For the Parallaxe project, Brigitte Dion explores the spaces between the sky and the earth, a visual horizon but also a space that opens itself to reflection. Her mosaic, inspired from the same extraordinary luminosity and coloring that are found on her canvasses, appeals to the diverse life forms that link earth and sky. Between these two spaces, Brigitte Dion creates a menagerie that is both symbolic and spiritual – fish, creatures of the water associated with fertility and birth; a flock of birds – symbol of the spiritual connection between sky and earth; and dragonflies, migratory beings, with their long, fragile wings and forked tails, that live in both spaces during their short lives. The need to touch, to share and to evoke is evident in all her works.
