L’Association des groupes en arts visuels francophones (AGAVF) présente les événements de ses quinze centres d’artistes et galeries membres à travers le pays et compile les appels de dossiers en arts visuels, arts médiatiques, performance, art public qui s’adressent principalement aux artistes et parfois aux commissaires.

DATE LIMITE: 3 AOÛT 2015
Devant la similitude des mandats et des affinités idéologiques et artistiques du Centre CLARK (Montréal) et de l’Œil de Poisson (Québec), les deux centres s’unissent afin de développer un projet commun qui prendra place entre Québec et Montréal sur l’axe de l’autoroute 20.
Avec cet appel, les centres désirent recevoir des propositions d’interventions artistiques qui se réaliseront à l’été 2016. Toutes les actions et projets prendront place le long de cette autoroute emblématique qui est parsemée d’espaces curieux qui marquent l’imaginaire et le paysage québécois. Parmi ceux-ci, soulignons les haltes routières des années 1960-1970, qui ont inspiré ce projet à la base. Ces haltes ponctuent le parcours des voyageurs de l’autoroute 20 et représentent une zone neutre, à mi-chemin entre les deux villes. Toutefois, d’autres lieux visibles de l’autoroute pourraient être investis, par exemple une station d’essence désaffectée, un motel, un ciné-parc, un camping, etc. Tous les médiums seront considérés (sculpture, installation, œuvre sonore, performance, action, œuvre éphémère, art relationnel, etc.).
Visant à susciter un dialogue et une rencontre entre deux communautés artistiques dynamiques, l’appel de projets s’adresse uniquement aux artistes résidents de Montréal et de Québec. En intervenant sur ce territoire qui est traversé par des milliers de personnes par jour, ce projet commun vise la communauté artistique, mais surtout un public plus élargi, souvent non-initié aux arts.
Mandats des centres
Le Centre d’art et de diffusion CLARK a une vision globale guidée par l’implication et l’inventivité de ses membres actifs, et ce, en continuité avec son histoire. Aiguillé par un mandat appelant l’équilibre entre la production, la diffusion, le rayonnement, l’équité des sexes, des genres, des médiums et des états de carrière des artistes qu’il soutient, qu’il présente ou qu’il aide techniquement, le Centre se veut à l’affût des pratiques les plus novatrices, voire de la prise de risque chez les artistes qu’il diffuse dans sa programmation.
L’action de l’Œil de Poisson vise autant la diffusion que la production de l’art actuel. Le centre privilégie un art de recherche et d’exploration qui encourage le décloisonnement des pratiques artistiques et stimule des transferts ou des rencontres entre disciplines. Il s’agit de rendre compte des pratiques et des problématiques qui forment l’enjeu de l’art actuel et qui en redéfinissent sans cesse la facture comme la nature, plutôt que de s’appuyer sur une définition qui lui serait immanente. Le mandat de l’Œil de Poisson consiste donc à concrétiser ses objectifs à travers la réalisation et la production de différents projets d’expositions, d’échanges, d’événements, de conférences, de publications, d’ateliers et de spectacles.

EXPOSITION COLLECTIVE Viv(r)e la nuit!

