Le prochain cycle de programmations du 3e impérial aborde la posture de l’artiste sous l’angle de l’étrangeté et du pouvoir catalyseur de l’art : invention du quotidien, habileté à créer des protocoles ludiques, inédits, à circuler dans des  réseaux inexplorés. C’est à partir de ces prémices de création que nous invitons les artistes en art actuel à venir explorer les zones sensibles du territoire humain et géographique dans le contexte d’une résidence de cinq semaines.

Artistes visuels recherchés en 2012 à la Galerie d’art du Théâtre Capitol
La Galerie d’art du Théâtre Capitol est encore
une fois à la recherche d’artistes visuels
désirant mettre sur pied une exposition durant
l’année 2012.
Les artistes visuels d’ici et d’ailleurs ont
jusqu’au 31 mai 2011 pour soumettre leur candidature.
Tout comme les dernières années, les
artistes sélectionnés recevront un cachet de 500
$.
Situé sur la rue Main, au centre-ville de Moncton,
le Théâtre Capitol est d’abord et avant tout
un centre des arts de la scène. Il permet cependant
d’accueillir les artistes des disciplines
touchant les arts visuels.
La Galerie d’art du Théâtre Capitol se trouve
dans la partie avant du Foyer Irving du centre
des arts de la scène et est devenue une aire
d’exposition importante. Grâce aux nombreux
spectateurs qui assistent aux spectacles et aux
divers événements du Théâtre Capitol, les
expositions bénéficient d’une excellente visibilité.
Un comité des arts visuels coordonne la sélection
des artistes. Les expositions durent environ
deux mois, selon les autres activités prévues
au théâtre. Les artistes intéressés à devenir
exposant à la Galerie d’art du Théâtre Capitol
doivent remplir le formulaire de demande
d’exposition et le remettre au Théâtre Capitol,
avec le portfolio, avant le 31 mai prochain.
Le portfolio comprend une courte biographie
de l’artiste, y compris une liste des expositions
antérieures et des expositions futures confirmées,
une description de l’exposition proposée
et un minimum de dix diapositives ou photos de
ses oeuvres récentes avec une liste où figurent le
titre des oeuvres, la technique utilisée, la taille
des oeuvres et la date de réalisation.

Voix Visuelle
Appel de dossiers  /  L’inconscient de l’œil par le sténopé numérique
APPEL AUX ARTISTES DE TOUT LE PAYS QUI SE SERVENT DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE
DANS LEUR PROCESSUS CRÉATIF EN ART ACTUEL.
Double défi:
1- Montrer l’invisible en se servant de la photographie
2- Utiliser un processus ancien, le sténopé, adapté à la technologie
moderne, un appareil numérique à objectif interchangeable. (Il n’y a
qu’à enlever l’objectif et le remplacer par un carton noir ou le
bouchon, percé d’un petit trou. Le temps -de pose- fera le reste!)
Laissez entrer un peu de vie dans l’image par le sténopé. Quand la
profondeur de champ est augmentée par la longueur de temps
d’exposition, la magie peut mieux opérer. Seule la photographie peut
révéler l’inconscient de l’œil. Vous prenez une photo et puis, c’est
la photo qui vous prend. Cette valeur ajoutée que Barthes nommait
punctum, c’est en négligeant un instant la raison qu’elle peut surgir.
Le hasard s’approche quand le contrôle nous échappe…

Exposition internationale d’estampe numérique miniature 6
Lieu : Ottawa (Ontario) Canada

Nous invitons tous les artistes professionnels à participer à la sixième exposition internationale d’estampe numérique miniature, qui se tiendra à Ottawa (Canada) du 5 novembre au 10 décembre 2011.

On demande aux artistes de soumettre leurs estampes numériques de 25 cm par 20 cm (jusqu’à deux par artiste) au plus tard le 30 juin 2011.

L’édition 2011 de l’exposition porte le thème Le corps transformé.
Le texte expliquant le thème se retrouve sur le site web.
L’artiste doit remplir le formulaire et rédiger un court texte faisant
le lien entre l’œuvre présentée et le thème de l’exposition.

La commissaire, Katy Le Van, fera la sélection des œuvres pour l’exposition et un jury composé de trois artistes réputés décerner trois prix en argent et des mentions d’honneur.

