Fort Gallery is a non-profit, artist-run center situated on the banks of the Fraser River,
in the historic town of Fort Langley, on unceded q”ic”y” (Katzie), q”‘:n””n” (Kwantlen),
Mthekwi (Matsqui), and semyame (Semiahmoo) territory.
Fort Gallerys mission is to cultivate public appreciation for contemporary art and to
support the work of contemporary artists. To achieve this, we prioritize providing artists
with resources. Artists are given exhibition space, critical direction, artist fees,
administrative support, photographic documentation, and technical support required to
realize their projects. Each artist has different needs, and we strive to address these
individually. By lowering barriers, we hope to encourage artists to take risks and
experiment with their practices.
We are seeking proposals for
solo and group exhibitions and exhibitions organized by
artists, independent curators or collectives for our October 2022- December 2023
programming year. Exhibitions run 6-8 weeks.
The Fort Gallery welcomes and encourages submissions from emerging and
established artists of all abilities, ages, cultures, ethnicities, citizenships, gender
identities, and races. We welcome submissions of ideas/proposals, completed works,
and works in progress.
Selected exhibitions will receive CARFAC fees. For group exhibitions, the solo
exhibition fee will be split between all participating artists.

BIENALSUR invites artists and curators from all over the world to submit their works and/or curatorial research projects to be included in the programme of its fourth edition to be held in 2023.
The deadline to apply to the International Open Call is Friday, May 27, 2022, at 6pm (GMT-3). Applications will be submitted online, through a specially designed platform available here.
This new call to participate in BIENALSUR is open to artists and curators of any nationality regardless of gender, age, or any other category, who may present individual or collective proposals on any topic within the horizon of contemporary theories of art and culture, seeking to contribute to reflecting upon, problematizing, or providing other views and approaches to the multiplicity of life experiences of our time.
One of the purposes of BIENALSUR is to contribute to the creation of a cultural citizenship from the south of the world. Its particular format and collaborative approach seek to integrate the art of each region into the international scene not just as a mere diversity quota, but on an equal footing based on its singularities and relative positions. Therefore, one of the objectives of this project is the creation of a space that contributes to the development of critical thinking beyond the major canonical narratives. It also aims to promote the emergence of alternative practices within the world of art and culture, both in the production of ideas and works and in their exhibition, circulation and consumption modalities.
How does the International Open Call towards BIENALSUR 2023 work?
The submission of artwork and/or curatorial research projects for BIENALSUR 2023 will be made via an online platform. The entire application process is free of charge.
Upon registration applicants will have the possibility to register in four different categories: individual artist, group artist, individual curator and group curator. A single submission can be made for each of these categories. In order to complete the application procedure correctly, you can access a step-by-step instruction guide that will assist in uploading the required information. The platform is dynamic and functional, allowing applicants to save and correct their submissions as many times as necessary before submitting them.
We are not looking for projects that conform to pre-established topics, as these will emerge from a recurrence of topics within the total set of proposals. This will give rise to an international cartography in line with the concerns and experiences currently addressed by artists and curators. All the projects submitted will be considered for the drafting of the Axes, regardless of whether they are selected or not, so we wish to thank you for joining the BIENALSUR Community through this application.

As part of Open Studio’s ongoing commitment to becoming a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive organization, we are excited to share that our next calls for residencies and exhibitions are directed to artists who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People(s) of Colour. Our Visiting Artist Residency call is directed specifically to Black artists interested in print. Griffin Art Projects is committed to providing support, resources, and profile for
Indigenous artists. This is a studio-only residency opportunity intended for artists living
in the metro-Vancouver area.
The successful applicant receives:
” 2 months of rent-free studio space in Griffin Art Projects residency building in July

Le Centre SAGAMIE invite les artistes en art actuel de toutes les disciplines à déposer leur dossier pour les programmes de résidences de Recherche/création sur l’image numérique et de Recherche/création en micro-édition.
Les artistes sont accueillis dans un laboratoire numérique de production et sont soutenus par une équipe technique chevronnée, de manière continue et dans une perspective de soutien à long terme. Ces résidences de courtes durées peuvent s’inscrire à différentes étapes dans le processus créatif de l’artiste.

sur l’image numérique
Axées sur le traitement numérique de l’image et sur son impression grand format, cette résidence permet aux artistes d’initier et/ou de réaliser des projets avec de l’aide technique et des retours critiques. Elle offre la possibilité d’élaborer des stratégies singulières pour générer, transformer ou diffuser l’image. Notre laboratoire comprend plusieurs imprimantes numériques grand format et des postes de travail complets (logiciels de traitement de l’image, numériseurs grand format, tablettes graphiques, etc.). L’artiste a accès à un studio de création privé afin de tester la mise en espace de ses impressions.