L’Artothèque fête son 20e anniversaire, et a fait de cet événement le pivot de sa programmation culturelle annuelle. Pour faire suite à un appel de dossiers en 2014, toutes les expositions présentées par cet organisme en 2015 abordent la thématique de la fête sous différents angles.
Il y a des formules festives qui testent les limites de nos préjugés, car elles explorent des zones taboues dans les sociétés occidentales comme l’au-delà, le deuil, les pratiques funéraires; c’est précisément le cas de la fête des morts. Afin de démythifier et d’actualiser cette fête traditionnelle, qui prend différents noms tout dépendamment de la culture d’accueil (jour des morts au Mexique, fête des trépassés en Bretagne, fête des fantômes en Chine, etc.), le projet d’exposition collective Viv(r)e la nuit ! voit le jour dans le cadre de la 4e édition de l’événement montréalais La Fête des Morts.
Le sens de la fête change dans les sociétés contemporaines (Gravari-Barbas 2007) ; changent les manières de la consommer, de l’organiser, ainsi que son public cible et ses motivations. Pour vérifier si le sens et la signification de la fête des morts se sont élargis, nous proposons d’explorer un élément central et constitutif de cette fête commémorative : la nuit.
Dans les mégapoles contemporaines, la nuit est de plus en plus associée à la couleur, au spectacle, au son et à lumière (Nuits blanches à Paris, à Bruxelles, à Montréal). Nous sommes loin de l’imaginaire nocturne rattaché au Romantisme noir ou à l’Expressionisme allemand. Aujourd’hui, la nuit, plus qu’un portail pour communiquer avec nos défunts, devient force motrice, lieu de rencontre et espace de vie après le jour, voir matériau de création. Par conséquent, vu que nos pratiques et manières de vivre la nuit sont en constante évolution à la lumière de notre époque et des avancés technologiques, les modes de célébrer et d’organiser la fête des morts, voir les rituels associés à la commémoration de nos morts, en ressortent forcément transformés.
Nous invitons les artistes en arts visuels, résidant au Québec, à interroger la transformation de notre perception de la nuit au fils des temps, à s’approprier cet ancien royaume des esprits et des démons : à le conjurer, à le maîtriser, à le célébrer et à le vivre par l’entremise de médiums nouveaux et classiques.
La Fête des Morts est un événement qui par l’entremise d’activités artistiques, éducatives et culturelles a pour but de faire connaitre, auprès d’un large public, diverses façons d’appréhender la mort et de
commémorer les défunts. Ces activités favorisent les occasions de partage et de réflexion en collectivité. L’édition 2015 de cet événement met à l’honneur Haïti et l’Acadie.
Votre dossier doit comprendre les documents suivants :
- Texte décrivant la démarche artistique (2 pages maximum)
- CV à jour (5 pages maximum), comprenant les coordonnées complètes de l’artiste (adresse courriel, adresse postale, numéro de téléphone, site web, etc.)

DIXIEME EXPOSITION INTERNATIONALE
D’ESTAMPE NUMÉRIQUE MINIATURE
Nous invitons tous les artistes professionnels à participer à la DIXIÈME EXPOSITION INTERNATIONALE D’ESTAMPE NUMÉRIQUE MINIATURE, qui se tiendra à Ottawa (Canada) du 7 novembre au 8 décembre 2015.
On demande aux artistes de soumettre leurs estampes numériques de 25 cm par 20 cm (jusqu’à deux par artiste) au plus tard le 1er juillet 2015.
L’édition 2015 de l’exposition porte le thème STRUCTURE Numérique. Le texte expliquant le thème se retrouve sur le site web cité ci-dessous. L’artiste doit remplir le formulaire et rédiger un court texte faisant le lien entre l’œuvre présentée et le thème de l’exposition.
Le commissaire, Alex Leblanc, fera la sélection des œuvres pour l’exposition et un jury composé de trois artistes réputés décernera trois prix en argent et des mentions d’honneur.

neverhitsend is a Los Angeles-based collective that performatively researches communications ideology, with a particular focus on issues involving collective authorship, privacy, and anonymity. We are currently seeking applicants interested in making an online project using our newly created Internet-based platform called Toggle. Toggle is a browser plugin that creates a metapage on top of any existing web page. The plugin interface allows users to upload content in the form of text, hyperlinks, and images. To use graffiti terminology: you can, like, tag any website.
neverhitsend created Toggle to explore the constitutive elements of Internet-based communication. We’re looking for proposals that use the Toggle platform in a compelling way and contribute to the ongoing international conversation about the social, political, and personal effects of established struct ures of Internet communication. Toggle can play a primary or complementary role in your proposed project; it can be a tool for person-to-person communication, a space of digital performance, an essay-like mapping of your personal research, a platform for activism or critique, or anything else you want it to be. We strongly encourage group proposals!
As a Toggle Fellow, you will be given access to the Toggle plugin, technical and creative support for your project, and an honorarium of $100 USD. At first, Toggle will only be available to Fellows and neverhitsend to upload, view, and edit content. Toggle will be publicly released and presented by neverhitsend at the 21st International Symposium on Electronic Art from August 14–18, 2015 in Vancouver, BC.

