Pour permettre aux artistes de continuer à créer malgré ces temps incertains, le comité de performance de La Centrale invite les artistes à explorer le thème de cette année : Intimité Publique ; Connexion à Distance.
Le travail artistique est parfois solitaire, invisible, subtilement camouflé ou parfaitement imbriqué dans le système qu’il infiltre. Nous posons ainsi notre réflexion sur les façons de dévoiler ses différentes intersections de l’espace intime et public à travers des pratiques performatives. La Centrale désire donner lieu à des dialogues entre les artistes et le public tout en restant consciente d’un climat sociopolitique dans lequel la lutte pour une juste représentation de tous les individus continue. Il s’agit ainsi d’une invitation à explorer différentes stratégies de création et de diffusion des pratiques performatives qui s’intéressent à l’intimité et à la communauté durant cette époque d’isolation. Les artistes auront ainsi l’occasion de transmettre une présence virtuelle et/ou de se réapproprier la sphère publique. Les membres du comité invitent les artistes de performance et/ou de la scène à soumettre des projets en lien avec les thèmes d’intimité, d’espace public, de collectivité et de connexion.
Le comité encourage les artistes à réfléchir à un projet numérique et/ou présentiel en utilisant les modes et formats suivants :

La Grande rencontre des arts médiatiques en Gaspésie, co-produit par le Festival Les Percéides, est un événement annuel qui se déroule dans le village balnéaire de Percé et qui a pour mandat d’offrir à la communauté artistique de la Gaspésie et des Îles-de-la-Madeleine une programmation innovante qui explore les formes artistiques suivantes : projections vidéo, audiovisuelles, immersion, intervention, performance sonore. Dans le cadre de la pandémie COVID-19, les recommandations de Santé publique seront suivies, et par conséquent l’édition 2021 s’adaptera au contexte des conditions sanitaires. De ce fait, une édition hybride, en mode présentiel et virtuel, est en train de se formuler.

Le Centre d’art daphne est un nouveau centre d’artistes autochtone autogéré situé à Tiohtià:ke / Mooniyang / Montréal. Nous lançons un appel à propositions pour des expositions en art contemporain provenant d’artistes, de commissaires et de collectifs Métis, Inuit et des Premières Nations pour l’année 2022-2023. Chez daphne, notre objectif pour l’espace d’exposition et pour notre programmation communautaire est de refléter la diversité dans la création, les actions et les pratiques des commissaires et des artistes Métis, Inuit et des Premières Nations. Notre mandat est de soutenir les artistes à tous les niveaux de leur carrière

1. La salle d’exposition principale est de 480 pi2 /44,5 m 2 pouvant accueillir des œuvres murales à grande échelle provenant d’une variété de médias, ainsi que des installations, des performances et des sculptures indépendantes. Un mur plein est une fenêtre.
2. Une salle secondaire de 117 pi2 / 10,8 m2.
3. Une salle vidéo de type « boîte noire » (73.5 pi2 /6,8 pi2 ) est conçue pour des projections médiatiques.
La hauteur de tous les plafonds est de 9 pi/2,75 m.
Plan de la Galerie
Les propositions seront évaluées en fonction de leur mérite artistique et de leur pertinence en vue de favoriser une meilleure compréhension de l’art autochtone contemporain. Notre programmation vise à privilégier des artistes dont le travail repose sur l’expérimentation de la forme et du contenu. Le Centre d’art daphne souhaite offrir une programmation variée qui reflète les pratiques artistiques contemporaines, y compris des œuvres en deux et trois dimensions, des arts médiatiques/nouveaux médias et de l’art de performance.
Nous souhaitons développer une programmation qui accroît la compréhension du public envers les œuvres exposées, la pratique de l’artiste et son médium de choix. Les propositions qui s’accompagnent d’une programmation participative pour la communauté retiendront particulièrement notre attention : cela peut inclure, entre autres, des événements ou des ateliers, des conférences d’artistes, des projections, des symposiums, des publications et des technologies numériques.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: MOUNT PLEASANT COMMUNITY ART SCREEN
Through the inaugural year of the Mount Pleasant Community Art Screen, the
curatorial vision has been centralized on the broader theme of PLACE; largely as place
in its literal geographical perimeters on the stolen, unceded territories of the
Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh nations, as a part of one of so-called
Vancouvers earliest neighbourhoods. However, this theme has also evolved to
encompass a continuing community and network of makers holding deep knowledge of
the areas histories, holding visions of the future, and holding ground as the landscape
rapidly shifts in the Mount
Pleasant neighbourhood.
The MPCAS will continue to honour its initial framing of PLACE; as a community
screen we are beholden to how we are on the land and how we wish to reflect the
communities we envision this screen to be for. In this continuing work, we also invite
and encourage submissions which speak towards the ambiguity of place–of
displacement, diaspora, digital and contested space, as well as artists whose work has
been inextricably shaped by their time in the communities of this PLACE.
We accept a wide variety of media works and formats to a maximum of 10 minutes,
including video, film, animation, gif and photography. The MPCAS is programmed by
grunt gallery.

