Zocalo, centre dédié à la recherche et à la création en art imprimé, invite les artistes à soumettre un projet d’exposition pour 2017-2018. Les propositions esthétiques qui questionnent et innovent seront privilégiées. Tous les dossiers reçus seront sélectionnés par un jury composé de représentants du centre et de professionnels du milieu des arts visuels. L’espace d’exposition se trouve dans les ateliers de travail.
Le dossier doit comprendre les documents suivants :

Emerging Digital Artists Award (EDAA) 2017
The Emerging Digital Artists Award (EDAA) is currently accepting applications for its 2017 award program. Founded on a desire to support and celebrate digital innovation in the arts, the EDAA caters to early-career artists who are working on-screen, and experimenting with the possibilities of digitally rendered imagery. Applicants are encouraged to play with moving image formats such as video, animation, and GIF art. Get inspired by visiting our website, which features various animations by Toronto-based Niki Sehmbi—our 2017 artist partner, whose eye-catching works can be seen across EDAA 2017 advertising.
This year, our feature artist is not the EDAA’s only exciting collaboration. For the first time, Equitable Bank and their digital banking operation, EQ Bank, are presenting the EDAA in partnership with a local arts organization. Trinity Square Video is Canada’s oldest media arts centre, and an ideal partner for the EDAA given their ongoing commitment to fostering the development of media arts in Canada through their exhibitions and other community programming. A space in Trinity Square Video’s annual Themed Commission program will be reserved for the EDAA 2017 winner, and all finalists will receive a year-long membership to the centre.
If you’re an emerging digital artist based in Canada, apply to the EDAA by completing an online application. The call will remain open until July 10, 2017.
What happens after I apply?
Applications will be juried by this year’s digital-savvy judging panel, including artists Erin Gee and Jennifer Chan, a representative of Trinity Square Video, and Equitable Bank’s resident art curator. Works will be considered against four main criteria:
- relevance, defined by the ways the work engages digital media in its process, presentation, and content;
- technique and demonstrated familiarity with the media;
- aesthetics, or the stylistic choices made by the artist in the work; and
- the 250-word written statement submitted with the application.
Based on their excellence in all areas, five finalists will be selected and invited to show their work in an exhibition at Trinity Square Video in Toronto from September 28 – October 12, 2017. All will be paid for their participation in the exhibition, in addition to the monetary prizes offered. Finalists will be contacted in August 2017.
The award winner will be announced at the EDAA’s closing event on October 5, and offered a $5,000 monetary award. The award includes Equitable Bank’s acquisition of the winning artwork, which will be displayed on-screen in our company’s head office in Toronto. The remaining four finalists each receive a $1,000 award.

Visuals Initiative of South Asia (V.I.S.A.) – Arts Festival would like to invite Artists from across Canada to make digital submissions for our annual Art Festival and Exhibition – “Creative & Cultural Celebrations” aimed at promoting South Asian Art. V.I.S.A. – Arts Festival is a curated exhibition and welcomes all levels of local and regional artists across Canada. We intend exhibiting a variety of two and three-dimensional art across all media including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, textiles, sculpture and mixed media. Select participating artists will have the opportunity to offer free workshops of their art form to public during the exhibition. Please mention if interested in this opportunity in your email.