Our Main Space is currently located at 208 Centre St SE in the Chinatown
neighbourhood of downtown Calgary. A detailed floor plan can be found here.
Shows are six weeks in duration.
Main Space programming comprises exhibitions by artists, collaborators, curators, and other cultural producers from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. We work closely with artists to create critically-relevant shows that advance contemporary art in our local and national communities. Please note that TNG accepts proposals for solo shows, but the Programming Committee may also consider individual artists for inclusion in a curated group project.
TNG observes CARFAC-stipulated payment schedules, offering an artist fee of
$1845 for a solo show. Additionally, we provide limited financial resources to aid
artists in managing shipping and travel costs.
Submission procedure
The following materials should be included in your application:
1. Proposal: Briefly describe your exhibition or Main Space project. Provide
complete details of your spatial, physical, and material requirements, including any special equipment and technical needs.
2. Artist Statement: Discuss how your proposed project is situated in relation to your current artistic practice and the broader context of your work, research, and interests.
3. Support: Please include up to fifteen pieces of additional support material,
including digital images, videos, text excerpts, or audio clips alongside a
corresponding numbered image list detailing the artwork’s title, medium, physical
size, date of completion, and any other necessary descriptors. Our Programming
Committee will review up to a maximum of five minutes of time-based work.
4. Curriculum Vitae: Describe your artistic background to a maximum length of
three pages. Please include all relevant contact information.
The New Gallery only accepts digital submissions via e-mail. Paper materials will
be discarded and recycled. Please format all written materials as a single .pdf
document. Images must be numbered RGB .jpeg files with a maximum resolution

L’ANDRA, établissement public à caractère industriel et commercial, a pour mission de trouver, mettre en œuvre et garantir des solutions de gestion sûres pour l’ensemble des déchets radioactifs français afin de protéger les générations futures du risque que ces déchets présentent.
Cet appel à projets artistiques a pour objectif de contribuer à la réflexion sur la préservation et la transmission de la mémoire des sites de stockage de déchets radioactifs.
Le candidat devra soumettre un projet d’oeuvre ou d’intervention artistique, sur le thème de la
préservation et de la transmission de la mémoire des sites de stockage de déchets
radioactifs au profit des générations futures, en prenant en considération la transformation du
paysage et de la société, sur une amplitude temporelle de plusieurs milliers d’années. De portée prospective, les projets artistiques retenus n’ont pas nécessairement vocation à être ensuite réalisés.
Les qualités artistiques, l’originalité de la proposition et son adéquation avec l’appel à projets constitueront les principaux critères de sélection.

Touch.My.Prints seeks projects, finished or in-progress, of photographic still lifes. TMP is interested in the special way the photographic process can flatten space. In the process of a studio still life the artist can have complete control over lighting, objects, composition, etc. This control allows for a constructed environment to showcase a wide range of concepts. TMP seeks these highly controlled still lifes to showcase in TMP ISSUE04.

Sur la thématique de l’eau, les artistes sont invités à soumettre leurs propositions, réalistes ou utopiques, figuratives ou abstraites, en portant un regard singulier et sensible sur ce thème.
Ce concours est ouvert aux candidats de toutes nationalités, de tous âges, et dans les six disciplines des arts plastiques suivantes : peinture, dessin, sculpture, installation, photographie et vidéo.
Le concours « Talents Contemporains » donnera lieu à une exposition collective au centre d’art et à une édition bilingue présentant les travaux des lauréats.
Chaque année, la Fondation François Schneider consacre pour les « Talents Contemporains » une enveloppe globale maximale de 300 000 € qui se décompose en deux parties :