Located on Treaty 4 Territory, Neutral Ground is a not-for-profit, artist-run-centre that
presents contemporary visual and media art. From the
gallery in downtown Regina, Saskatchewan, we connect audiences to the work of
emerging and mid-career artists, and from established artists experimenting with new
directions in their practices.
Neutral Ground invites contemporary, professional artists and curators to submit a
proposal for exhibitions, projects, or performances in any media. Neutral Ground
welcomes exhibition proposals from all professional artists regardless of ability, age,
culture, ethnicity, citizenship, gender identity, or race. (Please note that proposals from
artists based outside of Canada will be considered only as budget and resources
allow.)
Thanks to funding from the Canada Council for the Arts, Sask Arts and the City of
Regina, Neutral Ground pays artist fees in accordance with the CARFAC fee schedule
for level 1 gallery exhibitions.
Proposals received prior to 11:59 pm on June 1st will be assessed by a jury in
consideration for the 2022-23 programming season. Proposals will be accepted for
both the Main Gallery and the Window Gallery. Neutral Ground presents 4-5 exhibitions
per year in our Main Gallery, as well as additional performances and special events.
The Window Gallery presents up to 6 presentations per year. Please carefully review
the features of each space when drafting a proposal. See ‘Full call for Proposals’ for
physical descriptions and floor plans. Artists are limited to one solo exhibition in a

The Emerging Digital Artists Award (EDAA) is pleased to announce the 2021 Call for Applications is now open.
The EDAA is Canada’s major award for critical experimentation in digital media, co-presented by EQ Bank and Trinity Square Video. The 2021 edition launches with guest judges Cat Bluemke, Ashley Jane Lewis, and Suzanne Morrissette, a new visual identity by featured artist Khadija Aziz, and a prize structure that recognizes early-career digital artists for their exceptional work more than ever before.
Launched in 2015, the EDAA was established to celebrate early-career media artists working actively and creatively with digital technologies, awarding a single grand prize and four finalist prizes each year. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 EDAA shifted its structure by increasing the prize amount in lieu of an in-person award ceremony, awarding all five finalists a grand prize. The 2021 EDAA will continue to award five grand prizes, with other additional prize offerings detailed below.
For the 2021 EDAA:
Five artists will each be awarded a $5,000 prize;
Their award-winning works will be featured in a group exhibition at Trinity Square Video, as well as online, September 10-October 2, 2021
Each artist will receive a one-year Production Membership to Trinity Square Video; and
One of the five artists will earn a dedicated spot in Trinity Square Video’s 2022 Themed Commission residency program
Artists within the first five years of their professional careers are encouraged to apply. We welcome submissions of screen-based works that are not only created with digital technologies, but also speak to the concerns, ethics, and constructs of digital space. Artwork submissions may include, but are not limited to: images, videos, animations, GIFs, websites, games, applications, and immersive technologies.