La participation à l’exposition est gratuite pour tous. L’exposition se tiendra au Centre d’artistes Voix Visuelle.

Programmation 2012-2013
La Galerie Verticale lance un appel de candidature aux commissaires d’expositions afin de souligner le 25e anniversaire de l’organisme fondateur, la Société des arts visuels de Laval. Dans l’intention de varier sa formule de diffusion, la Galerie Verticale se tourne d’emblée vers l’exploration et la diversification des modes de diffusions des œuvres et des interventions artistiques hors murs. Ceci nous donnera l’occasion d’utiliser le potentiel de l’environnement urbain et naturel qui servira de matière première aux commissaires et artistes invités. Souhaitant nous rapprocher de la communauté lavalloise, nous élaborons donc une programmation se rapportant à notre réalité.
Nous souhaitons présenter des artistes, architectes, designers ou tous autres créateurs qui inscriront dans la ville toutes formes d’interventions artistiques qui sauront révéler de nouvelles expériences esthétiques au public rendant compte de la permanence et du mouvement, de l’ordre et du désordre de la ville.
NATURE DES PROJETS RECHERCHES :

Modern Fuel is currently seeking submissions for exhibitions and presentations of innovative, contemporary artwork in any visual media for its 2012-2013 programming season. Emerging artists are welcome. Artist fees are paid. We welcome proposals for solo and group exhibitions in our Main Gallery and our State of Flux Project Room, performances, curatorial projects, collaborative projects, lectures, workshops and other events. Oil. It fuels our cars, it furnishes our homes, it feeds our debates, our wars. Oil, almost magic, which can be transformed into a multitude of products, toys, fertilizers, carpets, shampoo, insulation, golf balls, credit cards, lipsticks, plastic bags, bottles. A strange philosophers’ stone giving immortality to pop bottles and plastic forks.
How are we going to negotiate our dependency and oil addiction with our environmental concerns? Who defines the Industry practices? How can the individual contribute to the emergence of solutions? What is the role of the artist, writer, poet?
OIL is looking for slick short videos to fuel the discussion! Daniel Dugas will curate the program, through a call of submissions that is open to local, national and international artists. We are looking for videos that address and explore the issues and relationships we have with oil, either politically and/or poetically. The program will be screened on July 12, 2011, which is the one-year anniversary of the capping of the BP well in the Gulf of New Mexico.

To submit your short film/video:
– Must be under 5 min.
– Must be submitted on either data DVD as a .mov file or Mini DV, if sending by mail.

Curator Bio:
Daniel Dugas is a poet, musician and videographer. He holds an MFA, Time Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  He was an artist in residence at: the Banff Centre, in both in the Visual Arts and in the Music  Department; Sculpture Space, New York; EMMEDIA, Calgary; A.I.R. Vallauris, France, and more recently at the Sydney College of the Arts, Sydney, Australia.
His sixth book of poetry: Hé!, was published last spring by Les Éditions Prise de Parole, Sudbury, Ontario.  This spring, he will be participating in the Festival international et Marché de Poésie Wallonie-Bruxelles as well as the Frye Festival. Daniel is currently living in Moncton, New Brunswick where he is pursuing a PhD in creative writing at the Université de Moncton.

It’s that time of year once again for you to submit your film, video, radio and new media works for the 12th annual imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival. This year’s Festival runs from October 19-23, 2011 in Toronto, Canada. imagineNATIVE is an international Festival that celebrates the latest works by Indigenous peoples at the forefront of innovation in film, video, radio and new media. Each fall, the Festival presents a selection of the most compelling and distinctive Indigenous works from Canada and around the globe. The works accepted reflect the diversity of the world’s Indigenous nations and illustrate the vitality and excellence of our art and culture in contemporary media.
imagineNATIVE considers film, video, radio and new media (web-based) works made by Canadian and international Indigenous artists. The Festival strives to represent a diversity of ideas, themes and genres in its programming. The Festival prioritizes works that balance unique content, cultural and social relevance, and a creative approach to form, characterized by innovative expression, distinctive style, and personal vision. Emerging and Student artists are encouraged to submit their work. Priority is given to works that have not yet been broadcast in Canada or on the Internet. International and Canadian premiere status is also a consideration. News reports, extended reportage, television magazine formats, and information programming or segments (such as PSAs) are not eligible (see website for a complete listing of rules and guidelines).

