Vous êtes invités à soumettre une proposition d’exposition en art actuel pour l’année de programmation 2010-2011.

· avoir une formation spécialisée dans le domaine ou être reconnu par ses pairs ou être artiste émergent en art contemporain ou commissaire avec un projet à soumettre

COLLABORATION SPÉCIALE ENTRE DAZIBAO ET PRIM
DATE LIMITE > 1ER OCTOBRE
Dazibao et PRIM s’unissent pour offrir une occasion exceptionnelle à un artiste de produire et de diffuser une oeuvre. La proposition retenue tiendra compte des spécificités respectives des deux organismes et devra par conséquent soulever des problématiques propres à la photographie tout en n’ayant crainte d’y confronter l’audio, la vidéo et le traitement numérique.
L’artiste retenu disposera d’un an pour réaliser son projet. Les équipements de PRIM seront accessibles à l’artiste pour l’équivalent d’une somme maximale de 8 000$, selon les taux d’utilisation en vigueur. (PRIM se réserve le droit de limiter le nombre d’heures par secteur). PRIM offrira à l’artiste l’équivalent de 1 000$ de formation audio et/ou vidéo (non monnayable ou transférable). Une somme forfaitaire de 2 000$ sera offerte aux artistes provenant de l’extérieur de Montréal en guise de frais de subsistance.
Le projet sera ensuite présenté dans le cadre de la programmation de Dazibao et bénéficiera de tout l’encadrement logistique ainsi que promotionnel accordé aux programmations régulières du centre. L’artiste recevra un droit d’exposition et des droits de reproduction selon les barèmes (RAAV, CARFAC) en vigueur.

X, le Festival de la photo d’Ottawa est fier de recevoir la première édition du « Slideluck Potshow Ottawa » dans le cadre des événements de l’édition 2009 de X Hors Limites.
Basé à New York, l’organisme artistique à but non-lucratif « Slideluck Potshow » permet, le temps d’une soirée mémorable, la réunion d’artistes et d’amateurs d’art autour d’un gargantuesque repas-partage dans un contexte de diffusion artistique convivial. Né il y a huit ans dans une cour de Seattle, cet événement désormais d’envergure internationale et qui attirent partout sur son passage de nombreuses foules, débarque à Ottawa le 17 octobre.
Joignez -vous à nous pour la première édition du SLPS Ottawa, pour une soirée inoubliable alliant présentation multimédia (slideshow) et échange culinaire (potluck) ! L’événement est gratuit à la condition de nous partager vos talents artistiques et culinaires en soumettant vos photos ou vos plats préférés!
Nous présenterons un diaporama mettant en valeur les oeuvres d’artistes établis et de la relève en provenance de la région d’Ottawa-Gatineau et de l’étranger. Photo journalistes, peintres, sculpteurs, acteurs, stylistes, artistes photographe présenteront leurs oeuvres côte à côte dans une atmosphère authentique et décontractée. Parmi les collaborateurs précédents se retrouvent: The Guggenheim Foundation, Edward Burtynsky, Elliott Erwitt, Martin Parr et Spencer Tunick.
Le thème de l’événement d’Ottawa est l’inclusion/exclusion et son rôle dans la pratique de la photographie contemporaine. Prière de noter que le diaporama se divise en deux parties, une thématique et l’autre libre.

La collection «Livres d’artistes» permet aux artistes professionnels d’investir l’espace du livre comme support de création visuelle et littéraire à part entière. Les projets proposés doivent constituer des œuvres en elles-mêmes, qui conjuguent de manière originale l’écrit et l’image photographique. Dans le cadre de sa programmation 2010-2011, le Centre d’artistes Caravansérail invite les artistes de la relève en arts visuels, ainsi que les commissaires en début de carrière, à soumettre leur dossier pour un projet d’exposition ou tout autre projet spécifique [performance, projet hors les murs…] pouvant s’inscrire dans le cadre de ses activités.
De plus, le centre invite les artistes de la relève et les artistes établis en arts visuels à s’associer en duo afin de soumettre leur dossier pour un projet d’exposition. Cette association peut se traduire sous différentes formules de partenariat (création d’oeuvres en duo, création à partir d’un thème commun, assise théorique similaire, chaîne causale, contrainte formelle commune, etc.) et peut combiner différentes disciplines (ex : livre d’art et vidéo). Les projets soumis devront utiliser la réciprocité comme mode opératoire de création, l’idée étant d’intégrer l’artiste associé dans le processus de création. Notez qu’au moins un des deux artistes impliqués doit résider dans la région du Bas-Saint-Laurent.

DESCRIPTION DU PROJET
Le Programme d’art public de la Ville d’Ottawa invite les artistes intéressés à soumettre leur candidature pour la conception d’une oeuvre d’art public qui agrémentera le nouveau centre de la petite enfance Huron. L’oeuvre ou les oeuvres à réaliser doivent être originales et attrayantes pour les jeunes utilisateurs du centre et susciter leur interaction et leur jeu créatif. L’oeuvre devrait comporter un élément éducatif inspirant adapté aux usagers de l’installation. De plus, elle devrait aussi tenir compte de l’orientation écologique du bâtiment et utiliser des matériaux écologiquement viables.

