JPEG images transmitted electronically
•    All images must be accompanied by descriptions, locations, dates, and creative responsibility
•    Curriculum vitae to a maximum length of three pages
At the commencement of this competition, artists are asked to submit only those items requested for stage one. If selected by the jury to proceed to stage 2, artists will be notified and the detailed requirements will be requested. For more information on stage 2 submissions please see full proposal.
Selection Process
The Selection Process will encompass two stages. The first stage submission will be reviewed by a jury who will select up to three shortlisted artists who will be invited to develop detailed proposals. If the proposed design includes new artwork by the artist/designer, a maquette of the artwork must be included at the second stage. NOTE: Artists will not be reimbursed for any costs relating to submission in stage 1.
The second stage submission is by invitation only and is a detailed proposal which, if appropriate, includes a maquette, a detailed budget, maintenance requirements, and associated drawings and/or samples. Please see full proposal for further details.

Les lieux de présentation dans les trois villes sont notamment le Centre Pompidou à Paris, la Haus der Kulturen der Welt à Berlin, le Musée National Reina Sofia et la Cinémathèque Espagnole à Madrid.

jardin potager, idéale pour travailler et méditer.
Il s’agit d’un grand appartement de 180m dans une maison ancienne (1888‐1909)
qui forme partie du patrimoine de la ville de Barcelone.
La maison depuis le jardin de plantes et la rue Asturias, le premier étage est l’espace de résidence.

NOTRE PHILOSOPHIE
Le concept du projet est inspirée de la tradition arabe Jiwar, mot qui littéralement
signifie Voisinage. Jiwar se réfère à l’art d’établir une relation créative et durable
entre voisins. Au delà de ce sens immédiat Jiwar évoque une philosophie de vie qui
consiste à voisiner les valeurs et à jeter des passerelles entre les expériences.
Jiwar s’intéresse aux artistes et chercheurs qui placent leur travail et leurs
méthodes sur les lignes de frontière entre les cultures et les disciplines. La priorité
est donnée aux projets artistiques et sociaux qui confrontent et explorent les
enjeux de l’interculturalité et de l’interdisciplinarité. Les activités de la Résidence
sont ouvertes à notre voisinage. Les artistes sont invités à partager une partie de
leur travail avec les habitants de Gracia dans le cadre de rencontres, lectures ou
ateliers à l’air libre dans le jardin.

Présentation autour de l’importance historique et rituelle du henné au Pakistan (mehndi) et au
Maroc (activité organisée avec l’Association Socioculturelle Ibn Batuta, juillet 2011). Atelier
d’architecture créative pour enfants organisé avec Arquikids (juin 2011).
Le jardin potager et le jardin de plantes
CANDIDATURES

4‐ Un écrit (pas plus d’une page) où soit expliqué le projet que l’artiste pense faire
pendant sa résidence à Jiwar.

Appel à projet pour 1 résidence en 2012 : Commune de Bizanos (64)

Le Bel Ordinaire, espace d’art contemporain est l’un des outils de développement culturel de la Communauté d’Agglomération Pau-Pyrénées. Pour que chacun puisse éprouver, intégrer et s’approprier une représentation personnelle de l’art et de la culture, le Bel Ordinaire favorise et provoque des rencontres entre artistes en démarche et habitants. Depuis 2006, nous avons accueilli et accompagné 31 résidences d’artistes (spectacle vivants, arts visuels, musique).

Depuis 2009, recentrant nos activités autour de l’art contemporain, nous avons invité neuf artistes à occuper l’espace public afin de poser un regard singulier sur le territoire de l’agglomération, de l’interroger et de le bousculer dans sa stabilité apparente, d’en révéler l’invisible et de découvrir des chemins de traverse.

En 2012, ces invitations se poursuivent, elles sont lancées conjointement par la Communauté d’Agglomération Pau-Pyrénées et deux des quatorze communes la constituant : Lons et Bizanos.