Does post-disciplinarity exist “in the ruins of outmoded disciplinary structures” – mediating between nostalgia for disciplinary boundaries and excitement at the intellectual freedom their demise might offer – or could interdisciplinarity still offer much to illuminate issues attached to “sloppy craft”? And importantly, what are the historical antecedents to this recent turn in craft discourse? This panel seeks to critically assess the value of the post-disciplinary method proposed as a way forward for the making of craft and its discourse (advocated most prominently by craft theorist Glenn Adamson).
We invite speakers to consider ways the following terms/concepts might interact with “sloppy craft” and the post-disciplinarity advocated for it: DIY, amateur, traditional, conceptual art, intentionality, materiality, function, community, skilful, historical, design. Speakers may also consider the advantages of an interdisciplinary approach to these terms/concepts in their application to “sloppy craft.”

Toronto Urban Film Festival
5 Years and Still TUFF!

The Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF), the only festival of its kind in North America, is a 10-day long public film festival that reaches over 1.3 million subway commuters daily. TUFF is looking for the best silent one-minute films from across Canada and around the world.

We accept film, video and animation that will engage an urban public. There are no specific themes for this year. All submissions must be silent and exactly 60 seconds.

Recently named one of MovieMaker Magazine’s ’20 Coolest Film Festivals,’ TUFF festival runs from September 9 – 18, 2011, concurrent with TIFF. Films are presented on the Onestop network of 300 subway platform screens inside the TTC, and are featured on the TUFF website, where people can vote for the their favourite films.

Our Guest Judge is Oscar-nominated filmmaker Atom Egoyan, who will be selecting the top awards of the 2011 festival. Other awards include the $2500 Naish McHugh Award for Emerging Filmmakers, sponsored by the City of Toronto; the WIFT-T award for Most Ambitious Film by a Female Filmmaker; Best Environmental Film by a Canadian Filmmaker; the Viewer’s Choice Award, sponsored by the Drake Hotel. Permanent Public Art Work
Public Art at Dawes Road and Victoria Park 

Toronto Cultural Services works with staff across City of Toronto divisions and agencies, boards and commissions to identify exciting new opportunities for commissioning innovative contemporary artworks in the City’s public spaces.
Transportation Services, Public Realm, Cycling Infrastructure, Technical Services, City Planning Urban Design, and Cultural Services have been working together with Councillor Janet Davis and the local community to coordinate a number of improvements to Dawes Road, including the relocation of the intersection of Dawes Road and Victoria Park Avenue.   The proposed changes will address the safety concerns at Ferris Road and improve the pedestrian environment, increase the available green space and provide an opportunity for civic improvements and public art.
Dawes Road has a rich history as one of the busiest roads in this section of Ontario in the nineteenth century providing farmers from developing Scarborough with the ability to get their produce, livestock and lumber to market in York in a fast and effective manner. Dawes Road does not follow a typical grid pattern along surveyed lots and there is some suggestion that this variation is due to the fact that its origin is based in an early native trail.
Cultural Services views the unique context and parameter of this site as an opportunity to commission an artist or artist team to create a site specific public art work. The artist or artist team will also be requested to work with a recognized experienced landscape architect of their choice to implement an integrated art and landscape concept for this project. The two indicated locations for public art provide an opportunity for a visual connection linking the north and south sites with a gateway work that enhances the identity of this neighborhood.
The art production budget for this project including all fees, materials, technologies, fabrication, landscaping and installation costs is $400,000. 

For this first stage of the competition, Toronto Cultural Services is inviting local and national artists or artist teams along with their chosen landscaper to respond to this Expression of Interest (EOI) by submitting the following:
•    Resume(s) in text form (including landscape architect or designer)

ARTSPACE Peterborough is seeking proposals from visual and new media artists for its 2012/13 programming.

ARTSPACE is dedicated to exhibiting Canadian Contemporary artists working in a variety of disciplines. We strive to present art that reflects and promotes the diversity of cultural and political perspectives, which shape contemporary art practices. Emerging, mid-career and senior artists whose works are alternative, experimental and/or critically engaged are presented. ARTSPACE receives a high volume of submissions. Before submitting, please look at past exhibitions and projects at ARTSPACE to decide if your work fits the gallery mandate.

