Nous invitons tous les artistes professionnels à participer à la
CINQUIÈME EXPOSITION INTERNATIONALE D’ESTAMPE NUMÉRIQUE MINIATURE, qui
se tiendra à Ottawa (Canada) du 6 novembre au 14 décembre 2010.
On demande aux artistes de soumettre leurs estampes numériques de 25
cm par 20 cm (jusqu’à deux par artiste) au plus tard le 15 août 2010.
L’édition 2010 de l’exposition porte le thème Déconnexion imminente.
Le texte expliquant le thème se retrouve au site Web cité ci-dessous.
L’artiste doit remplir le formulaire et rédiger un court texte faisant
le lien entre l’œuvre présentée et le thème de l’exposition.
La commissaire, Line Dezainde, fera la sélection des œuvres pour
l’exposition et un jury composé de trois artistes réputés décernera
trois prix en argent et des mentions d’honneur.
La participation à l’exposition est gratuite pour tous. L’exposition
se tiendra au Centre d’artistes Voix Visuelle.

Trinity Square Video
1. Call for Submissions to LEFT, RIGHT, CENTER
Deadline: October 15, 2010
Trinity Square Video announces the next TSV Commission trilogy, LEFT, RIGHT, CENTER, a project that asks artists to create 5- to 7-minute videos using audio as a primary source material for the examination of contemporary political issues. Celebrating TSV’s 40-year history as a centre for the production and commissioning of art, we are looking for five successful proposals to the first portion of this trilogy: LEFT.
Videomakers chosen for LEFT must begin their projects from existing or previously self-created audio sources. These sources must be described in the project proposal and can include: audio interviews, self-recorded sounds, archival/historical audio material, music or appropriated sounds. (Music videos are NOT eligible for TSV Commissions.)
For LEFT, we are seeking proposals for the creation of work that considers the idea of “left” from various positions: from the egalitarian leftist or the undecided left-leaning; from a place of possible difference on the left-side or in leftfield; or from those remainders that haunt us–what is leftover, what is left unsaid or what has been left hanging.
This is a commission for the production of video art. TSV is seeking submissions that propose to explore pertinent issues related, but not limited, to representation, identity, geography and space, economics, justice, divisions of labour and power, science, history and philosophy. These works can be impassioned, critical or humorously self-effacing.
Proposed artworks can employ video through a variety of strategies, including narrative and documentary form, formalist or materialist practices, animation or compositing, and for the first time in TSV’s commissioning history, through a limited number of selected video installations*.
Selected artists receive:
* $750 in production equipment rentals;
* 40 hours of editing time;
* TSV Final Cut Pro or After Effects workshop;
* Support from TSV’s technical and artistic Staff;
* TSV membership or renewal;
* $350 Honorarium;
* Public screening/exhibition (February 2011);
* Inclusion in the LEFT, RIGHT, CENTER catalogue (published at the completion of the trilogy)
While each project is created separately, the artists participate in group-critiques of works-in-progress, where they can receive peer-support and feedback.
Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of artist-peers and the TSV Programming Committee who will make selections based on the proposed project’s exploration of the theme, LEFT, as well as its intended examination, experimentation and expansion of video as an art medium.
All Toronto-based emerging and established visual artists, video artists, media artists, sound artists and filmmakers are welcome to submit proposals to LEFT. Proposals from those living outside Toronto and surrounding area must ensure that the artist will attend all LEFT related activities at their own expense.
*Up to 2 video installations will be presented as part of LEFT. The majority of successful applications supported by this commission will be for the creation single-channel videos. Selected artists working in single-channel video or video installation will receive the same resources from TSV, as outlined above.

2. TSV Annual Call for Submissions
Deadline: November 15, 2010
TSV is a not-for-profit artist-run centre for the production, education and dissemination of video by artists and community organizations. Since 1971, TSV has made access to the means of communication its priority, providing a diverse community of video practitioners media-arts related development through workshops, seminars and classes, as well as offering a space for the creation and exhibition of video art. Through its public programming, TSV has advanced the understanding and appreciation of video produced by various community-based groups and numerous internationally recognized artists, such as Michael Balser, John Greyson, Vera Frenkel, Richard Fung, Nancy Nicol, and Lisa Steele and Kim Tomczak. Recently, TSV has presented works by Ursula Biemann, Harry Dodge, Alison Kobayashi, Alex Morrison, Steve Reinke and James Richards, Jayce Salloum, Mark Tribe, Ming Wong, Jin-me Yoon, among others.
TSV is seeking video art that expands understanding of the medium and explores the representations that are constructed through its technological processes. We are eager to hear from artists and curators critically engaged with the social, philosophical and political implications of video in its various forms: video art, video installation, lens-based and non-lens-based digital animation, and video-based photography/works-on-paper.