Cette résidence offre la possibilité de réfléchir la publication en tant qu’espace autonome de création. Elle permet l’expérimentation sur place en développant autant le contenu littéraire que l’objet/livre lui-même. Ce moment de recherche laisse place à l’innovation, aux pratiques transversales et aux hybridations. SBC Galerie d’art contemporain lance de nouveau son programme de résidence d’artiste, initié dans les premiers temps de la pandémie. Cette résidence vise à donner un soutien aux artistes en offrant un espace, physique et virtuel, de recherche et d’expérimentation, ainsi qu’une aide à la production afin d’approfondir l’étude d’un champ d’intérêt délimité par l’artiste.
Durant une période de 5 semaines, le-la-lo résident-e aura accès à différentes ressources pour l’accompagner dans le développement de son projet. Nous invitons l’artiste à s’approprier l’espace de la galerie, à investir le lieu afin d’y présenter des étapes de développement du projet pour une ouverture au public. En concertation avec l’artiste, des événements ou interventions de médiation avec le public pourront être mis en place afin de faire découvrir la pratique et le processus de travail de l’artiste. Ceux-ci pourront être multiples et variés : conversation, atelier, take over instagram, ou toute autre forme développée par l’artiste.

Unionale: Request for Artist Proposals

Project Overview
The City of Toronto invites practicing artists (including artist teams and collectives) to
submit their proposals for the first edition of Unionale, a new public art thoroughfare
currently under construction in Union Station.
The artist(s) will be selected through an open, one-stage competition. The finalist will
be awarded an artist contract and will be paid a fee of $25,000.00 (+HST) for design
and consultation services (including contract administration, project management,
travel and other incidental expenses), working closely with staff of Economic
Development & Culture and the Union Station programming team; and other
partners to refine their concept proposal to the requirements of the site and other
conditions for project realization.
City of Toronto staff are organizing the Call for Artists,
facilitating a jury and project
selection. Collaborating with the artist and the design team, the Union programming
team will manage all aspects of the production of the work, including budget,

StreetARToronto Just Us Art Project Requirements
For this Request for Concept Descriptions, the City of Toronto is seeking submissions from street, mural and graffiti artists or artist collectives who have access to a wall exposed to city streets with written authorization from the property owner granting the artist permission to paint their mural concept on the wall.
All projects must be located in Toronto.
The goal of this Request for Concept Descriptions is to establish a roster of projects eligible to participate in the StART “Just Us” Art Project. An Advisory Panel will select up to 10 projects from the roster to receive up to $3,000 toward the creation of their project.
Background and Objectives
“Just Us” art call is a request for mural art proposals in support and recognition of Black lives and the rights of Indigenous Peoples, produced by StreetARToronto (StART) in collaboration with Nia Centre for the Arts and 7th Generation Imagemakers. The “Just Us” art call seeks mural concepts that create awareness surrounding social injustice, equity, race relations and community engagement. Project proposals should speak to historic and current social issues and movements within Black, Indigenous and BIPOC communities, and the importance, benefits and opportunities to build a better future through inclusion, collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Overview of Artist Selection Process
Artist submissions will be received on a rolling basis at the end of each month on May 30, June 30, July 30, and August 30 2022. Applicants will be notified on or around June 15, July 15, August 15, September 15, 2022.
Submissions will be reviewed by an Advisory Panel composed of at minimum: two representatives with an arts equity and inclusion background and one StART staff who will select up to 10 concepts to receive funding toward the installation of their mural.

The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA) is pleased to invite applications for 2022 MMCA International Research Fellowship. The program is open to the art research professionals including curators, art historians, critics and museum staff, who are interested in developing and sharing their research ideas related to Korean modern and contemporary art.
Program
The two selected participants conduct their individual scholarly research for 10 weeks from September 29 to December 8. At the end of the program, MMCA holds a seminar opened to the public in which they present research papers. The participants are paired with advisors who provide intellectual support and guidance throughout the program. They have access to all exhibitions, international conferences, and events of MMCA where they can engage in conversations with museum staffs, artists and intellectuals and discuss about the topics they are focusing on. The fellowship also includes visits to other museums, gallery shows, biennales, and residencies in Korea.
As part of Cultural Partnership Initiative Project (CPI), MMCA International Research Fellowship is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea. Accordingly, only the professionals who hold citizenship of the ODA (Official Development Assistance) recipient countries (defined by the OECD) are eligible to apply. Job Description:

The primary responsibilities of the RA include:
Historic research to update databases.
Support the development of the database by researching, sourcing and preparing images, writing copy, and sourcing information.

Have experience working in heritage, museums, or galleries
Have proven research skills