NAISA Call for Submissions DIGITAL IN NATURE

New Adventures in Sound Art (NAISA) invites artists of all ages and nationalities to submit works on the theme Digital in Nature for consideration in New Adventures in Sound Art’s 20th anniversary programming in 2021 and 2022.
Over its 20 year history NAISA’s presentations have been navigating a continuum that at one end includes works produced entirely in and for the digital realm, and on the other end, digital works that include or respond to natural or socially organized phenomena. We ask artists to reflect on the impact of digital technology on their works and/or how their digital works convey or transform the natural world.
Preference in programming will be given to works that respond in some way to the theme Digital in Nature. Individual interpretations or variations on the theme are encouraged, but works should be realized with sound as their primary component. A variety of presentation formats are possible for in-person or online events, such as performances, installation exhibitions, audio-visual screenings, radio or internet broadcasts, mobile experiences and any emerging or alternative digital media formats that include sound as a primary element. NAISA is interested in exploring online presentation contexts that expand social communities and invite a multitude of voices for online sharing, learning and discussion. Works of any duration are encouraged, but special consideration will be given to works that are 5 minutes or less.
Due to the ongoing health restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, works that require artist travel or public gatherings may not be supported. All works presented will receive a honorarium. NAISA is not able to provide financial support towards the creation and research phases of a presentation.
This year’s call includes consideration for two special awards:
The James Bailey Award – a $300 award that will recognize a work submitted by a Canadian artist to NAISA’s call for submissions which best exemplifies an inventive and adventurous spirit and pushes the boundaries of radio and transmission art. Special consideration will be given for a work submitted by an artist who is new to the field of radio and transmission art. This annual award has been established by NAISA from a gift made by Kevin Austin.
The Andra McCartney Mentorship Award – a mentorship residency awarded to an artist who has submitted a work and is new to the field of sound art who lives in Northern Ontario.
New Adventures in Sound Art is a non-profit organization that presents performances and installations spanning the entire spectrum of sound art. NAISA is partially funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage, Ontario Arts Council, and the Canada Council for the Arts.

AKA supports the creation and development of artist driven initiatives and emerging practices that speak to, reflect and encourage dialogue in our culturally diverse communities. This includes work in all media by local, national and international artists. Our venues consist of a street-level gallery, billboard and multi-use screening and performance event space; we also source off-site locations for site-specific projects.
AKA accepts submissions on an ongoing basis for project/exhibition proposals that consider AKA’s history and setting.
Support for selected projects/exhibitions includes: curatorial assistance, shipping, insurance, installation/strike assistance, promotion, documentation and the potential development of accompanying programming suited to the form of the project. Southern Alberta Art Gallery (SAAG) Submission Guidelines Exhibition proposals are accepted throughout the year and reviews are ongoing. The gallery will not return your submission – please do not send original artworks or valuable materials. Given the large number of submissions received by the gallery, formal letters of reply will only be issued to proposals of immediate interest.
Exhibitions are generally six weeks in length. An opening is held to introduce the work to the public. Artists are also invited to give an illustrated lecture on their work in conjunction with the University of Lethbridge Faculty of Fine Art during the academic year. Other special events (workshops, panel discussions, etc.) are considered on a case-by-case basis.
The Southern Alberta Art Gallery pays CARFAC fees, shipping and insurance, and often seeks funding to produce catalogues for the exhibition. All publications, including our quarterly newsletter GALLERY (which discusses and reproduces work by exhibiting artists along with other programming), are exchanged with other institutions in Canada and abroad.
The Southern Alberta Art Gallery fosters the work of contemporary artists who challenge boundaries, encourages broad public engagement and promotes awareness and exploration of artistic expression. Our work extends to local, national and international communities.