1. One DVD with a maximum of 10 minutes of previous and/or proposed work.*

Submissions must be postmarked no later than November 15. If this date falls on a weekend or statutory holiday, the deadline moves to the next business day.

We encourage proposals from emerging to established Canadian artists and curators. The work of international artist will only be considered for group exhibitions with Canadian artists.

Our exhibitions are presented for 4 to 5 weeks. TSV also accepts proposals by curators for single-night screenings.

This is an invitation to all professional artists to participate in
the FIFTH INTERNATIONAL DIGITAL MINPRINT EXHIBITION, to be held in
Ottawa (Canada) from November 6 to December 14, 2010.
Artists should submit works of 25 cm by 20 cm (a maximum of two per
artist) no later than August 15, 2010.
Disconnection Imminent is the theme of the 2010 edition of the
exhibition. The text pertaining to the theme can be found on the Web
page mentioned below. Artists are required to write a short text
linking the submitted artwork to the theme.
The curator, Line Dezainde, will select the works to be included in
the exhibit and a jury comprised of three reputable artists will
decide on the cash prize winners and the honourable mentions.
Participation in the exhibition is free. The exhibition will be held
at Centre d’artistes Voix Visuelle.

The Toronto Sculpture Garden has been recognized in Canada as a leader in the commissioning of contemporary sculpture since it opened in 1981. Located in an urban park in the downtown core, it serves as a testing ground for artists to explore public space and to address issues of urban context, materials and scale. Next year, the TSG will celebrate it’s 30th anniversary.
The TSG is a non-collecting institution that is unique in its partnership between the City of Toronto, which owns and operates the site as a city park, and the Louis L. Odette Family, benefactors who created the non-profit L.L.O. Sculpture Garden Foundation which funds and administers the exhibitions. Exhibitions are selected by an Art Advisory Board working with the director, Rina Greer.
Newly commissioned work becomes property of the artist and may be offered for sale after the conclusion of the exhibition.
CALL FOR PROPOSALS:
The TSG’s Art Advisory Board meets three times a year to review specific proposals. Preference is given to new work that responds to the site; only in exceptional cases will existing work be considered. We are currently planning exhibitions for 2011 and beyond. Proposals must be received by the deadlines each year on January 15, May 15 and September 15.
Proposals require:
* Drawing(s) showing dimensions and materials and the location of the work on the site.
* Brief statement of Theme
* Budget showing critical costs including materials, installation/removal and transportation

2011 Guest Artist Series
Art City invites artists to submit proposals to lead workshop-based art projects at our studio in 2011.
Art City is located in West Broadway, a culturally diverse and densely populated neighbourhood in the heart of Winnipeg’s inner city. Art City is open free-of-charge and drop-in to anyone who would like to take part, engaging an average of 25 participants per evening. The majority of those who come to Art City are youth between the ages of 6 and 13 years. Older youth, adults, and seniors also regularly participate in Art City programs.
Selected guest artists will be supported in developing, managing, and facilitating their projects by a team of experienced Art City staff and volunteers. The standard guest artist format is a 5-day period, Monday to Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Artists will receive $1,400.00 for the one-week project. Travel and accommodation for selected visiting artists will be provided by Art City.
In addition to this format, Art City also invites proposals presenting alternative community art projects and formats to be included in our 2011 Guest Artist Series.