With multiple exhibition spaces available, we invite artists to apply in the following categories:

MAIN GALLERY: designed for the presentation of solo and group shows.  We invite artists, collectives and curators to apply with new or existing exhibition proposals. Video installations will not be considered for the Main Gallery given the natural light in the space from full exposure windows.

MUDROOM: a black-box gallery designated for the presentation of short-term, experimental projects predominantly by local and regional artists, as well as presentation of video installations and single channel works.

PROJECT ROOM: accommodates small and individual pieces that require an intimate and dark space.

PERFORMANCE/RESIDENCY: We are seeking proposals for original performance pieces. We are also interested in works that are participatory in nature and fall under the category of relational aesthetics. In addition, we invite artists to consider doing workshops and lectures during their stay in an effort to engage local artists in research and production. Duration of residency may vary depending on the nature of work and research.

In 2009 TRUCK Contemporary Art in Calgary presented Welcome to the Dollhouse, an exhibition of miniature works displayed in a curio cabinet style dollhouse.

This year, TRUCK will revisit the miniature with Return to the Dollhouse, inviting artists to create small-scale installations that will be viewable from a single “peephole”. Curiosity will entice the viewer’s to gaze into the wonder and mystery that lay behind the closed doors of the dollhouse.

Return to the Dollhouse will take place during August and September of 2011. Each artist will be given a 1 x 1 x 1 foot wooden box to create miniature works in.

Your submission should include:

1.  Proposal (maximum of 1 pages):  Clearly describe the proposed work. Provide details about any special requirements, including equipment needs.

2. Artist Statement (maximum of 1 page): Contextualizes the work submitted within your artistic practice.

1. Call for Submissions: 11th Annual Emerging Artist Exhibition
Deadline: Monday May 16th, 2011
InterAccess seeks submissions of new media and electronic works from emerging artists. Artists must be post-secondary students or recent graduates to qualify, and all works submitted must be exhibition ready, and produced in the last two years. No works in progress will be accepted. InterAccess welcomes new media works in the form of: sculpture, installation, video, audio, performance and interactive art. Web-based projects are also welcome. Based on the works selected, the emerging curator will develop an exhibition related to all the submissions received.
Each selected artist will receive CARFAC standard artist fees for participating. The exhibition will run from Thursday, June 30 — Saturday, August 13, 2011, with an opening reception on Thursday, June 30th, 7-10pm.
While we welcome proposals from outside of Ontario, please note that InterAccess cannot provide artist travel fees or cover the shipping of artwork. Although the artist is chiefly responsible for installing his/her work, InterAccess will provide technical assistance and basic audio/video equipment.
Submissions must include:
•    A project description and artist statement (1 page).

InterAccess is seeking new media ephemera, multiples and publications for its new mini-shop. Electronic Bric-a-Bracs will provide an alternate platform for the dissemination of new media work by showcasing small, cheap and multiple objects.
Housed in a single shelving unit nestled between our offices and the washroom, the shop will receive a high volume of traffic from staff, artists, gallery patrons and anxious members of the public. Electronic Bric-a-Bracs will operate on a consignment basis, with proceeds from the sale of an item divided between the artist (65%) and InterAccess (35%).
Submissions must include:
•    A photo or drawing of the item.
•    A brief description (including size. Please note that eligible items must be produced in an edition of ten and over, and have a retail price of $100 and under.
•    Cost (remember to factor the consignment rates into your cost).

4. Call for Submissions: Plexi Pavilion

InterAccess is pleased to announce its new project space, Plexi Pavilion, a body-sized plexiglass box on wheels, situated in our front stairway. Plexi Pavilion is best suited for single works which, since the pavilion can be moved by the viewer, can be viewed from any angle. The pavilion can be seen from the street and will be accessible to the public outside of regular gallery hours.
Submissions must include:
•    A brief description of the project (max. 250 words). Projects must fit within the pavilion (and through its door, which measures 1′ 20″ x 5′ 6″). The pavilion measures 6′ 1.5″ x 2′ 5″ x 2′ 5″.