L’Atypique trouble

Voir c’est reconnaître et reconnaître rassure. Le « comme » reste actif dans les approches et critiques de l’art. Une telle approche continue à croire en la transparence de la compréhension et au dépliage total d’une œuvre, d’un récit.
L’expérimental par définition s’éloigne de l’obéissance aux codes et aux formats. Il refuse de suivre le type, l’étalon, le modèle et par là-même, il rue dans les brancards de l’habitude en faisant preuve des potentialités de l’esprit, de ses capacités à ne pas se restreindre à l’invention, à la nouveauté pour la nouveauté, complice inversé du « comme »; il préfère provoquer l’advention- ce qui advient.
Et puisqu’il se plaît à l’étrangeté, à l’atypique, et le pratique, il reçoit encore des soupçons sur sa légitimité. L’autre effraie, l’atypique trouble.
La formule d’emblée perturbe l’unicité de sa lecture : l’atypique- comme sujet- trouble celui qui le croise/ l’atypique- comme noyau nominal, comme nom- est trouble car il démonte l’attente.
Une telle association sait qu’elle réveille notre mémoire vers le das Unheimliche freudien et sa traduction, L’inquiétante étrangeté. En effet, un adjectif substantivé, dont le préfixe Un exprime la privation, et l’adjectif heimlich /familier, fondé sur la base heim, partagée par dans de nombreux termes comme daheim : à la maison, proche de l’anglais at home ; die Heimat : le pays natal, la terre-mère, etc. Cela devrait se dire dès lors : le non-familier, « l’étrange familier », l’étrange qui devient précisément inquiétant parce qu’il surgit au sein du familier.
L’atypique lie, aussi, le si proche et le si lointain, lui aussi inquiète devant ce qui « se rattache aux choses connues depuis longtemps et de tout temps familières ».
Et il nous plaît de considérer comme un hommage discret à la notion d’atypique, à ce qui fait trouble, qu’à l’échelle la plus élémentaire du monde des particules, la physique ait choisi comme nom de l’un des quarks, le terme d’étrangeté.
Est en revanche, incontestable que c’est un ferment de la littérature, comme du cinéma et désormais des séries télévisuelles. Le fantastique recherche l’irruption de l’irrationnel dans le réel, il produit ce trouble devant l’étrangeté, devant le Horla – autre association inconcevable : le hors et le là ensemble.
L’expérimental met à l’épreuve les points de repère, les limites s’y brouillent. Cependant retenue comme thématique, la proposition : L’Atypique trouble, attend des propositions qui quêtent l’étrange sous l’habituel ; qui débordent le témoignage fût-il plastique ; qui se risquent à « adventer » des mondes. Qui reconnaissent comme première, cette capacité de l’expérimental à être autre voire bizarre ou simplement « différent ».
En 2015, comme pour chacune de ses éditions, en prémices, puisque encore et toujours, s’est entendue cette appréciation de différence, Traverse Vidéo a programmé, des œuvres y répondant, ainsi J’ai un problème avec France Gall de Boris du Boullay et deux opus de Natalie Plaskura, en installation au Goethe Institut : Intrusion et Faint… dont vient le visuel de cet appel d’œuvre ; il atteste de notre projet.

A call for artists and curators
After the Haiti Revolution, the formerly enslaved peasants had three tools for their ‘counter-plantation’ position – the Kreyòl language, the Lakou system and the belief-system and ritual practices of Vodou, a triumvirate of linguistic, territorial and cultural resistance. Laurent Dubois, writing in ‘Haiti: The Aftershocks of History’, notes that, ‘thanks to a remarkably strong and widely shared set of cultural forms – the Kreyòl language, the Vodou religion, and innovative ways of managing land ownership…- they built a society able to resist all forms of subjection that recalled the days of slavery.’
The language of Kreyòl, which was born in the colonial plantations, began as a basic and rough method of linguistic communication between the culturally and geographically diverse populations of the colony. After the slaves revolt Kreyòl became a language of resistance and retreat from the metropolitan state, which continued to use French as the lingua franca of power and capital.
Vodou is a creolised religion forged by African slaves and their descendants which is comprised of elements from a wide range of diverse religious practices including many African traditions from the Fon, Dahomean, Kongo, Yoruba, and other African ethnic groups; Christianity and of the indigenous Taino Indians who were the original inhabitants of the region. As Dubois comments, ‘As they suffered together through the trauma of plantation life, Africans and creoles developed their own rituals of healing, mourning and worship.’
The Lakou is a sub-altern land management system in the rural provinces of Haiti which refers to clusters of houses around a yard which house extended and multi-generational families, forms of land management and ownership which attempted to resist the return to the plantations and co-operative labour and trade practices. As Dubois wrote, ‘In order to preserve that control, the Lakou system established its own set of customs to regulate land ownership and land transfers. The state had no part in these transactions, which were overseen entirely by community and family institutions.’
Vodou is a contested theme in studies of Caribbean and Haitian art. Current discourse interrogates both auto-exoticism by Haitians, and the ‘othering’ of outsiders. Important concerns include the appropriation of the impoverished peasant or ghetto culture as an essentially neo-colonialist strategy, and the precarious position of Haitian art in general, trapped as it is between the historically marketable ‘naïf’ or ‘primitive’ Vodou-celebrating tendency, and a contemporary desire to take its place on the stage of the international global art world.
We welcome projects that incorporate language, dialogues, place, symbolism and performance or consider global territorial struggles, forms of linguistic refusal and friction, and ritual and esoteric forms of obstruction and intransigence. The Ghetto Biennale invites artists and curators to explore what potentials these radical tools, Kreyòl, Vodou and the Lakou, have to offer to the contemporary world.
The 4th Ghetto Biennale 2015 will take place from the end of November until the middle of December 2015, the exact dates to be confirmed. All works must be made and exhibited in Haiti. Artists and curators will be invited to pass, no less than one, to three weeks in Haiti before presenting their work in the neighbourhood to an audience of local people, Port au Prince neighbourhood communities, arts collectives and arts organisations.
The deadline for proposal applications is midnight Sunday 5th July BST and our decisions will be made and announced by the end of the third week in July.
Applicants for the 4th Ghetto Biennale 2015 must provide a written synopsis of their project proposal covering conceptual background, methodology, and a production and exhibition strategy for the proposed new work on no more than two sides of A4 including illustrations, and a one page CV, all formatted as pdfs. We will not accept any proposal longer than two sides, no attached images and neither will we accept website links as a proposal component.
Please keep in mind that we are looking for works that will be created during the three-week period in Port au Prince, Haiti. We are not looking for work that is already created. We welcome projects that may require collaboration with local artists and would be able to help connect artists beforehand.
There is no funding for this event and you will be expected to cover the cost of your flight, accommodation and materials. We will supply a reading list, there is a film about the Grand Rue sculptors on-line and we will be more than happy to help (via email) with any research and information needed, both before your application and leading up to the event. Advice can also be given about the practicalities for the production of specific projects and budgeting for the trip. If your work involves intensive interviews we will advise you to budget for your own translator. Artists should be aware that Haiti has only a 50% literacy rate and text heavy projects could be problematic for the local audience. We can help organise all hotel bookings, airport pick-ups and internal transport.
The Ghetto Biennale remains a lens-free event for none-Haitian artists so no video and photography projects will be considered, but there will be a photographer on site to document the projects at the end of the event for anyone needing images for documentation.