Name images with your first and last name, followed by a number. Example: Janedoe01. Along with the images your submission must include a list with details of your artwork such as title, medium, size in your email. Image files should have a minimum resolution of 72 dpi.
Results will be emailed no later than June 20th, 2017 with further information. The curator will appraise work in accordance with the exhibition theme while looking for innovative work that successfully represents the objective of the art festival along with technical skill, form and concept.
FINAL SUBMISSION
All works accepted to the show must be ready for display. Work must be dry and ready to be hung. V.I.S.A. – Arts Festival reserves the right to reject unacceptable framing, works not ready to hang or works which are misrepresented on the digital submission.
If you are accepted, by submitting your entry you give V.I.S.A. – Arts Festival the right to publish your images for publicity purposes (credits to the artist will be included) for the current year and within all future promotions.
Delivery to and pick up from the exhibition venue of one’s own artwork is the responsibility of the artist. Final Works will be accepted if they are mailed or shipped, but costs incurred are the artist’s responsibility. Shipping insurance and that of the artwork is the responsibility of the applicant.
No entry may be withdrawn once it has been accepted. All artwork must be on display and cannot be removed from the exhibition for the entire duration of the festival even if the artwork is sold.
ABOUT THE CURATOR
In a career spanning over two decades Aparna Rangnekar has created works of art across a variety of styles, genres and substrates as a mode of exploring form, texture and different mediums. Her early works have been an assortment of abstract and expressionist experimentation and now has returned to her original passion of creating large scale murals over the last few years. Aparna’s unique style of using vibrant colours and bold textures to create striking compositions that have a childlike simplicity have fast become her signature.
An art educator at the Milton Centre for the Arts, Aparna is engaged with various art groups in the community and serves on the board of Arts Milton, a not-for-profit organization that promotes, facilitates and catalyzes Arts and Culture engagements in the community of Milton. She has facilitated several community art projects in the Greater Toronto Area and has over the past five years conceptualized and facilitated multiple community art projects for Ontario Culture Days in Milton.

2017 Temporary Contemporary | Call For Proposals

Launched in 2012, the Temporary Contemporary program is an annual
installation of a contemporary artwork on one of Sheridans campuses.
The program offers an opportunity for creators to incubate and
implement new ideas through exchange with Sheridans vibrant
interdisciplinary community. Previous participants have included Derek
Sullivan, Roula Partheniou, Jon Sasaki, and Rhonda Weppler and
Trevor Mahovsky. The 2017 Temporary Contemporary program invites
proposals from Indigenous artists across Canada to envision and
implement an installation at our Hazel McCallion Campus in
Mississauga. Sheridan is committed to developing a purposeful
response to the Truth & Reconciliation Commission of Canadas Calls
to Action. To that end, the 2017 Temporary Contemporary program will
focus on bringing voices together in conversation around Indigenous
experiences and values.
SITE
Sheridans Hazel McCallion Campus is located on the traditional
territorial lands of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation,
Anishinaabe Nation, Huron-Wendat, and the Haudenosaunee
Confederacy.
Please propose a work, executed in any medium (including
performance), situated with specificity in one of the indoor public
spaces of the Hazel McCallion Campus B-Wing.
FACILITIES + RESOURCES
The selected artist will have a home in the Centre for Indigenous
Learning and Support as well as the Institute for Creativity while
undertaking their project at Sheridan. We have a wide range of
technical resources and facilities across our campuses. Within a
defined scope, Sheridan can offer some support in developing and
building your work. Some examples of resources to consider:
Crafts Studios: Glass, Textiles, Woodworking, Ceramics, Industrial
Design
Advanced technologies such as immersive and augmented realities
Advanced Manufacturing technologies (rapid prototyping, waterjet
technology, laser, CNC)
ENGAGING STUDENTS
Consistent with Indigenous traditional teachings, our selection panel
seeks projects with a holistic approach to learning through the creative
process. A key component of the Temporary Contemporary program
will be to engage and mentor students across disciplines. Please
identify in your project description how you will involve students in the
process of creating and installing your work. We would like to
understand how you would inspire and guide students through sharing
your practices, journey, and experience as a professional artist. Some
possibilities could include workshops, or participation in the visioning
and fabrication of your work.
PUBLIC TALK
The artist who is selected to implement their project at Sheridan will
participate in a public talk that engages with Sheridan and its
communities about what was learned and what was shared through the
creation of the work.
SELECTION PROCESS + BUDGET
The selection panel will identify a shortlist of three proposals from the
applicant pool. We will invite the shortlisted artists to Sheridan to tour
our facilities and meet our panelists. During their visit, each candidate
will present their proposal and respond to questions from the panel.
The three shortlisted candidates will be awarded an honourarium of
$500 for travel expenses and time. The final successful candidate will
be provided with a $15,000 budget to cover all expenses of the project.
Our selection panel will be comprised of Sheridans Centre for
Indigenous Learning and Support Manager and Indigenous Initiatives
Coordinator, members of Sheridans Indigenous community, Sheridan
faculty, and Sheridans Creative Campus Galleries Curator.