Phileas is a philanthropic organisation based in Vienna, Austria, that enables ambitious projects within the field of contemporary art. Its activities focus primarily on international exhibitions by Austrian and Austrian-based artists.
Phileas co-produces new works and their presentation in museum exhibitions and biennials, as well as accompanying publications and symposia. Where possible, its support is extended to enable the acquisition of the works for public collections.
The deadline for applications for 2022 project collaborations is September 10, 2021. Applications must be submitted by institutions. Applicants will be informed of a decision in November 2021. For further details, please see our application form.
In addition to funding collaborations on exhibitions, Phileas provides curatorial assistance to museum and biennial curators and organises funded research trips to Austria to visit artists’ studios, foundations and museums. Griffin Art Projects is committed to providing support, resources, solidarity and profile
for local BIPOC artists. This is a studio-only residency intended for artists living in the
metro-Vancouver area. This residency award is offered in conjunction with Worldings:
thinking through decolonial futures: a collaborative, multi-layered project that includes
an exhibition of the work of South African artist William Kentridge curated by
Baldissera, as well as a public program and residency series that will explore the
unique artistic
perspectives and histories that exist between the Canadian and South
African experience as seen through the eyes of artists, writers, curators and activists.
This program will focus on resiliency through the lens of the historical events of the last
year, and the ways in which solidarity, resistance and advocacy are remitted in hope,
for their capacities to elicit lasting structural change and collective care.

One of our favourite times of year is fast approaching! 2021 will be the sixth year for the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21’s Artist-in-Residence program. This year will mark our first virtual residency. Echoing our new multimedia film experience about the contributions of generations of immigrants to Canada, this year’s residency is a national call-out to create a collaborative digital project that allows Canadians to share pictures / video / words / etc. about immigrant contributions to Canada. The proposed project must be suitable to be shared digitally on one of the museum’s platforms.
The 2021 residency is flexible on medium and timing. Where, historically, artists have worked at the museum sixteen hours a week for six months, this year we will welcome proposals for projects that take 2 – 8 months.
Ownership of the work will remain with the artist with the understanding that we will host the completed project on one or more of the Museum’s digital platforms (including, but not limited to, website, Instagram, Facebook or YouTube).
Final projects that include written or spoken words must be English and French and all projects must meet standard accessibility guidelines which will be determined for the selected project. The Museum can offer translation services, subtitling / captioning / described video / etc.

Le centre offre aux artistes les moyens techniques de développer de nouveaux langages à partir d’un vocabulaire numérique pertinent et actuel. Les artistes sont accueillis dans nos lieux de productions et sont soutenus par l’équipe de manière continue dans une vision à long terme.

Résidence de micro-édition
Cette résidence offre la possibilité de réfléchir la publication en tant qu’espace autonome de création. Elle permet l’expérimentation sur place en développant autant le contenu littéraire que l’objet/livre lui-même. Ce moment de recherche laisse place à l’innovation, aux pratiques transversales et aux hybridations.
L’artiste pourra mettre en forme un petit nombre d’exemplaires de son projet duquel il reste l’éditeur tout en profitant d’un soutien technique personnalisé ainsi que des connaissances et des savoir-faire spécialisés. Temporary Public Art: Skate Park Digital Murals

The City of Mississauga’s Public Art Program invites emerging Mississauga artists or artist teams to submit proposals to create original digital artwork for Mississauga’s Sculpture Court, a multi-use ramp and skateboarding park in downtown Mississauga (300 City Centre Drive).
Artists are asked to propose artwork that considers the park users and engages viewers in a conversation that explores the relationship between urban design/architecture and community. Artwork should engage Mississauga’s residents and skate park users in a dialogue of how they view and interact with the public realm and evoke a sense of community belonging.