• The explanation makes sense for youth of all ages, is simple, uses examples, and is continued as they arrive throughout the evening (with the assistance of Art City staff and volunteers!)
• When they learn something new
• When they make something they can use and/or play with
• When they can take something home to share with their friends and family
• When they are able to participate in collaborative projects, especially through working on individual or small group components that can be brought together to create larger pieces
• Activities are culturally relevant to their own lives

Tatar Art + Projects (formerly Tatar Gallery) invite all professional
and emerging artists to submit their work for inclusion at our new
location at 300 King Street East, Toronto.
In September, Tatar Art + Projects will open our offices in the
international furniture studio Klaus. At this new location, we will
be presenting innovative contemporary art alongside an
exclusive inventory of modern and contemporary furniture
created by world-renowned architects and designers. This
hybrid space breaks from the traditional art gallery format and will
serve as a platform where contemporary art and design are allied
and interdependent.
For 15 years, Tatar Gallery has exhibited contemporary
Canadian and international artists, focusing primarily on painting
and photography. Going forward, we are expanding our
mandate to include and present artists working in wood,
ceramics, paper, metal, plastic, mobiles and recycled and
sustainable materials.
We want to connect with visual artists who are interested in
presenting their work in this unique and dynamic environment —
where art and design are equally important to clients. This
incredible 8000 square foot space will provide artists with a great
opportunity to gain maximum exposure to architects, designers,
collectors and an international clientele.

The term Golden Age originated in Greek mythology. It refers to
the first in a sequence of Ages of Man. The Golden Age
denotes the period of primordial peace, harmony, stability, and
prosperity during which, it is said, humans lived among the gods,
mingling freely with them, and living to a very old age – all the
while keeping their youthful appearance and vitality.
According to media innovator Moses Znaimer, today’s new
“Zoomer” generation is staying current, fit, healthy and engaged
well past what used to be thought as the traditional age of
“retirement”. In Mr. Znaimer’s own words “most Zoomers are
active, contributing members of society. Just staying alive is not
our preference; living well till we die is”
How does the concept of A Golden Age fire your imagination as
a visual artist? Artists are encour- aged to explore this theme
widely through the artistic medium of their choice.
Artists selected for this exhibition will be paid Carfac fees, will be
eligible for a $2000 Best in Show Prize and a $1000 Peoples’
Choice Prize, and their work will be featured in Zoomer
Magazine. Out of town artists will receive accommodation if they
wish to be present at the ZoomerShow.

European Performance Art Festival EPAF 2010

The Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle and the Art and the Present Foundation invite young performance artists (born after 1 January 1975) to submit proposals of performances for the open programme of the European Performance Art Festival EPAF 2010.
The festival will take place from 7 to 9 October 2010 at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle and in the public space of the city of Warsaw, Poland.
Artists invited to participate in the festival will receive board and lodging, the photographic and video documentation of performances presented during the festival, and a fee of 800 PLN.
In order to participate in EPAF 2010, please send an application containing the following:
1) full name, biographical note, address
2) a short description (not more than 100 words each) of two proposed performances – one in public space and one in gallery space – including their expected duration as well as the materials, equipment and space needed
3) video material documenting previous performances – recorded on DVDVideo, MiniDV or VHS with a description containing the title, date and place of the performances
4) 5 photographs documenting previous performances – in digital form, with a description containing the title, date, place and author of the photographs

SCL2110 será un evento de carácter nacional e internacional con sede en Santiago de Chile. En él, se invita a la exposición y al debate de una serie de proyectos pensados, diseñados y discutidos en colaboración entre artistas, arquitectos, autoridades y ciudadanos. Pretendemos generar un debate público para promover un lente diferente de transformación de las condiciones actuales que tenemos en nuestras ciudades en el marco del Bicentenario y su proyección eventual hacia el Tricentenario.
Convocamos a la tercera convocatoria de propuestas pensadas en el ámbito de performance. En esta ocasión nos interesa destacar el trabajo multidisciplinar, activo y controversial de performance en el amplio sentido.
Los proyectos seleccionados serán presentados en el marco de la exposición SCL 2110 que se realizará en el M.A.C. (sede Quinta Normal) y en el C.C.P.L.M. (Centro Cultural del Palacio la Moneda) entre los meses de Septiembre y Noviembre del presente año, específicamente en relación al proyecto presentado por la destacada curadora e historiadora de performance: Roselee Goldberg.