Art Gallery of Burlington – Ceramic Courtyard Exhibition Call for Proposals
The Art Gallery of Burlington is welcoming proposals from professional ceramists for its annual ceramic exhibition in the Dan Lawrie Family Courtyard for the summer of 2018.
The Annual Courtyard Installation at the AGB is a site specific installation of ceramic work (some mixed media is permitted as long as the work is primarily ceramic), that reflects some aspect of the space, ranging from the architecture, to the plantings, to the social interaction contained within the space. The artist is encouraged to engage with the water feature and is asked that much of the work is installed on the ground cover and the walls. This exhibition space is used as a public area within the building, including a space for people to eat lunch, private receptions and weddings; the artist is asked to consider that the installation does not interfere with these other uses. This exhibition is open to mid or late career artists with a proven exhibition record.
The Dan Lawrie Family Courtyard at the Art Gallery of Burlington is an enclosed open space measuring approximately 49.6 x 59 feet (16 x 17 metres) with a total area of 2907 square feet, divided between 1406 square feet of hard surface and 1501 square feet of plantings. A water feature with a fountain with three jets flows into a pool with a stone slab bridge. There are three entrances to the courtyard which is on two levels. There is a broad set of three stairs and a wheel chair accessible ramp connecting the different levels. Three walls of the courtyard are one story tall with textured concrete walls and windows (making the installation viewable from inside the building), and the fourth wall is two and a half stories tall with textured concrete and is suitable for a wall mounted installation. There are four trees in the plantings and various low growing ground cover.

Surrey Art Gallery invites Call for Proposals for UrbanScreen
Submission Deadline: June 16, 2017
Imagined by artists and built by the City, Surrey’s UrbanScreen is Canada’s largest non-commercial outdoor urban screen dedicated to presenting digital and interactive art after dark. Surrey Art Gallery invites proposals for site-specific and responsive digital artworks for exhibition on Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre’s west façade at 13458 107A Avenue in Surrey. The deadline is Friday, June 16.
Submission Guidelines:
Proposals are to include a one-page introduction with links to additional information hosted on a website. Submit this one-page introduction via email with the subject line “UrbanScreen Proposal” to artgallery [arobas] surrey [point] ca. Files should be no larger than 1MB. For more information, visit surrey.ca/urbanscreen. Proposals will be reviewed by curatorial staff with support of the UrbanScreen Advisory Committee. Receipt of proposals will be acknowledged by a return email.
About UrbanScreen :
UrbanScreen uses high-powered data projectors to illuminate the entire west wall of the Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre with imagery generated by computers. Since its launch in 2010 as the Public Art feature of this recreation facility in Surrey’s City Centre, the Surrey Art Gallery has curated and partnered with artists and organizations to present a rotating program of exhibitions and events at UrbanScreen during an annual season that runs from September to May.
Artworks shown have been created using technology as diverse as the virtual piano, gaming engines, unmanned aerial video copters, and generative image and video databases, with interactive works using text messages to change content, the gyroscope and accelerometer of mobile devices to create movement, and the motion of SkyTrains and the tidal levels of the Fraser River to trigger the presentation and performance of the artworks. Beginning 30 minutes after sunset and ending at midnight, UrbanScreen is seen by visitors to the Recreation Centre and adjacent Youth Park, as well as SkyTrain passengers travelling between Gateway and Surrey Central stations (30,000+ people daily).

Artspace is dedicated to presenting work from contemporary artists working in a variety of disciplines. The centre strives to present art that reflects and promotes the diversity of cultural and political perspectives that shape contemporary art practices. Submissions from emerging, mid-career and senior artists whose works is alternative, experimental and/or critically engaged are welcome. The centre welcomes submissions from individual artists, curators, and collectives to apply with new or existing exhibition proposals. Artspace is seeking proposals for Gallery 1 and 2, as well as offsite and curatorial projects relevant to the centre’s mandate.