The leap second festival is an open, free, distributed, international,
non-profit festival for art, technology and precarity coordinated on
the Internet. The festival intends to take place on every leap second
in the years to come. The first festival took place in 2012 and is

This second festival marks the 26. leap second and will be arranged
the 30th of June 2015 23:59:60 (UTC), lasting one second. During this
second all the works are exhibited, performed, and executed. The event

The festival focus is on the leap second as
i) deviation and glitch, a bug in the machination of time,
ii) a reality-check and celebration (glitz) of natural cycles taking
place at the moment when the ideal time we have on our clocks is
synchronized with the real time based on the rotation of the earth;
iii) precarity, an unpredictable and insecure condition, affecting
material/physical and social/psychological welfare – from how this
inserted second wreaks havoc in computers worldwide, to how a technology
(of time and production) aggravate the precariat as social class;
iv) a marginal and intermittent existence, short and discontinuous,
autonomous and freely self-inserted/-exploited/-realized/-precarizated,
v) as art, out of time, out of order, out of line, a defiant leap;
vi) a school of sudden realization, perhaps – without past or future –
not here, not now, not this, not that – letting time fall away, together
with its minions – becoming vast and expansive beyond the seconds of the
wobbling earth – with the leap second as their paradox.

Preconditions
The conditions for all fellowships with the exception of the curator fellowship are a completed course of study in art (M.F.A. or comparable degree) and two to three years (depending on the respective fellowship) of continuous artistic work after the conclusion of the studies until the beginning of the fellowship. Applications are also possible for autodidacts distinguished by special artistic achievements, as documented by exhibitions and prizes.
To foster artistic dialog and interdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge of German or English is expected.
I. International residential fellowships
Six residential fellowships will be awarded to international visual artists. The focus of artistic work for the residential fellowships for 2016 must be on the medium of drawing, whereby drawing does not necessarily mean just “graphite on paper.” Formal and conceptual exploration of the limits and possibilities of the genre are also welcome.
Since 2013, fellowships are offered in one artistic genre or one theme each year. This offering, which is unique in Germany, is intended to enable deeper mutual creative cross-fertilisation among the resident artists. It will also lead to a more intensive specialist exchange of ideas with external artists, speakers, teachers, curators, etc.
Two fellowships last three months and four fellowships last nine months. All residential fellowships run from June 2016.
The residential fellowships are endowed with 1,400 EUR a month and include free accommodation in the Kuenstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral.
II. International curator fellowship
To foster dialog between artistic work and theoretical reflection, Balmoral awards a residential curator fellowship to a fellow in the humanities (preferably art history). The curator fellowship is awarded to persons whose university degree (at least M.A.) was completed not more than five years ago. For the curator fellowship, mastery of the German language spoken and in writing as well as good knowledge of English is essential.
The fellowship lasts nine months and begins in June 2016. It is endowed with 1,400 EUR per month and includes free accommodation in the Kuenstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral.
Awarding of fellowships
A jury of specialists will award all fellowships, taking into consideration the developmental potential of the applicant’s artistic or theoretical work.