BUDGET

In 2010 participating artists have an opportunity to not only win prize money, but also have their artwork promoted to guests and international media in British Columbia for the 2010 Vancouver/Whistler Olympic and Paralympic Games. Prize money is awarded to the winners of the event’s categories and special awards, as decided by a panel of judges and the public. There will not be a performance in 2010. Help Transform the new Woodward’s Development
The City of Vancouver invites non-profit organizations to respond to a Request for Proposal (RFP) for generic office and assembly space in the new Woodward’s development at Hastings and Abbott Street. The RFP is open to any Vancouver based non-profit organization with a social, cultural or artistic mandate that wishes to lease space in the project. Note the space will be tenanted by a number of non profit organizations and is intended for office and assembly uses (meeting rooms, learning space, etc). It is not suitable for any uses that require specialized tenant improvements.
This RFP process is the third and final call for proposals for non profit space in Woodward’s. Successful proponents will be joining AIDS Vancouver and W2 Community Media Arts Society (purpose built space) and the W2 Café (social enterprise space). Applications for the non profit office/assembly space will be reviewed by a Selection Panel who will make recommendations to City Council for their approval.

Toronto Transit Commission – WOODBINE STATION
The Toronto Transit Commission is planning upgrades and improvements to Woodbine Subway Station. These station improvements have created an exciting opportunity for the integration of public art. The TTC is holding a Two-Stage Competition to select an Artist or Artist Team to develop a design proposal for an integrated artwork concept.
The Artist will be required to work with the design team and the technical team to develop their concept, including technical documentation to be used for the purpose of public tender of the Woodbine Subway Station. The Scope of Work will include all stages of the development and oversight of the installation of the artwork from conception to completion including attendance at 12 or more meetings.
The budget for the winning artist’s design fee is $30,000 (Canadian, plus GST if applicable).
The Toronto Transit Commission is inviting Artists to request Prequalification Statements which outline the submission materials required for Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the Competition.

TRUCK currently facilitates exhibitions and projects in three venues: the Main Gallery, the +15 window project, and CAMPER. As TRUCK aims to support a wide range of artistic practices, the gallery encourages submissions for offsite projects by artists who work is not easily presented within a traditional gallery space. When compiling a submission package for TRUCK, please read the following guidelines carefully and complete the attached application form. ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A COMPLETED APPLICATION FORM TO BE CONSIDERED. This form is the first thing the Programming Committee will see, and it will be used throughout the process as a quick reference guide, so please fill it out carefully and with this in mind.
The TRUCK Programming Committee selects proposals through a peer review process. The Committee is comprised of board members who have extensive visual, performance, and media art backgrounds. Proposals will be selected based on consideration of the following criteria: artistic merit of the proposed project, fit with TRUCK Gallery’s mandate, feasibility of the proposed budget, and the ability of TRUCK Gallery to provide appropriate space/support for the project. All applicants are notified of the results in writing.
ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

2. Proposal (maximum of 1 page): Clearly describe the proposed exhibition or project. Provide details about your spatial, and material requirements, including equipment needs. Explain what kind of venue is best suited to your proposed work (gallery, theatre, off-site, public space, etc).

Appel à candidature pour une résidence d’artiste à Lindre Basse (57)
PRESENTATION
Le centre d’art contemporain la synagogue de Delme gère en étroite collaboration avec la commune de Lindre-Basse et le Parc Naturel Régional de Lorraine, un programme de résidences d’artistes, dans l’ancien presbytère de Lindre-Basse, spécialement réaménagé en atelier. Trois résidences ponctuent l’année : février à avril – juin à août – septembre à novembre.
LOCALISATION DE L’ATELIER
L’atelier est localisé au cœur du village de Lindre-Basse (100 habitants), dans le Parc Naturel Régional de Lorraine et à deux kilomètres de Dieuze (4000 habitants), en Moselle. Le domaine de Lindre Basse est un vaste espace naturel constitué autour d’un étang, qui développe une activité piscicole et ornithologique. Il faut une heure pour rejoindre Metz et Strasbourg, environ 40 minutes pour Nancy et une demi-heure du centre d’art en voiture.
CRITERES DE SELECTION
Aucune thématique ou medium n’est imposé. Les artistes sont invités à formuler leur projet en motivant l’intérêt d’une résidence pour la réalisation de celui-ci. Néanmoins, les projets impliquant un travail en relation avec le territoire (entendu au sens le plus large) ainsi que les projets collaboratifs (entre artistes de même discipline ou de disciplines différentes) seront encouragés. Selon les cas, une diffusion du travail réalisé peut-être envisagée avec des structures partenaires à l’issue de la résidence. Les artistes sélectionnés seront amenés à rencontrer la population locale dans le cadre d’actions de sensibilisation du centre d’art.

La durée effective est de 10 semaines au minimum à répartir sur 3 mois.