Video documentation should be uploaded to a site such as Youtube or Vimeo and linked in the application. Regardless of duration, please include full videos. Due to time constraints, the selections committee may only view up to 5 minutes of each video. Please note the clip you would prefer the jury view by including time marks in the documentation list.
Programming Policy
Proposals are judged in relation to Artspace’s mandate and programming focus. Submissions that arrive after each deadline will be held over until the next deadline. In order to present a cohesive yearly program, our committees review materials from both deadlines, and decisions are often not made for many months. Artist Call for Submission
One on One Gallery invites artists and designers to apply for a solo exhibition of their work in any media, to be accompanied with a visiting artist talk and studio/class visits. The proposed exhibitions are scheduled for the fall semester from November 9 to November 30, 2017, with the reception held on November 23, 2017, and the winter semester from March 2 to March 28, 2018, with the reception held on March 22nd, 2018. Proposals should consider the size and dimensions of the gallery space. Go to www.mhc.ab.ca/OneonOneGallery to view the gallery floor plan. At this point we do not accept group exhibition proposals.
One on One Gallery is an integral part of the Visual Communications Program at Medicine Hat College. Our Bachelor of Applied Arts (Visual Communications) degree program is one of a kind, in that we offer a blend of both fine arts and design. We use our One on One gallery as a teaching tool to enhance our student’s education by inviting professional artists and designers to showcase their work and bring contemporary and exciting ideas to our community. The gallery has over 2400 running feet of wall space, a state of the art lighting system, tall ceilings, and hardwood floors. It’s a very professional, clean, and exciting space.
An artist fee of $3000.00 will be awarded to the selected candidate. All travel, shipping costs and arrangements (delivery both ways) are to be covered by the selected candidate.
The artist must be in attendance for the reception where they will give an artist talk. They are also required to fulfill studio visits either the day before or after the reception date. These stipulations will be based on a contractual agreement and must be fulfilled before the artist fee is awarded.

Before the end of the day of Friday, July 14, 2017 local time. You will receive an acknowledgement of your submission shortly thereafter. Final notification will be made in early September.

New Adventures in Sound Art (NAISA) invites artists of all ages and nationalities to submit works on the theme Sonic Reflections for consideration in New Adventures in Sound Art’s 2018 programming.
Sound by its nature reflects in different ways depending on the environment in which it is experienced. These reflections help to give a place its character but they also can obscure elements of an environment. NAISA would like to celebrate the opening of its new facility – NAISA North Media Arts Centre – in South River Ontario with programming that is reflective of the past as well as using that reflection to inform future possibilities. For its 2018 programming, NAISA is interested in submissions that address the notion of Sonic Reflections and creative ways that this can be shared.
Preference in programming will be given to works that respond in some way to the theme Sonic Reflections. Individual interpretations or variations on the theme are encouraged, but should be realized with sound as the primary component. NAISA would also like to encourage artists to submit works on the theme for performance, interactive installation exhibit, audio-visual screening, radio or internet broadcast, telematics, VR/gaming, mobile experiences and any other emerging or alternative formats that include sound as a primary element. Please complete in full the online submission form and upload your audio by midnight on June 30, 2017. Note: there is a $5 submission fee in order to defray the cost of processing the submissions. All works chosen for presentation will receive an artist fee. Only those artists being considered for presentation will be contacted.

Southern Alberta Art Gallery (SAAG) Submission Guidelines
Exhibition proposals are accepted throughout the year and reviews are ongoing. Selection is carried out over a period of time through studio visits and correspondence with artists and curators in whom the gallery has an interest. Those interested in proposing their work to SAAG are asked to include with their submission: a curriculum vitae, an artist statement and/or letter of intent, a wide selection of images, and other relevant support material. The gallery will not return your submission – please do not send original artworks or valuable materials. Given the large number of submissions received by the gallery, formal letters of reply will only be issued to proposals of immediate interest.
Exhibitions are generally six weeks in length. An opening is held to introduce the work to the public. Artists are also invited to give an illustrated lecture on their work in conjunction with the University of Lethbridge Faculty of Fine Art during the academic year. Other special events (workshops, panel discussions, etc.) are considered on a case-by-case basis.
The Southern Alberta Art Gallery pays CARFAC fees, shipping and insurance, and often seeks funding to produce catalogues for the exhibition. All publications, including our quarterly newsletter GALLERY (which discusses and reproduces work by exhibiting artists along with other programming), are exchanged with other institutions in Canada and abroad.