Art in Odd Places (AIOP) invites artists working across disciplines to propose projects for its seventh installment. Taking place from October 1 to 10, 2011, along 14th Street from Avenue C to the Hudson River in New York City, they encourage proposals that explore this location’s rich history, configuration, and heterogeneous communities. The theme for the upcoming edition of AiOP is RITUAL including Ceremony, Habituation, Myth, Obsession, Superstition, Liturgy, and it will be informed by propositions on the sacred and profane in everyday actions of people in public space.

AIOP 2011: RITUAL offers artists the opportunity to make art outside formal spaces by reconfiguring their artistic practice as public actions or urban interventions without the confinement of a gallery or museum space. AiOP 2011: RITUAL wants to engage passers-by, providing them with a new perspective of an otherwise familiar environment through site-specific installations, social and spatial interventions, video and audio projects, performance, new media, and other inventive practices. In addressing the distinct manifestations of ritual, the festival aims to broaden the public’s outlook on art, city dwelling, and social conventions.

EL RANCHITO OPEN CALL RESIDENCIES AND WORK SPACES FOR ARTISTS

Matadero Madrid // El Ranchito announces an open call to facilitate the creation of collaborative networks and promote artistic production by offering artist-in-residence programmes and making work spaces available. It is aimed at artists and cultural agents from any creative or artistic field who reside or primarily work in Madrid. There are two non-exclusive forms of participation:

Artist-in-residence: four residencies are available for artists who do not reside in Madrid (whether Spanish or international) and come recommended by artists and cultural agents who are city residents in order to develop a joint or collaborative project. The residencies can last from 3 to 6 weeks between May and December 2011. The project resulting from the residency will enjoy additional financial support for its production and form part of El Ranchito’s programme of activities.
Work spaces for artists: different work modules are available for the city’s artists and collectives that may need them to develop a new project over a period of 3 months maximum. In addition to the spaces allocated individually, shared work spaces and common meeting areas are also available.

Diogene urban bivouac

The Diogene group of artists is promoting the international competition “Diogene urbanbivouac”, open to international artists. The “Diogene urbanbivouac” Residency project is the result of a joint effort by a group of artists. They share their ideas concerning the relationship between art and society, the role of the artist, and art as a form of knowledge. They also make themselves available to other artists, thus activating a shared collaboration with them.
Place of Residence
The residency program is characterized by the peculiar location of the residence. The artist selected will in fact be hosted in an old tram carriage, the Bivouac, from the city’s public transports agency, located in a green roundabout in Turin. The Bivouac, restored by Diogene’s members, become the artist’s living and working environment. The arrangement allows the artist to experience a new and powerful interaction between the urban environment and its community.
The copetition is open to all artists currently working in the specific sector of visual arts, without restrictions of approach or medium.
Site, Lenght and Period of Stay
The residence will be hosted by the city of Torino between September 1st and October 20 2011, for a period of 4 to 8 weeks according to the needs of the selected artist.
Art. 4 – Events
During the residence period the Diogene group will organize meetings with critics, researchers and others involved in contemporary art, giving the artist in residence the chance to present his or her works as well as the
project(s) developed in Turin.
There will be one or more days in which the artist opens the studio to the general public who can meet and talk with him.
Art. 5 – Budget (payed by Diogene Association) Stipend for the artist: 2.000 euros
Expenses:
2.000 euros (maximum) – Production expenses for a project or projects to be developed during the residency.
250 euros/week – living expenses (maximum 1.500 euros total).

About HMK
HMK {Hotel Mariakapel} is an artist-run residency and project space in Hoorn, a 15th century town by the IJsselmeer, just 40 km north of Amsterdam. In the old center of the town, in a medieval orphanage with a semi public inner garden and
Maria Chapel, HMK receives artists from all over the world.
The programme involves artists and curators working in a wide range of media, focusing on installation and context based work, video and performance art. Projects are developed both in public space and in the exhibition space. In 2011 HMK is kindly supported by several local and national foundations.

Residencies
For 2012 we have applications open for four group residencies for artists.
We are looking for projects that make full use of the unique opportunities offered. The longer stay at HMK leads to intensive (international) collaboration while developing new individual/group work for an exhibition or other presentation in and/or around the chapel. We are also keen on projects that do not only focus on art itself but that, in content or practice, are able to step outside the borders of the art-context.
HMK {Hotel MariaKapel} focuses mainly on collaborations and group-projects (between 3 and 6 artists); the nature of the collaboration is important to us. Preferably you work with artists or others with whom you haven’t (extensively) worked with before.
Proposals must focus mainly on content of the work and the process of working resulting in a presentation in our chapel/exhibition space, please do not propose to exhibit pre-existing work.