Platforms: We Are Here, Live | Artist Call

public art program which will commission temporary artworks for existing platforms

481 UNIVERSITY UNITED BLDG – PUBLIC ART COMPETITION
Call to Artists
Davpart Inc., on behalf of 481 Uni Investments Inc., through their public art consultant, Brad Golden + Co, is holding a Two-Stage Competition to select an artist to develop a permanent public artwork as part of their United BLDG project, located at the prominent intersection of the corner of University Avenue and Dundas Street in Downtown Toronto. The project is the tallest heritage façade retention project in North America.
The artwork will be integrated with the glass components of the colonnade lighting (please see attached drawings) and will be based on the theme of “communication”. The selected artwork will recognize the existing, historic, restored carvings on site, designed by Elizabeth Winnifred Wood and carved by Louis Temporale, as well as the previous use of the building as the McLean Hunter Publishing’s original headquarters. Artists are encouraged to conduct their own research to familiarize themselves with the site.
The budget for the completed and installed artwork, not including artist fees, is $120,000 (plus HST). Davpart Inc. will pay for costs related to the production and installation of the artwork up to $120,000. The selected artist will be paid a fee of $50,000 to develop their artwork, to produce any digital files required to print their work onto glass and to oversee printing, production and installation of their work.
Submissions will be reviewed by an independent selection committee convened for this project who will create a list of prequalified proponents. From this prequalified list, the building developer will select of up to seven (7) artists to prepare site-specific design proposals for the designated art site. Shortlisted artists will be paid a $2,500 honourarium (plus HST, if applicable) to create an artwork proposal which they will present to the competition jury. The competition jury will be comprised of the selection committee plus two representatives of the building developer.
Shortlisted artists will be issued a detailed RFP, with complete information about the project. Artist presentations, via teleconference, will take place in the Summer of 2021, specific time and date to be determined.

Dawn Saunders Dahl, conservatrice des arts autochtones, a mis au point le Programme des arts autochtones pour l’installation partagée de BPO/BAC, qui rendra hommage aux arts autochtones créés par des artistes autochtones du Canada, en fera la promotion et en assurera le rayonnement. Ce programme permettra d’intégrer les œuvres d’art public d’artistes autochtones locaux, régionaux et nationaux (Premières Nations, Inuits et Métis) partout à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur de l’installation. L’art autochtone sera intégré dans l’installation afin de créer un espace accueillant et inclusif représentant la vigueur, les traditions et la modernité des œuvres des artistes autochtones.
La Ville d’Ottawa invite les artistes autochtones à déposer leurs offres pour les projets de marché suivants :
Déclaration d’intérêt pour le mentorat de l’art public autochtone;
Demande de propositions à l’intention des artistes inuits qui souhaitent offrir des œuvres d’art existantes pour le Programme d’achats directs;

Overview
The City of Calgary’s Public Art Program is seeking an Associate Indigenous Curator to play a supporting role to the Indigenous Curator. The Associate Indigenous Curator will focus on implementing opportunities for artists and helping the Indigenous Curator build relationships with Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in and around Calgary. This position will work in close collaboration with the Indigenous Curator, the Moh’kinsstis Public Art Guiding Circle and Public Art Program staff.
Those with connection to the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, specifically the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Piikani and Kainai); Îethka Nakoda Wîcastabi First Nations (Chiniki, Bearspaw and Wesley First Nations); the Tsuut’ina First Nation; historic Northwest Métis and Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3; and/or Indigenous urban Calgarians, First Nations, Inuit, and Métis who have made Calgary their home are encouraged to apply.
All work to be performed in Calgary and area.
The contract is for 5 months at 35 hours per week for a consultant fee of $21,000 (not including GST), all inclusive.

Selection process
All eligible submissions are reviewed by a selection panel consisting of members of the Moh’kinsstis Public Art Guiding Circle and a representative from the Public Art Program.
The selection panel will shortlist applicants based on how their submissions meet the application criteria listed above.
Three references will be requested for short-listed curators. References should include at least two work-related contacts, preferably a supervisor, but can also include a community leader, such as an Elder. References should include company name, current contact name, including current telephone number, address and email address. The City reserves the right to contact references without prior notification. References from City of Calgary staff members will not be counted as part of the required references.
Shortlisted curators will be invited to an in-person / online interview with the selection panel. The same evaluation criteria will be used as in the shortlisting stage.