Cultures of Silence: Invisible Violence is a transatlantic call for video/performance works that happens in between Latin America and the Nordic and Baltic Countries*. The call looks for works that respond, discuss, resist and expand their visions towards the explicit representations of violence, promoted by massive media and building a violent aesthetics with stereotypical basis, polarizing the understanding in a binary system (good/bad, white/black, first world/third world…) invisibilizing the complexity of the subtle violence’s and the relation between them.
By being directed at 2 continents, this open call seeks to compose a screening selection with different aesthetics, geography’s, economies and political perspectives of violence; it is a subtle open call that asks about the origin of violence, its assimilation, dispersion and transmission.
The following questions can help as a guide: How to reveal violence? How to react, how to make it visible without reproducing it? What are the possible actions to resist and reject violence? How can local performance practices be contextualized in global events when they refer to specific situations? What are the mechanisms in performance practice that can be developed beyond the art scene, affecting other audiences?

2e édition du Concours de Photographie de la Grotte ornée du Pont-d’Arc, dite Grotte Chauvet
Le Concours a pour objectif d’offrir au photographe lauréat l’opportunité exceptionnelle de pénétrer dans la Grotte pour y mener un reportage photographique destiné plus particulièrement à la jeunesse.
Dans un objectif pédagogique, il permettra ainsi au plus grand nombre d’accéder, à travers le regard d’un artiste, à ce trésor inestimable réalisé il y a plus de 36 000 ans et réunissant plus de 450 peintures d’animaux dans un environnement remarquablement protégé.
Ce Concours est organisé par l’Association pour la Mise en Valeur de la Grotte ornée du Pont-d’Arc, dite Grotte Chauvet, avec le parrainage du ministère de la Culture et de la Communication, en partenariat avec la DRAC Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes et le Syndicat Mixte Grand Projet La Caverne du Pont-d’Arc, et en lien avec la conservation de la Grotte.
CRITÈRES DE PARTICIPATION : L’appel à candidatures est ouvert à tout photographe professionnel sans considération d’âge ni de nationalité. Les candidats devront concevoir un projet en couleurs, réalisable dans la cavité et justifier de leur aptitude à produire en milieu fragile et souterrain. Le jury désignera le lauréat sur la qualité et l’originalité de son projet photographique dans sa dimension documentaire, artistique et pédagogique, ainsi que sur sa faisabilité au sein de la Grotte.

Conditions
1- PARTICIPANTS
Artists wishing to participate must be over 18 years old.
2- WORKS
a) Each artist or group of artists may submit up to two works.
b) Video installations will not be accepted.
c) No works are accepted with a date prior to 2015.
d) The works may be submitted on AVI, MOV, MP4 or MPEG. The file should be labeled with title,
length and author.
You can send a download link to the video file that can be found in any of the currently used
standard formats (AVI, MOV, MP4 or MPG) and must be encoded with any of the following codec:
H.264 AVC or MPEG-4 MPEG 2-4. We recommend that the file does not exceed 1GB (one gigabyte)
in size, for easy downloading of the video. We recommend a minimum height of frame 720.
e) The recommended maximum duration of 20 minutes.
f) The theme will be free.
g) May not be submitted works that have been presented in previous editions of FIVA
h) The video must be spoken or subtitled in Spanish

Rencontres Internationales Sciences & Cinémas (RISC) 2017
La 11e édition des RISC se déroulera du 24 au 29 novembre 2017 dans différents lieux du centre-ville de Marseille.

Il y a cent ans, une révolution ébranla le monde et suscita dans le cœur de l’humanité opprimé un immense espoir. Si le projet social et politique qu’elle portait n’a pas tenu ses promesses, il n’en est pas de même de celles des avant-gardes artistiques et poétiques qui germèrent dans la tourmente de ce début du XXe siècle. L’art vidéo est la fille indomptable de ces passions créatrices.
Désorientés par l’idéologie marchande qui fabrique de l’oubli, ils sont rares qui encore y songent à ces artistes qui voulurent détruire les vieux langages pour ouvrir la voie à de nouveaux possibles. Nous rendrons hommage à celui qui a le mieux incarné ces enthousiasmes révolutionnaires dont nous avons tant besoin pour irriguer notre présent asséché, le poète électronique Gianni Toti qui nous a tiré sa révérence il y a dix ans.
Depuis leur fondation, les Instants Vidéo en ont entendu des chants funéraires annonçant la mort des arts vidéo ensevelis sous des linceuls langagiers passagers tels que images en mouvements, art numérique… L’art vidéo n’a cessé d’embrasser toutes les technologies de l’image, toutes les disciplines artistiques, tous les styles, non par souci d’adaptation à son temps et aux modes esthétiques, mais pour en rire. Pour le plaisir jubilatoire de distribuer des gifles aux goûts du public cultivé, normé, satisfait. C’est pourquoi, nous rendrons aussi hommage à Jacques Rouxel, le père des Shadoks : « Pour qu’il y ait le moins de mécontents possibles, il faut toujours taper sur les mêmes ».
Bref, l’art vidéo est un état d’esprit.
Que vous soyez artistes vidéo ou numériques, expérimentaux, poètes électroniques, performeurs shadokiens, militants révolutionnaires, amants dogmatiques de la liberté, danseurs sur les étoiles, ripailleurs, voyous ou rêveurs de sensualités inédites, nous ne serons jamais de trop pour souffler les trente bougies d’un festival qui n’a qu’un seul objectif : accompagner les désirs qui font désordre.