Appel à projets : Le pire n’est jamais certain
Dans le contexte de l’ouverture du Centre Pompidou-Metz, le Centre d’études et de recherches en arts plastiques de l’Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (CERAP) et l’École Supérieure d’Art de Metz Métropole (ESAMM) s’unissent pour produire deux événements de portée internationale : un colloque et une exposition. Ces manifestations sont consacrées aux créations et positions des artistes face à la question des risques majeurs et aux bouleversements sans précédent du monde contemporain globalisé.
Dans ce contexte, un appel à projet est lancé. Il s’agit de réunir le plus grand nombre de points de vue possibles, y compris utopiques, sur cette question. Les projets peuvent déjà exister ou être spécialement conçus pour cet événement. Plusieurs propositions émanant d’une même personne sont recevables.
Certains projets sélectionnés par le Comité pourront être réalisés et exposés. Il est demandé aux artistes d’inclure dans leur dossier une évaluation avec un budget minimum et maximum selon les versions différentes que leur projet peut prendre.
Toutes les projets reçus seront intégrés et présentés au sein de l’exposition dans un espace bureau / bibliothèque, sous forme de classeur avec dossier-papier de format A4 normalisé, à disposition du public et des chercheurs. Des postes de consultation renvoyant aux sites Internet et blogs des artistes seront installés dans ce lieu d’exposition qui constituera un des dispositifs majeurs de l’opération. Toutes les propositions seront au minimum répertoriées dans le catalogue de l’exposition.

CUBE (Centre for the Urban Built Environment) is proud to be hosting its third open submission exhibition from the 5th November to the 17th December 2009. Each year a selection panel from the fields of Architecture and Art are invited to shortlist engaging projects from entrants to the OPEN.
This year’s selection panel includes Leo Fitzmaurice, Sans Facon, CUBE creative director, Jane Anderson and last year’s CUBE Open winner, artist Andrea Booker.
The judging panel has the difficult task of selecting exhibitors from a diverse range of work themed around the urban built environment. Last year, the exhibition featured works chosen from over 125 applicants and received a five star review from Aaron Lavery for the METRO.
We expect this year’s exhibition to be just as fascinating. This is an opportunity for artists and architects to explore exciting relationships with their contemporary surroundings.
The winner will have the opportunity to be resident at CUBE gallery for two months and receive a £1000 bursary. Two runners up will receive £250 each. The three winners will be then be exhibited alongside the shortlisted entries as part of the CUBE Open Exhibition.

Call for durational Performance Art work proposals

From the 10th to the 15th of November, TactileBOSCH Gallery & Studios will host Auxesis: Performance a five day performance Art festival showcasing the work of some of today’s most established names in Live Art from across Europe including; Falmouth College of Art lecturer Mark Greenwood, Brighton based performance group ProtoPlay and SPART Member Justin McEwen. Alongside the twelve invited artists and collectives the curator is looking to select an additional Performance artist to participate in the festival through an open submission process.
Auxesis: Performance will open with an evening of Live Art on the 10th November with each invited artists creating instant, durational and interventionist work in their own specific space within the vast gallery complex. Over the following four days the physical remnants and photographic documentation of each performance will be exhibited in-situ alongside a continuing programme of performances.
The Curator is looking for a performance to take place through the entirety of the festival to act as the cohesive factor binding together the diverse and energetic performance line-up and exhibition.
The remit for this performance is flexible and the curator will discuss with the chosen artists their work and how it will fit in with the rest of the festival. The selected artist would not have to perform for the entirety of the festivals opening times if they did not wish too but would be expected to create at least one durational act each day.
This will not only be an opportunity to exhibit work alongside some of today’s most established names in Live Art but will also be a rare opportunity to develop extended length durational work. The selected artist will receive a £120 stipend to cover expenses.

Premiering at The Houston Museum of Natural Science (“HMNS”) Spring, 2011

BLOSSOM II ~ ART OF FLOWERS (hereafter “BLOSSOM II”), is a juried art competition and exhibition initially conceived to recognize, promote and reward excellence in representational floral art, and to enhance public appreciation and awareness. Cash awards including $25,000 Best of Show Award plus $40,000 in cash and other awards to be announced. Artworks selected by an eminently-qualified jury will be featured in the premiere exhibition in Houston, Texas.
ELIGIBILITY: The competition is open to any living artist. Works must be original, completed after
September 1, 2008, and must not have won any previous prize or award in any other competition.
SUBJECT: Jurors will select exceptional artworks that depict and interpret floral subjects in a variety of
environments. Emphasis will be on creative composition and design, competent technique and handling of media, overall strength of individual artworks, and ability to capture the essence of the floral subject. Florals may be combined with any other subject matter the artist wishes, but should emphasize flowers. These include, but are not limited to portraiture, landscapes, still lifes, animals, historical subjects, etc.
FORMAT: Original, two-dimensional art only. Excluded are: computer enhanced or generated artwork,
sculpture, reproduction prints, photography, video, and any other media not qualified below.
All two-dimensional painting or drawing media are eligible. Works must be original, completed after
September 1, 2008 and must not have won any previous prize or award in any other competition. Qualifying Media include: oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, mixed media, pastel, pencil, pen and ink, tempura, batik, alkyd, scratchboard, original prints (e.g., lithograph, etching, engraving, and serigraph).