QOQQOON
How to be an artist? Such a question weighs heavily, unanswerable by any amount of
technical training or academic curricula. How does an artist navigate the disparate
conditions of school, the studio, the scene, the market, the feed, the silent hours, and
all the demands of the want-to-be? Given the ever-increasing numbers of indebted
graduates leaving art schools, and the scarcity of opportunities necessitated by any
luxury market based on conspicuous consumption, it can be difficult to attain (much
less sustain) a degree of recognition or support for one’s practice. Is it therefore
beneficial to understand art-work as an entrepreneurial competition? Or does a
hobbyist lens better describe what it is that artists do? We want to consider the
impractical
questions, each uniquely interpreted by different practitioners, in order to
get a sense of how artists relate to one another, what is held in common beyond the
simulated conditions of school or the social environments of openings. Do you have
life-advice for other artists, therapeutic mantras to get through moments of doubt and
neglect, or secret sources of self-help sustenance? Most importantly, amidst the ever-
present noise of the culture industry, we want to ask how artists find the resources
necessary to make art, the encouragement to maintain this nebulous occupation, the
desire to be an artist without any guarantee, and the esoteric guidance to navigate
open-ended creative practice.
These responses will comprise the sixth issue of our publishing project, QOQQOON
(http://qoqqoon.com). Since its inception in 2018, we have used this platform to
promote argumentative writing by artists, and to imagine an art education without debt.
We are looking for written submissions between

editorial support and work closely with artists to develop their texts. Send us an email

AdMare, centre d’artistes en art actuel des Îles-de-la-Madeleine lance un appel à projets destiné aux commissaires indépendant·e·s en art actuel du Québec et des Maritimes, en collaboration avec la Société de conservation des Îles-de-la-Madeleine (SCÎM).
Le·la commissaire sélectionné·e réalisera une résidence de 2 à 3 semaines à AdMare en octobre 2021 et assurera la direction artistique d’une programmation spécifique de résidences d’artistes et de diffusion de projets en art actuel mettant en valeur les sites naturels protégés par la SCÎM.
Cette programmation s’inscrit dans le contexte d’une tradition d’événements-résidences organisés par AdMare afin de créer un lieu d’échange entre les collectivités artistique et insulaire des Îles-de-la-Madeleine et d’ailleurs (faire avec, 2013; Le Chant des pistes, 2016; SEULS et ENSEMBLE, 2021). De pair avec le centre, les commissaires et les artistes proposent des projets dont la démarche contextuelle, relationnelle, performative, furtive, infiltrante ou éphémère favorise la rencontre avec les communautés locales et le territoire.
Dans cette perspective, le·la commissaire est invité·e à concevoir une programmation qui pose un regard attentionné et approfondi sur la nature, de l’infiniment petit à l’infiniment grand, et qui permet de tisser des liens entre celle-ci et l’humain par une approche bienveillante.
Au cours de sa résidence, le·la commissaire précisera son approche commissariale et sélectionnera de quatre à huit artistes ou collectifs qui seront accueilli·e·s – chacun·e à leur tour, sur une période d’une à deux années – en résidence à AdMare pendant un mois. Les projets des artistes seront réalisés au cours de cette même période et devront avoir pour ancrage le vaste réseau d’aires naturelles protégées par la SCÎM. L’organisme fournira un accompagnement en ce qui a trait à la biodiversité des milieux protégés et à leurs repères écologiques ou géographiques d’intérêt, en plus d’offrir une tournée de reconnaissance et une cartographie des lieux.
Conditions d’accueil et accompagnement :
Volet 1 – Séjour en résidence du·de la commissaire – 2 à 3 semaines
– Cachet de résidence de 4 000 $ (incluant l’écriture du projet de commissariat, la sélection des artistes et la corédaction de deux demandes de subvention);
– Frais de déplacements jusqu’à 750 $;
– Hébergement sur place pendant toute la durée du séjour;
– Soutien artistique et logistique (accompagnement dans l’exploration du réseau artistique local et de la communauté);
– La SCÎM offrira au·à la commissaire une visite de ses sites et de la documentation à leur sujet.
Volet 2 (conditionnel à l’obtention de financement) – Direction artistique et réalisation du projet
– Cachet pour la direction artistique de l’ensemble de la programmation (suivi avec les artistes, écriture de textes, etc.) de 4 000 $;
– Soutien à la gestion financière et logistique et à la promotion de la programmation;
– Hébergement et coordination de l’accueil des artistes;
– Documentation photographique des projets;
– La SCÎM offrira aux artistes une visite de ses sites et de la documentation à leur sujet.
Volet 3 (conditionnel à l’obtention de financement) – Publication
– Édition d’une publication au terme du projet.