The RESÒ network is happy to announce the open call for the seventh edition of the International Artistic Residency programs and educational programs based in the Piedmont Region, Italy. For this year, mutual exchanges is in partnership with Artport (Tel Aviv, Israel) and lugar a dudas (Cali, Colombia), each hosting an artist residing in Piedmont for a 6-9-week period between September and November 2017. RESÒ Lab also proposes a three-week reciprocal residence in collaboration with the CAIRN Art Center (Digne Les Bains, France).

La DRAC Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, la DAAC du rectorat de Clermont-Ferrand & VIDEOFORMES recherchent des artistes pour une résidence dans un établissement scolaire du secondaire (Académie de Clermont-Ferrand : Allier, Cantal, Haute-Loire, Puy-de-Dôme).
Contexte
La DRAC Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, la DAAC du rectorat de Clermont-Ferrand et VIDEOFORMES travaillent en partenariat en vue d’organiser quatre résidences d’artiste durant l’année scolaire 2017-2018. Ces résidences se dérouleront dans un établissement scolaire de l’enseignement secondaire de l’académie et devront tisser des partenariats avec les autres acteurs de proximité (écoles, lieux et acteurs culturels,) afin que la résidence d’artiste s’inscrive pleinement dans le développement culturel du territoire concerné.
I – Principe des résidences
La résidence d’artiste dans un établissement scolaire est une opportunité offerte à un artiste pour lancer ou poursuivre une recherche personnelle.
Les résidences auront lieu durant l’année scolaire 2017-2018 (hors congés scolaires). L’organisation concrète des plages d’interventions sera laissée à l’appréciation de chaque établissement en concertation avec l’artiste.
Durant la résidence, 30 % du temps doit être consacré à la médiation entre les différents partenaires et l’artiste. Ces interventions pourront prendre la forme d’ateliers de pratique, de présentations publiques, de conférences, etc., pendant le temps scolaire ou extra scolaire. Les 70 % restant seront consacrés par l’artiste à sa recherche.
Ces résidences visent à amener les jeunes à questionner leur rapport au monde, en mettant en perspective les propositions artistiques, porteuses de sens, avec les enjeux de l’époque contemporaine. En s’appuyant sur sa démarche de création et les ateliers de pratique qu’il animera dans le temps scolaire ou périscolaire, l’artiste en résidence sensibilisera ainsi les jeunes, et plus largement les publics concernés sur le territoire, au fait artistique et à ses prolongements. Il/elle mènera une démarche de création, sans obligation de résultat, et d’éducation artistique en direction de publics scolaires ou de publics ciblés sur le territoire d’implantation de l’établissement scolaire.
Les résidences se dérouleront sur une durée de huit semaines. La répartition de ces semaines durant l’année scolaire 2017-2018 sera modulée en fonction du projet pédagogique des établissements scolaires et des nécessités liées au champ de création de l’artiste.
Du début de sa résidence à son terme, l’artiste sera en contact étroit avec VIDEOFORMES qui en assure le suivi et proposera – selon les possibilités du moment – des rencontres, présentations publiques ou expositions.
II – Hébergement, restauration, conditions matérielles
L’hébergement de l’artiste se situera au sein même de l’établissement dans un logement meublé et doté des éléments de confort courants.
L’artiste en résidence disposera d’un atelier au sein de l’établissement, équipé d’une connexion internet haut débit accessible 24h/24. Dans l’établissement, un enseignant sera désigné comme référent (interlocuteur privilégié) et s’impliquera activement dans le suivi de la résidence.
III – Champ artistique
Seuls les champs de la création de l’art vidéo et des arts numériques sont éligibles à ce programme de résidences.
La résidence invite à appréhender le travail de création de l’artiste dans un dialogue avec les acteurs du territoire concerné, de telle sorte que l’art soit source d’une approche critique de l’époque et de ses enjeux.
IV – Honoraires de l’artiste et frais divers
Le montant de l’allocation s’élève à 5000 euros (charges sociales incluses). Les fais de déplacement de l’artiste sont à sa charge. L’allocation sera versée par l’association VIDEOFORMES.
Un budget de production artistique n’est pas prévu pour la création qu’il ou elle pourrait mener durant sa résidence.
V – Dossier de candidature et modalités de sélection des artistes
Sélection des artistes :
courant Juin 2017 : le comité de sélection (composé de représentants de la Drac, de la Daac et de VIDEOFORMES) examinera l’ensemble des dossiers de candidature. Il retiendra tous les artistes qui répondront au niveau d’exigence artistique et éducative nécessaire à la réussite d’une résidence. Ces artistes doivent avoir exercé leur activité professionnelle dans le domaine concerné depuis au moins 3 ans.
Cas particulier des artistes vivant en Auvergne : ceux-ci ne pourront être en résidence que sur un établissement situé hors du département où ils vivent ou travaillent habituellement.
La sélection s’appuiera sur un dossier de candidature comprenant :
un panorama des productions récentes,
un curriculum vitae (intégrant les informations sur le statut professionnel) dans lequel les artistes mentionneront leur parcours artistique et, éventuellement, les différentes expériences de résidences ou d’interventions en milieu scolaire ou extra-scolaire qu’ils ont pu mener,
une note expliquant en quoi ce projet de résidence croise les enjeux liés à leur pratique artistique.
Le dossier pourra contenir des reproductions, des vidéos, des maquettes sonores, et tout document que l’artiste jugera utile de communiquer au comité de sélection. Dossiers sur supports physiques et numériques seront acceptés (sur clé USB).
Une fois le processus de sélection achevé et quelle qu’en soit l’issue, les dossiers seront retournés aux artistes, qui auront pris soin de fournir une enveloppe affranchie au tarif en vigueur.