GENERATOR propose à chacun d’entre eux un espace de travail, des financements et un accès privilégié aux professionnels de l’art contemporain en Bretagne.

Vaste et vague
La résidence du Centre d’artistes Vaste et Vague
Située à l’orée d’un boisé, au 14-A, rue Benjamin-Leblanc, à Carleton-sur-Mer, la Résidence V&V est une spacieuse demeure dotée de 4 chambres, d’une cuisine communautaire, de salles de bain et de lavage ,ainsi que d’un atelier non outillé de 30 m2, avec stationnement et connexion WiFi. Une bicyclette est mise à la disposition des résidents.
Le programme de séjours à la Résidence V&V du Centre d’artistes Vaste et Vague comporte deux volets.
Séjour de recherche et création
Le volet « recherche et création » s’adresse aux artistes, auteurs ou commissaires en art actuel qui soumettent un projet de création ou d’écriture lors des appels de dossiers du Centre (prochaine date de tombée : 1er décembre 2015).
Les résidences de recherche et création à la Résidence V&V ont une durée de 2 semaines et sont accompagnés d’une exposition ou d’une présentation (selon la teneur du projet).
Lorsqu’un projet est sélectionné dans le cadre de sa programmation annuelle, le Centre offre un cachet de résidence et donne accès à son Laboratoire nouveaux médias ainsi qu’à une salle de présentation. L’artiste invité peut travailler directement dans la salle d’exposition Desjardins et y recevoir le public.

Séjour hors programme
Le volet « séjour hors programme » s’adresse aux membres du Centre et à ses partenaires du RCAAQ, ainsi qu’à toute personne associée au milieu artistique qui désire effectuer un séjour de prospection, de réflexion ou de repos à la Résidence V&V.
Les résidences hors programme s’effectuent en tout temps, et leur durée varie selon la disponibilité des lieux et le nombre d’occupants.
En devenant membres du Centre d’artistes Vaste et Vague, les résidents bénéficient de tarifs préférentiels (25 $/nuitée + 10$/pers. supplémentaire, gratuit pour les enfants en bas âge), peu importe la période de l’année.

Atelier Topaz – résidence Opasatika, Ontario, Canada
Le lieu
Situés au cœur de la forêt boréale, les Ateliers Topaz sont à la fois un lieu de retraite et un centre de création pour artistes, toutes disciplines confondues. L’endroit parfait pour la réflexion, l’évasion. Le groupement d’édifices fait 900 mètres carrés et repose sur 14 hectares face à la route Transcanadienne. Il donne sur un étang de deux hectares. Topaz c’est la « Route 66 » dans le nord de l’Ontario. L’endroit, modeste et nostalgique, rappelle aussi les grandes épopées de la colonisation francophone de l’Ontario. Ces studios de création ou cette résidence d’artistes, endroit idéal pour les arts visuels, sont situés au centre du Canada, à mi-chemin entre l’Atlantique et le Pacifique, là où les étoiles deviennent les topazes de la nuit.
Ce qu’on offre
D’abord l’espace et, l’espace de travail déterminés selon les besoins de l’artiste. Les espaces polyvalents permettent d’y faire de la peinture, de la sculpture, de l’installation, etc. L’atelier de menuiserie, le Bar à clou, est équipé des outils de base. Un magasin d’objets trouvés est disponible autant pour l’inspiration que pour l’utilisation dans une œuvre. Le peintre apporte ses pinceaux, le musicien son instrument et l’écrivain son ordi.
Les personnes qui séjournent aux Ateliers Topaz jouissent de l’accès à la cuisine et sont responsables de préparer leurs repas. Toutefois Laurent peut aussi leur cuisiner de petits plats typiquement canadiens-français aux besoins ou aux désirs. Topaz possède deux suites avec lit double et une chambre avec lit simple. Chacune possède sa salle de toilette avec douche. Ces installations évoquent admirablement le style des années 1960. Pour la baignade, le Lac des Cœurs se situe à deux kilomètres à l’est. Pour le canotage ou la pèche, la rivière Opasatika est deux kilomètres à l’ouest. Pour se déplacer, il y a de vieux vélos ou la marche. Pour un frais très raisonnable, votre hôte peut aussi vous conduire ou organiser un déplacement vers Kapuskasing à l’est ou vers Hearst à l’ouest. Les matériaux d’artistes ne sont pas disponibles dans la région. Il est donc important de faire vos achats avant votre séjour, à moins que vous travailliez avec des matériaux que l’on peut se procurer dans des magasins ordinaires ou même en nature.

