Jean Denis Boudreau is interested in the imaginary,
the disguised. He works with sculpture and print but his training
in animation brings an aesthetic borne of the comic strip. For
the Parallaxe project, the artist explores the angle underneath
the bridge, an area that is not visited often, but where an entire
subculture exists, armed with its own set of rules of exclusion
and inclusion. Using an elaborate theatrical set filled with subtly
grotesque figures, the artist draws us into this little known world
which brings yet another perspective on questions of identity,
territory, and the everyday.