Zocalo, centre dédié à l’art imprimé, privilégie la recherche et la création en art actuel par son programme de Résidence d’artistes s’adressant aux professionnels désireux d’explorer de nouvelles avenues en art imprimé.
Les artistes sélectionnés auront la possibilité de créer des œuvres ou de réaliser une édition dans l’une ou l’autre des techniques pratiquées au centre. Zocalo dispose d’espaces de travail permettant la réalisation d’estampes en impression numérique, en relief et en creux.

Les statuts de la cité prévoient en effet que pour y être admis, la venue de l’artiste doit s’inscrire dans le cadre d’un projet précis soutenu institutionnellement (venue sur invitation d’une structure culturelle française, ou sur envoi d’une structure culturelle du pays de résidence de l’artiste, pour une réalisation spécifique). Cette institution doit soutenir financièrement le projet, et donc le séjour de l’artiste à Paris.
D’autre part, la cité prévoit dans ses statuts que les artistes soient étrangers ou en mobilité internationale.

Atelier Topaz – résidence Opasatika, Ontario, Canada
Le lieu
Situés au cœur de la forêt boréale, les Ateliers Topaz sont à la fois un lieu de retraite et un centre de création pour artistes, toutes disciplines confondues. L’endroit parfait pour la réflexion, l’évasion. Le groupement d’édifices fait 900 mètres carrés et repose sur 14 hectares face à la route Transcanadienne. Il donne sur un étang de deux hectares. Topaz c’est la « Route 66 » dans le nord de l’Ontario. L’endroit, modeste et nostalgique, rappelle aussi les grandes épopées de la colonisation francophone de l’Ontario. Ces studios de création ou cette résidence d’artistes, endroit idéal pour les arts visuels, sont situés au centre du Canada, à mi-chemin entre l’Atlantique et le Pacifique, là où les étoiles deviennent les topazes de la nuit.
Ce qu’on offre
D’abord l’espace et, l’espace de travail déterminés selon les besoins de l’artiste. Les espaces polyvalents permettent d’y faire de la peinture, de la sculpture, de l’installation, etc. L’atelier de menuiserie, le Bar à clou, est équipé des outils de base. Un magasin d’objets trouvés est disponible autant pour l’inspiration que pour l’utilisation dans une œuvre. Le peintre apporte ses pinceaux, le musicien son instrument et l’écrivain son ordi.
Les personnes qui séjournent aux Ateliers Topaz jouissent de l’accès à la cuisine et sont responsables de préparer leurs repas. Toutefois Laurent peut aussi leur cuisiner de petits plats typiquement canadiens-français aux besoins ou aux désirs. Topaz possède deux suites avec lit double et une chambre avec lit simple. Chacune possède sa salle de toilette avec douche. Ces installations évoquent admirablement le style des années 1960. Pour la baignade, le Lac des Cœurs se situe à deux kilomètres à l’est. Pour le canotage ou la pèche, la rivière Opasatika est deux kilomètres à l’ouest. Pour se déplacer, il y a de vieux vélos ou la marche. Pour un frais très raisonnable, votre hôte peut aussi vous conduire ou organiser un déplacement vers Kapuskasing à l’est ou vers Hearst à l’ouest. Les matériaux d’artistes ne sont pas disponibles dans la région. Il est donc important de faire vos achats avant votre séjour, à moins que vous travailliez avec des matériaux que l’on peut se procurer dans des magasins ordinaires ou même en nature.