Video has been having, during its still short but intense existence, a priviledged position in relation to performance practices, in the realms of documentation, creation, and also performance.
Centered on the notion of documentation, this Mostra de Vídeo-Performance (Video-Performance Showroom) tries to address all those three realms in a competition and a thematic show. The Convento dos Remédios, with its Páteo das Romãs and warm nights, will be the main venue of the Show. Other spaces in the city of Évora will serve as venues for the Show, where special sessions, opened to the public (free entrance), will take place.

The selected artworks by artists from Turkey will be supported for further development if this is deemed necessary and possible.

Datacity
For the first time in history the World’s urban population has outnumbered its rural counterpart. Cities have become the predominant habitat of humanity. The requirements of rapidly growing cities, coupled with the contemporary technological possibilities bring about new urban reality that is data. amber’10 takes up the relationship between city and data as its festival theme.
It is no accident that the rise of statistics as a science coincided with the rise of the modern city as a social form during the industrial revolution. When statistical methods of data production and measurement coupled with reproductive techniques such as photography and printing, the modern city entered into imaginary circulation simultaneously with its double, its image. From its beginnings, the modern city emerged both as a reality and a representation that were interrelated in such a manner that it became hard to tell one from the other.
In this historical process, contemporaneous with the Enlightenment and Industrial capitalism, the ability to understand the city became conditional on processing and thinking through the data it produced. Data has become a crucial factor in urban social relations and politics.
The capacity to produce and process all kinds of data has increased tremendously with the rise of new technologies in the last three decades. Capitalist parliamentary democracy, as it exists today, demands transparency, efficiency and absolute security as the conditions of its mechanism and has at its service the wide possibilities offered by new technologies to meet these demands. This coupling brought about the strategic importance of data in today’s World. We know and define the city through the images made up of its data. The collection, storage and processing of the vast amount of data has become an everyday practice that is both visible and invisible, threatening to some and absolutely beneficial to others in a field ranging from law to ethics, human rights to health.
With the theme title Datacity, amber’10 proposes to define the modern city as a data cluster in addition to however else the city form may be defined today. We call on artists to interpret the life forms, production and consumption patterns and politics of the Datacity from the vantage point of arts and technology.

Du 1er novembre 2010 au 31 janvier 2011, « J ’exp(l)ose ! » invite 10 créateurs / créatifs issus de
toutes disciplines à prendre possession et à détourner 10 lieux insolites situés dans l’espace
public du quartier d’Empalot à Toulouse.
Surprenantes, amusantes, ludiques, poétiques, politiques, sociales, suggestives, les exp(l)ositions
ouvriront un dialogue qui fera écho aux problématiques de la population du quartier :
qu’elles soient sociales, économiques, culturelles, linguistiques, etc…
Les habitants des quartiers ont un quotidien qui ne facilite pas, voire ne permet pas l’accès
à l’art. L’art maintient la vitalité des sociétés démocratiques, la démocratie reposant sur le
respect et la prise en considération des différences qui existent entre ses membres.
Or, la société que nous partageons place le profit avant l’homme. Face à cela, et par le biais
de l’art, l’association vise à replacer l’homme au centre des préoccupations, à recréer du lien
social et à encourager la construction d’un monde idéologiquement différent, humainement
plus enrichissant. (voir livre « Et pour toi c’est quoi l’art ? »)
6500 habitants pour environ une centaine de nationalités, vivent sur ce territoire : des
thèmes tels que l’habitat, l’environnement, la société de consommation, le travail mais aussi
l’immigration, les questions de nationalité, les discriminations, vus avec humour, dérision,
poésie seront les bienvenus.
Ces 10 oeuvres offriront un parcours poétique plein de sens sur un territoire dont la réalité est
plutôt triste et peu harmonieuse.
L’association « Entrez sans frapper » est installée sur le quartier d’Empalot depuis 10 ans ; elle y
organise des résidences d’artistes aux démarches originales et singulières : des grandes photos
des habitants sur les murs au faux catalogue de La Redoute, « La Déroute », à la dernière édition
« Et pour toi c’est quoi l’art ? » qui a impliqué plus de 1609 personnes au niveau international.
Par ses actions, l’association explore de nouvelles pistes en faveur de la démocratie culturelle,
souhaite faciliter l’accès à l’expression artistique et la diffusion de paroles différentes,
encourage l’initiative citoyenne ainsi que la pluralité artistique et culturelle.
La présélection des œuvres sera faite par l’association, le jury final sera composé d’habitants
du quartier. « J ’exp(l)ose ! » sera aussi l’occasion pour 10 habitants du quartier de parrainer et
d’aider les 10 artistes sélectionnés à installer leurs œuvres.