The City of Burlington invites professional artists to submit Expressions of Interest to create a permanent public artwork for a development site located on Plains Road in the Aldershot community of Burlington, Ontario. This competition is open to all Ontario artists.
About
Residents of Aldershot Village have been working together to create a great neighbourhood for decades. Recent efforts to improve Plains Road have made significant progress towards increased pedestrian access and beautification of the street. The public art installation will help to beautify Plains Road and create a year-round neighbourhood hub for all to enjoy.
Submissions
An artwork proposal is not requested at this time. Artist applications will be reviewed on the basis of artistic merit, professional qualifications and experience. Short-listed artists will be paid an honorarium of $1,000 to develop an artwork concept proposal. The budget for this project is $50,000.

Project Description and Goals
IO and MCSCS wish to commission an Artist or Artist-led Team to design and construct a public art monument near Queen’s Park to honour the valuable contribution and sacrifices of current, past and future correctional employees across the Province of Ontario. The Correctional Workers Monument will recognize the contribution of everyone that works within the Correctional Services and their role as essential partners in the justice system that helps to keep Ontario communities safe.
IO and MCSCS are looking for an Artist or Artist-led Team who can combine art and landscape design skills to create an innovative public art monument that will be developed particularly for this site and subject matter. The artwork can be realized in a variety of materials and/or media, but must be visually engaging. It shall be durable and low-maintenance and integrate well within the landscape and its context.
Consideration for the artwork should include the following. The monument shall:
positively represent the Correctional Workers vision and image: strength, wisdom, sacrifice, empathy and higher awareness;
create a gathering space for events and individual contemplation with a clear path of travel to the site;
be of high quality and designed to inspire, to stand the test of time and have lasting impact;
enhance the public space and have particular resonance on the site and its immediate context;
integrate into the landscape and into the current uses of the public space; and
be designed to be low-maintenance and durable.

Salt Lake City, UT + Regent Street Performing Arts Center
A new state-of-the-art performing arts center, the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Theater, will open in downtown Salt Lake City in the fall of 2016. The theater will become the region’s premier entertainment venue and a contemporary landmark for Utah’s capitol city. The redevelopment of Regent Street, one of downtown Salt Lake City’s most interesting streets – both historically and culturally, offers an opportunity to merge history with the contemporary to create a welcoming, dynamic urban environment unlike any other found in Salt Lake City.
This project, including the selected integrated artwork, will serve as a catalyst for positive economic and social change and enhanced quality of life in the downtown business and cultural district. The artwork is considered a part of the architectural whole and requires cooperation with architects, project partners and others. The artwork should exemplify strong, imaginative design and content and should contribute to a visually stimulating environment that lends itself to thought and adds character to the site.

The Vancouver Heritage Foundation is currently accepting proposals from independent curators and artists for the next WALL art project to be installed in the fall of 2015.
THE WALL is an artists’ platform made possible through a unique partnership between the Vancouver Heritage Foundation, JJ Bean Coffee, the CBC, and the City of Vancouver Public Art Program. THE WALL is a 60’x 40′ concrete wall with an aluminum frame that is the site of a changing program of artworks. It is located at the CBC building on Hamilton Street between Georgia and Robson Streets.
The intent of THE WALL is to foster dialogue and public awareness about the city’s built environment. This goal is accomplished by using the vast reserve of images and material at the CBC archives to create works of art that are exhibited on the plaza wall. Selected artists will have the opportunity to explore the CBC archives to research and inform their artwork intended for exhibition on THE WALL at the CBC Plaza.