STOP & GO 3-D, San Francisco
Call for Submissions
Deadline: November 15, 2011 – Postmarked
Stop & Go is a program of innovative stop-motion animations by contemporary visual artists and filmmakers, touring and screening internationally since 2008. The program showcases animations that use stop-motion techniques to explore visual language, tell stories and make poignant social commentaries. New animation work is being sought for the third installment of the program called Stop & Go 3-D. The program will screen hand-rendered stereoscopic and anaglyphic experiments that explore traditional 3-D animation produced using stop-motion. Animations that experiment with geometrical elements, pieces that are highly optical or those that comment on the current 3-D craze will also be reviewed. Please note that stop-motion techniques must constitute a significant portion of the work. Both narrative and experimental works will be accepted to this program. The audience will view most of the show through bi-colored red and blue spectacles.
Entry of materials:
The animation’s total running time must not exceed 10 minutes. All entries must be produced in 2008 or later. If your animation is not in English, please provide English language subtitles. Artists must secure all copyrights to the work including any musical soundtracks.
Send entry submissions on a DVD-NTSC disc—please, no PAL discs. If your submission is accepted, a data-file format DVD or Mini-DV tape will be required for inclusion in the master-screening reel. Each submitted work should be labeled with the title of the piece, running time, name of project director and contact information. Please do not put stickers on the DVDs.
Fees & Costs:
There is no entry fee to submit your work to Stop & Go. All costs for mailing the materials to Stop & Go are at the expense of the participant. Discs will be returned only if a self-addressed envelope and appropriate postage cost is enclosed. If no SASE is enclosed, then it is understood that Stop & Go may keep the disc for their library. Stop & Go does not take responsibility for any loss or damage of the work during shipment. Please do not send original copies.
Tour:
The last two installments of the show, Stop & Go and Stop & Go Rides Again, toured extensively, including venues in the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, Israel and Croatia. Stop & Go 3-D will embark on a similar tour, to begin in 2012, and will travel until 2014. By submitting the signed form with entry materials the artist agrees to these terms.

This summer will see the return of our hugely successful annual international film festival which will take the form of BUS STOP CINEMA. The elysium gallery premises is situated besides one of Swansea’s busiest bus stops and so the gallery will be transformed into a cinema showing artists films throughout the day and early evenings during August 2011 in what will be Elysium gallery’s 5th annual film festival.
This year will also see us return to the Salem chapel at the hugely popular Hay-on-Wye Festival. This old chapel is a fantastic setting for films and last year’s films were viewed by thousands of people.
We are looking for films of all genres to showcase in both film events, please email the gallery for an application form and return to us by the specified deadline dates.
A selection of up to 3 films can be submitted and must be sent to the gallery on DVD format with the application form.
Submission fee is £5 to enter for both events and paid either by cheque or paypal.
All successful entrants will also receive a profile page on the elysium gallery web site and an annual subscription to our membership programme free of charge.

Appel à résidence : Centre de Création Artistique de la Montagne Thiernoise

La Communauté de Communes a accueilli pendant plus de 10 ans une compagnie de théâtre en résidence sur son territoire. Celle-ci était hébergée au Centre de Création Artistique de la Montagne Thiernoise, bâtiment intercommunal situé sur la commune de Viscomtat.

Depuis la fin de cette résidence, souhaitée fin 2009 par les élus de la CCMT, le bâtiment du Centre de Création Artistique de la Montagne Thiernoise est occupé par une association de gymnastique et trampoline.

La CCMT ne dispose donc plus d’accueil dédié à l’accueil en résidences. Cependant, les élus souhaitent poursuivre leur politique d’accueil en résidences  et d’aide à la création sur ce territoire. C’est pourquoi, il est question de s’engager dans l’accueil de résidences courtes en lien avec les prestataires d’hébergements du territoire sur le horssaison et autour de disciplines qui ne nécessitent pas forcément de lieu dédié.
Le projet

La CCMT met à disposition d’un artiste ou d’un groupe d’artistes les moyens nécessaires pour concevoir, écrire, achever, produire une oeuvre nouvelle ou pour préparer et conduire un travail original.