– Votre dossier devra comprendre, en un seul fichier pdf :
● Une description du projet de commissariat proposé en lien avec les mandats d’AdMare et de la SCÎM et un texte de démarche déclinant vos axes de recherche privilégiés (700 mots);
● Votre curriculum vitae (maximum 3 pages);
● Une biographie (150 mots);
● Veuillez indiquer si vous souhaitez procéder à la sélection des artistes par un appel de projets ou par invitation. Dans ce dernier cas, vous pouvez fournir une liste des artistes pressenti·e·s;
● La description des images fournies dans le dossier visuel.
– Un dossier visuel comprenant un maximum de 15 images de projets antérieurs (format JPG, 72 ppp, n’excédant pas 1 Mo). Des hyperliens vers des extraits vidéo ou audio (3 minutes maximum) peuvent être inclus au dossier. Ne pas joindre de fichiers vidéo ou audio.

Toutes les personnes ayant soumis un dossier recevront un accusé de réception. La comité de sélection sera composé de la directrice artistique, d’un membre du comité de programmation d’AdMare et d’une représentante de la SCÎM. The Curatorial Incubator, v.17: On the Other Side – It’s Heaven

What a year it’s been.
Boredom, loneliness, grief and fear have invaded our waking and dreaming lives. As we near the end of this seemingly endless series of lockdowns, then openings, then lockdowns, then partial openings, ad infinitum, we looking for a break. We want our Incubatees to look to the Vtape holdings and find works that offer a version of heaven. It could be a spiritual vision, or a material one. It could be humourous or deeply serious, committed or skeptical.
Participants in The Curatorial Incubator, v.17: On the Other Side – It’s Heaven will have an opportunity to hone their curatorial skills in the media arts in a number of important ways: attending specialized workshops conducted by arts professionals; conducting independent research using the rich resources available through Vtape; writing a curatorial essay for their program of selected titles, with invaluable editorial assistance provided by arts professionals; and, finally, presenting their curated program to the public.
If your proposal is selected for production, you will receive fees for both curating and writing and a budget to cover the screening fees for the titles that are included in your program.
Research phase (June – July 2021) includes:
workshops conducted by professionals specializing in media arts,
free access to the vast research facilities on site at Vtape, with over 6000 titles by 900+ artists and over 2500 articles on video art, and
extensive access to the Vtape on-line preview resource available only to curators and authorized researchers.
Presentation phase (September – October 2021) includes:
an exhibition of all the curated programs with an introduction by the curator, and
a fully illustrated catalogue of all the programs with curatorial essays.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: TUESDAY, JUNE 1, 2021
Proposals must include:
an up-to-date c.v.;
a statement of intention (1 page in total) that outlines your interest in video and media artwork and why you want to be part of The Curatorial Incubator, v.17 – On the Other Side – It’s Heaven.
NOTE: your statement of intention does NOT have to include a list of titles you would include. Rather it should try to clarify your overall area of interest. You will have lots of time to do your research to find the titles you want to include if you are selected for this program.

Nous sommes intéressés par les textes critiques consacrés au domaine des arts visuels, mais aussi par les essais artistiques et les créations poétiques.
Nous raffolons de textes traitant de la théorie des arts et désirons également lire vos comptes rendus d’expositions et d’évènements se déroulant dans la capitale.