About Container Space
Container Space is an adaptive reuse project that is envisioned as an experimental multifunctional gallery – a prototype for an off-grid mobile gallery that will remain a part of the George Mason University School of Art. It challenges the traditional gallery model with sustainability, mobility and access. As an intentional action, a used shipping container has been converted into a prototype for a zero-carbon mobile experimental project and community use space. It challenges the traditional gallery model with sustainability, mobility and access. It is curated/managed and envisioned by students at George Mason University.

Blake Turner is currently seeking his BFA at George Mason University. He works extensively with projects engaging the community as a member of the Floating Lab Collective. The Tyrolean Artists’ Association is conceived of as a forum for art in
Tyrol, as an interface between professional visual artists living in or
originating from Tyrol, the interested public, and other cultural
institutions in and outside of Austria. An important task for the
Association is forming and maintaining contacts to internationally
active artists, curators and theoreticians.
The exhibition programs of the KUNSTPAVILLON and the Stadtturmgalerie
presented projects by Tyrolean artists in relation to an international
context. The Stadtturmgalerie is moving into the Hofburg at the
beginning of 2011, where, as the NEUE GALERIE, it will offer more space
for artistic projects in the exciting historical complex of buildings.
The emphasis for the Kunstpavillon and Neue Galerie programme is placed
on presenting artistic production with a relationship to Tyrol.
Exhibitions by external curators and artists from abroad and other
Austrian federal states are important points of engagement and offer
exciting surfaces for friction.
The programs for the Kunstpavillon and the Neue Galerie are put together
by a jury of arts professionals primarily from submissions received in
response to an open call. The call is sent to members of the association
as well as to national and international artists and curators. The jury
of professionals is made up of members of the board of the association
along with external experts.

Videonale is an annual international festival and competition for art videos in Bonn,
Germany, held since 1984.
Since its beginnings, the festival has constantly been altered. Apart from the competition, the Videonale presents a large exhibition of installation art and panel discussions on current topics in media art. Germany’s media academies and media centres and their contributions to the further development of media art are discussed.
Reglement
The submission of a work requires the signed acceptance of the following rules and regulations!
1. Works are submitted automatically to the Videonale exhibition and festival as well as the
competition for the Videonale Prize.
Submission deadline is September 10, 2010 (postmark date).
Each artist can only submit one work for the competition.
2. Videonale is held by Videonale e.V., an independent non-profit organization. The exhibition Videonale 13 will take place from April 14 to May 29, 2011 at Kunstmuseum Bonn.
3. a. The selection committee, consisting of international critics, artists, and curators, will decide on the submissions accepted for participation at Videonale by the end of October 2010.
Information about participation cannot be provided before this date. All participants will be informed by email of the results of the jury decision.
b. The winner of the Videonale Prize will be selected by an international prize jury.
c. The submitted works must not be more than two years old (produced after January 1, 2008).
d. Works cannot be withdrawn from the competition after submission.
4. The following materials have to be submitted to be accepted for the competition (only application including all materials can be accepted!):