Les objectifs

- Développer les habitudes culturelles de la population,
- Dynamiser le territoire,
- Favoriser des liens culturels de proximité.

Plusieurs pistes de travail peuvent être envisagées :

Le programme Cité internationale des Arts est destiné à des artistes étrangers qui souhaitent développer un projet précis de création et de recherche à Paris.

L’INSTITUT FRANÇAIS prend en charge la location d’un atelier/logement, d’une surface d’environ 40m2, comprenant une salle de bain et une cuisine.
Tous frais et dépenses engagés en dehors de cette aide restent à la charge du candidat.

• Les candidats qui en font la demande doivent :
–    être engagés dans la vie professionnelle ;
–    parler français ou anglais ;
–    justifier de travaux antérieurs ;
–    être autonome dans la gestion de la résidence ;

Crossing Art Gallery is seeking submissions for “Going Green” a juried group exhibition of local and international artists that will be on view at Crossing Art Gallery from August 13 – September 11, 2011.  From the artists chosen for the “Going Green” exhibition, 2 artists will be selected to have a solo exhibition at Crossing Art Gallery in 2012 and have the option to participate in the Crossing Art Artist Residency Program in Nanjing, China.

“Going Green” will present innovative artworks and proposals that integrate natural systems with human patterns while celebrating continuity, uniqueness and place making. We are looking for local and international artists, architects, and designers to submit either artworks that explore contemporary meanings of “green” or proposals for sculptures, architectural models and design that fit in green
development public spaces.

Work submitted should have the power to transform, inspire or promote public awareness of green initiatives. Themes can range from the meaning of the color green to the green political party to issues concerning eco-systems, conservation, recycling and sustainability to what green cities might look like or what a green lifestyle might consist of. All creative persons are invited to submit any artwork or proposal that evokes some form or concept of “green”.  All media is acceptable including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, performance, installation, video and sculpture.

You must submit an application form, CD (please download an application form and CD checklist from www.crossingart.com> and follow instructions) and an entry fee of $40. All entry fees will be donated to the non-profit art organization, Queens Council on the Arts. Cal Gras is a house in Avinyó (Bages), a village of 2,200 inhabitants located in the heart of Catalonia, between Manresa and Vic, a rural setting one hour from Barcelona.
The centre has several workshops and rooms adapted forresearch, experimental and creative projects. The centre is designed to provide temporary accommodation to individuals and collectives, offering bedrooms, and a communal kitchen and dining room.
Cal Gras calls for applications for residencies for the development of creative projects.
Eligibility:
Artists from all fields (visual arts, performing, literary, musical and thought) to work and develop their creative projects at Cal Gras. Groups up to 5 people.
Duration:
Working residency of 7 days minimum to 90 days maximum during August to December 2011
Residency includes:
- Free accommodation in single or shared room(on request), with use of common spaces (kitchen, living rooms, etc.).
- Work spaces, meeting rooms, library, wifi. See the rooms’ features on the centre’s website
- The centre puts residents in touch with the locality, as well as place them in contact with services and providers of material required for projects.

Résidence d’artistes 2012, domaine d’Abbadia – Appel à candidatures
Contexte général
«NEKaTOENEa » est une ancienne ferme rénovée permettant depuis 1987 d’accueillir des artistes et des scientifiques en résidence, au cœur du Domaine d’Abbadia, à Hendaye.
Propriété du Conservatoire du littoral, site naturel protégé, site classé, le Domaine d’Abbadia offre une diversité de milieux naturels (littoral, prairies, forêt, verger, patrimoine bâti…) et de thèmes d’investigations en lien avec les sciences (géologie, faune, flore, environnement…).
De par sa situation géographique, au Pays Basque, entre France et Espagne, à la limite entre continent terrestre et espace océanique, la résidence est influencée par les notions de frontières (interétatiques, linguistiques, géographiques).

La résidence d’Artiste “NEKaTOENEa”, reçoit le soutien des partenaires suivants :
Conservatoire du littoral ; DRAC Aquitaine ; Conseil Régional d’Aquitaine ; Conseil Général des Pyrénées Atlantiques, Mairie d’Hendaye.