(EOI) to create a permanent outdoor public artwork as part of the
redevelopment of Oakville Arena and Trafalgar Park. The successful
artist will have their work featured at the north entrance of the
redeveloped facility which will be renamed the Trafalgar Park
Community Centre.
Professional Canadian artists and artist-led teams are invited to submit
Expressions of Interest by June 15, 2017.
An artwork proposal is not required at this time. This is a two-stage
process.
During stage one of the competition, applicants will be reviewed on the
basis of the merit of past work, professional qualifications and
experience. Refer to submission details in the EOI document. In stage
two shortlisted artists will be required to submit an artwork concept
proposal and model. Short listed artists will be paid an artist fee of
$1500 to develop their proposals. The selected artist will then enter a
contract with the Town of Oakville for the artwork creation and
installation phase of the project. The successful artist will have a
maximum budget of $90,000 to create the artwork.
The public art concept will be selected by a specially-convened
independent committee made up of visual arts professionals,
community representatives and town staff. The project will be awarded
in November 2017, installed during the summer of 2018 and unveiled
when the Trafalgar Park Community Centre opens to the public in

The New Art Center’s Curatorial Opportunity Program (COP) is currently accepting proposals for contemporary art exhibitions involving two or more artists and at least one public program.
This open-call program supports independent curators of contemporary art by making diverse visions possible in a non-profit and alternative exhibition space. The program investigates contemporary culture through the visual arts, exhibits strong curatorial voices, and encourages the timely examination of new ideas and perspectives. Curators of accepted proposals receive a 1,000 USD stipend as well as administrative, installation, marketing & P.R. support.

– Proposals must include works by two artists or more.
– Proposals must include one public program with an educational component; more than one is encouraged.

FACETTES est un espace de collaboration, de débat et de recherche de la scène artistique
transfrontalière franco-belge (Hauts-de-France, Wallonie et Bruxelles).
Éditée par 50° nord réseau transfrontalier d’art contemporain, cette revue annuelle et gratuite
examine les données et enjeux de la création contemporaine dans le champ des arts plastiques et visuels. Chaque numéro est l’occasion de s’interroger sur une thématique, de l’explorer sous
différentes perspectives, de porter des regards croisés sur ce qui fait l’actualité de l’art.
FACETTES affirme l’exigence de son contenu dans la multiplicité des approches et des points de vue. Artistes, designers, critiques d’art, commissaires, universitaires, jeunes chercheurs et autres acteurs du monde de l’art sur la scène eurorégionale et européenne, contribuent ainsi au développement de la revue.