The Biennial of light art Austria 2010 is an exhibition of contemporary art dealing with light and is inaugurated in 2010.
General information
The slogan of the „ Biennale für Lichtkunst Austria 2010“ is „private light in public spaces“ and takes place in Austria within the project “LALA”. LALA means Linz (Austria) and Langenzersdorf (Austria), where the two initiators have their ateliers. Linz was the cultural capital of Austria in 2009, and the city is established in the cultural landscape by the Museum Lentos, the Ars Electronca Center and the Brucknerhaus. Langenezersdorf , a township close to Vienna, has two museums for famous Austrian sculptors, the Hanak-Museum and the Charoux-Museum. On April 13th 2010 the National Biennale of light art starts by presenting artwork in public spaces.
Artists from all over the world are invited to show their light projects in streets, squares and public buildings, trying to empathise with the places and the people who frequent them or simply work there. Already completed artwork is shown as well as artwork especially created for the Biennale. The keywords are light-art, public and private, which build the
triangle of eagerness.
The organisation team of the „Biennale für Lichtkunst Austria 2010“ is led by Martina Schettina from Langenzersdorf and Manfred Kielnhofer from Linz.
Exhibition spaces
The public exhibition spaces are selected by the artists themselves. There is no border and no limit, so every artist has the greatest possible freedom of action. The reaction of the public will be different, because they are rapidly transformed into a captive audience. The public may come with no prior art experience, alternatively with much education.
Concept
This first Biennial for Light Art in Austria wants to generate a cut surface between society and art. The spontaneous conjunction with art in public spaces leans on the art concept of Joseph Beuys from 1965 “How to define the paintings to the dead rabbit” in Düsseldorf.
A dialogue should arise between art and the public.
Artists
Among the selected artists will be light artists as well as artists, who use light in art for the first time. The use of light will transform art to a higher level.

NEW LIFE RESIDENCY is the world’s first non-visual residency program for artists. The residency is organized by Wooloo as a work of Manifesta 8, the European Biennial of Contemporary Art, and will take place this fall in the Region of Murcia, Spain.
For one week each, five artists will be selected to live and work in a dark, visually distorted exhibition space. To support them in their life and work for the week, the artist will collaborate with a local Murcian assistant who is blind.
In cooperation with her/his assistant, the artist will use the one-week residency to create a guided tour of the non-visual space and experience in which s/he is living. The blind assistant will be the guide of this tour in darkness and the tour will be open to the biennial audience.
Additional to the guided tour, the five selected concept proposals will furthermore be exhibited in one of the main museum locations of Manifesta 8 and will be on view throughout the biennial from September 30th, 2010 (preview) to January 9th, 2011.

CALL FOR APPLICATION
M.A.P. – mobile artistic platform- is a trans-disciplinary travelling platform that will move
across different locations in South India between 18th October and 15th November,
culminating with an open studio presentation at 1Shanti Road Gallery in Bangalore. The
travelling project is open to 6 participants from different artistic/creative backgrounds.
At the core of the project is a commitment to foster meaningful interactions and vital
collaborations between Asian, Indian and International artists through participatory and
new media tools.
The project proposes two general levels of inquiry. On the one hand, the four locations
selected will frame the specificity of our investigations with the direct exchange and
interaction with the local communities and joint partners. On the other hand, the project
aims at investigating the act of travelling in relation to creative exchange and learning
processes. At the junction between travel and artistic production what is important for
us to explore are the ways through which self-organization and creative exchange could
be initiated and experienced collectively. The experimental format of this project will try
to address a series of issues concerning sustainable tourism, cross-cultural exchange
and hospitality. A series of generic questions will lead the travelling residency and
the creative collaborations between the artists and the people, places and practices
encountered:

In which ways the act of travelling can be understood as a learning process, as
well as becoming a space for creative collaborations?
•
How can we approach mobility in terms of artistic process?
•
What forms of exchange can activate a critical reflection on the relationship
between different set of polarizations (perception/projection, observer/observed,
inclusion/exclusion, artist/tourist)?
PROGRAM
The project is scheduled to start on the 18th October 2010. The first week will be spent
on a location near Bangalore for an initial session of workshops and to plan the journey
with the participants. After this initial session, the group (the invited participants together
with members of Reloading Images, Maraa Collective and City Spinning) will start
the journey (17/18 days) visiting some specific locations in the South Indian regions
of Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. A joint partner active in each location will
interact and cooperate with the group. More information about partners and places will
be announced soon.
The initial series of workshops (delivered by Reloading Images, Maraa Media Collective
and other invited guests) has also the function of activating and initiating conversations
and research directions in preparation for the journey. The methodologies explored are
based on different artistic practices (film, photography, visual art, critical theory, writing,
community based practices, theatre and performance making) with particular attention to
the creation of the aural archive.
At the end of the journey, the group will have an open studio presentation at 1shantiroad
studio gallery (http://www.1shanthiroad.com/) on the 13th and 14th of November. The
final presentation will exhibit the work-in-progress developed during the journey. It will
not be an exhibition of finished individual projects, but the focus of this final event is
to share the experiences and exchanges that have emerged during the mobile artistic
platform.
A web-based radio station/podcast will act as the main creative repository tool to be
developed by all participants.
It will encourage participants to interact and engage
not just with the communities at each site but also to promote internal discussions
and debates with each other. After the completion of the project, an interactive
website will be created to offer an alternative and creative presentation, visualizing
the ‘learning route’ followed during the residency, reflecting on historical layers and
present connotations, and acting as an archive of all the visual/textual/aural material and
collaborative projects produced during the platform.
WHO CAN APPLY?
We are looking for independent and open-minded artists and cultural practitioners from
various disciplines, with interest in exploring new ways of interaction and collaboration,
and, as a web-radio project will be developed during the platform, an interest in aural
documentation is very much appreciated. The project focuses on collaboration and
direct learning. Therefore we are not interested in object-based production but rather on
the work-in-progress potentiality of opening up spaces for dialogue and reflection. The
official working language is English and participants should speak it fluently.
Due to the circumstances of the project, the candidates should be self-aware and
experienced in travelling in basic conditions. Self-management, adaptability and
teamwork are crucial.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If selected, each participant will have to sign a form, which in essence states that the
individual will be responsible for his/her own safety, life and health. The organizers
will not be held liable in any event. The entire project will be legally framed under the
Bangalore High Court jurisdiction. The selection process is at the sole discretion and
decision of Reloading Images, Maraa and City Spinning. The decisions will be final and
non-negotiable.
Paid by the organization: The organization will pay for accommodation and travelling
costs (train tickets, transportations) within M.A.P from the 18th of October until the 15th
of November, as well as the production and organization of the final open studio, web-
radio and website. Where provided, food served will be Indian, and accommodation will
be fairly basic.
Paid by the participant: The selected participants will have to cover the costs to and from
Bangalore, visa and health insurance. Participants are encouraged to carry sleeping
bag, medicines, mosquito repellent etc.

an open network, initiated by Azin Feizabadi and Kaya Behkalam in 2006. RI started in 2007
with its first international project, Berlin-Tehran 2007, followed in 2008 by an artistic research
platform in Damascus (Syria). The projects can take different formats, from a process-oriented
artistic research to presentations and publications, creating temporary structures in which
experiments can be undertaken, formats explored and modes of (re) presentation investigated.

Non-profit trust, rooted to the philosophy of community based activities; it is a platform for new
media and interdisciplinary art forms. It aims at activating networks and share experiences, in
order to foster debate and dialogue between individuals and communities. Maraa has worked
with various NGOs, from Madurai in Tamil Nadu to Garhwa in Jharkhand and Mukteshwar in
Uttarakhand. With UNESCO and NOMAD India network, Maraa facilitated the setting up and
capacity building for the first eight licensed community radio stations in India, as well as for other
radio stations (currently broadcasting in their respective regions). The final outcome of this project
is a bi-lingual publication, which captures key lessons and challenges from community radio
practitioners.

CitySpinning is a platform for proposing and demonstrating new urban configurations for
conversation and diverse social interaction. Initiated as a space for inter-disciplinary collaboration