Le CPIE LITTORAL BASQUE est partenaire des acteurs de la protection et de la valorisation du littoral.

Ses objectifs sont de contribuer au Développement Durable du Littoral Basque en proposant un regard croisé sur les territoires, l’espace maritime et le patrimoine humain en conjuguant les approches scientifiques, environnementales et artistiques.

Call for proposals for artistic residencies 2011/2012 – Oficinas do Convento, Portugal
The Artistic Residency Programme is a project of promotion of artistic creation, centered in Art and Nature, which aims to explore an earth-connected knowledge, the construction of landscape and the traditional methods and technics. The Residencies will occur in sites with a strong patrimonial and artistic value and should contribute to the rescue of materials and resources. They will be centered in Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal, its historic and natural patrimony, and its inhabitants. The candidates can ask the Association for any information that can be used to the construction of their proposals. The residency lasts one month and is finalised by an exhibition.
The selected candidates will receive a 500EU grant, paid on the first day of Residency. During the Residency, the artists will be given the possibility to spend up to 750EU in production related materials, available only according to the presentation of the expense documents.
Ten grants will be given in the following areas:
- Two grants for projects in the area of “Public Spaces”;
- Four grants for projects in the area of “Sculpture / Ceramics”;
- Four grants for projects in the area of “Equipment Design / Ceramics”.

Savez-vous que les campagnes électorales prévoient que des milliers de bénévoles seront sur le terrain lundi pour inciter les sympathisants à aller voter ? Nous pourrons poser des questions aux candidats et présenter des plateformes jusqu’à épuisement… mais tout cela ne servira à rien si nous n’allons pas voter.

Mise en ligne des actes de colloque de la Conférence Res Artis 2010
Le Regroupement des centres d’artistes autogérés du Québec est heureux d’annoncer la mise en ligne des actes de colloque de la Conférence Res Artis 2010, qui s’est tenue à Montréal, du 6 au 10 octobre dernier.

Le site Internet du colloque a été remodelé pour y accueillir l’archivage vidéo complet de l’événement. Les conférences dans leur langue d’origine y sont toutes, ainsi que les traductions vers le français et l’espagnol. Ce site Internet est une mémoire collective démocratique de la conférence. C’est l’occasion d’entendre, de voir ou de revoir ces penseurs et artisans de la résidence d’artistes. 

Les actes de colloque numériques de la Conférence Res Aris 2010 sont le fruit d’un travail d’équipe. Les enregistrements vidéos on été fait par Monique Moumblow et Frédéric Lavoie, lequel s’est également chargé du montage. Les enregistrements audios ont été produits par la compagnie Duocom, puis montées par Mathieu Beauséjour, commissaire général de l’événement. Le site Internet a été réalisé par Patrick Vézina.

Intitulée Les Amériques : Pratiques artistiques indépendantes à l’ère de la mondialisation, la Conférence Res Artis 2010 a réuni 252 participants en provenance du Québec (111), du Canada (64) et de plusieurs autres pays (77), incluant les Pays-Bas, la Finlande, le Mexique, la Corée, le Japon, l’Australie, etc. Pendant trois jours, les délégués et les intervenants se sont penchés sur les questions liées aux résidences d’artistes et à l’autogestion artistique – deux phénomènes en expansion partout dans le monde et particulièrement au Québec. 

Le RCAAQ remercie l’ensemble des conférenciers, des participants et des partenaires de l’événement. Parmi ces partenaires, le RCAAQ tient aujourd’hui à remercier particulièrement le Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, qui a contribué financièrement à la production de ces actes de colloque numériques, ainsi que Patrimoine Canadien, pour son support à la traduction simultanée des conférences.

La tenue de la Conférence Res Artis 2010 à Montréal est une initiative du Regroupement des centres d’artistes autogérés du Québec. Le RCAAQ est le point de rencontre d’un réseau de soixante-et-onze centres d’artistes et organismes culturels répartis sur l’ensemble du territoire québécois. Le Réseau Art Actuel, une initiative du RCAAQ, est un repère Internet de l’actualité artistique québécoise. À l’aube de ses 25 ans, le Regroupement des centres d’artistes autogérés du Québec est une référence en art actuel.