APPEL à CANDIDATURES en vue d’une résidence – mission
Proposée aux artistes, de tous les domaines d’expression dont la recherche et la production, inscrites dans le champ de la création contemporaine, sont traversées par la question du territoire (histoire, identité…) et du paysage (géographique, humain, urbanistique…).
Une résidence-mission relevant du programme A.R.T. est menée à des fins d’ action culturelle et territoriale. Elle est organisée en faveur d’un certain nombre d’habitants d’un territoire relativement large. Ici, il s’agit de la jeunesse et au delà, des habitants de la communauté de communes du Pays Solesmois, dans le département du Nord.
La résidence-mission repose sur une pleine disponibilité de l’artiste, durant quatre mois, ainsi que sur une diffusion à travers le territoire concerné d’une part représentative de son oeuvre déjà accomplie et disponible. Cette diffusion, en lieux dédiés et non dédiés, s’envisageant dès l’ amont de la période de résidence à proprement parler et se poursuivant tout au long de sa durée
La résidence-mission ne se confond nullement avec une résidence de création puisqu’il n’y a ni enjeu de production ni commande d’oeuvre. Pour l’artiste-résident(e) il s’agit, plus particulièrement, de s’engager dans une démarche d’action culturelle donnant à voir et à comprendre la recherche artistique qui l’anime ainsi que les processus de création qu’il met en oeuvre (réflexion, expérimentation, réalisation).
Cette mise en évidence s’appuie sur des formes d’intervention ou d’actions très variées se différenciant, toutefois, des traditionnels ateliers de pratique artistique régis par un tout autre type de cahier des charges et aux finalités différentes.
Ceci se traduit, concrètement,
– par une première phase prenant essentiellement place en début de résidence et s’articulant autour de multiples rencontres avec les divers professionnels en lien avec la jeunesse et avec des groupes d’habitants du territoire (éducateurs, animateurs, personnels soignant, travailleurs sociaux, enseignants, responsables associatifs, professionnels de la culture, etc ). Ces professionnels sont tous invités à appréhender la recherche et la production artistique de l’artiste-résident(e). Ces rencontres peuvent revêtir des formes extrêmement variées afin d’éviter tout caractère répétitif. Les acteurs rencontrés sont également sollicités, en ces instances ou à leur issue, pour évoquer avec l’artiste-résident la manière, sensible et inventive, dont ils aimeraient, le cas échéant, faire percevoir sa présence ainsi que celle de son oeuvre déjà accomplie aux publics qu’ils côtoient ou dont ils ont la responsabilité
– par une seconde phase au cours de laquelle se construisent entre l’ artiste-résident(e) et les divers professionnels déjà cités toutes sortes d’actions à mener en direction de leurs publics de référence. Ces actions que l’on appelle ici gestes artistiques sont conçues le plus souvent possible de manière à concerner un nombre significatif de personnes. Ces gestes artistiques sont également conçus en tenant particulièrement compte des contextes d’exercice des différents professionnels partenaires, de leurs différents degrés d’implication possibles ainsi que de ceux des habitants avec lesquels il sont en lien.
Ces actions se menant dans les différents temps des jeunes, ont pour objectif de permettre à un grand nombre d’ enfants, d’adolescents et de jeunes et au delà, des habitants du territoire, d’acquérir une expérience originale et sensible de l’œuvre. Ces actions peuvent avoir lieu aussi bien au sein des associations, des centres sociaux, des centres de loisirs, des structures culturelles, des établissements scolaires que dans l’espace public ou tout autre site qui paraîtra approprié à l’artiste-résident(e) et à ses partenaires locaux.
Période et durée de la résidence
La période de résidence est prévue du 15 novembre 2010 au 31 mars 2011. Avec interruption du 20 décembre 2010 au 2 janvier 2011, soit pendant la période de fin d’année.
Il s’agit donc d’une résidence de quatre mois à raison de cinq à six jours de présence par semaine.
Procédure à suivre pour la candidature
peut donc faire acte de candidature tout (e) artiste professionnel(le ), français(e) ou étranger(e).
· L’artiste candidat(e) doit avoir à son actif une production conséquente, et être en mesure de s’impliquer pleinement dans ce type particulier d’action que représente la résidence-mission.
· L’artiste candidat(e) doit maîtriser l’usage oral de la langue française.
· L’artiste candidat(e) doit détenir le permis de conduire et disposer d’un véhicule personnel.

Résidence au musée départemental de la Céramique
Résidence d’artiste contemporain au musée départemental de la Céramique à Lezoux- Conseil général du Puy-de-Dôme
Le musée départemental de la Céramique, ouvert depuis mars 2007, est un Musée de France installé dans une ancienne fabrique de poteries, grès et faïences du XIXe siècle. Son parcours de visite est construit autour des collections du site archéologique de Lezoux qui fut, durant l’Antiquité, l’un des grands centres de production de la céramique « sigillée ».

Objet de la résidence
a/- Conduite d’un projet de création :
Le musée souhaite accueillir en résidence un artiste qui conduit un projet de création utilisant comme médium la céramique. L’objectif est de proposer des moyens de création à un artiste maîtrisant la technique de la terre et possédant une approche originale de la céramique, ancrée dans les enjeux de la création actuelle.
b/- Rencontres avec le public :
En dehors du temps consacré à la création, des temps de rencontre avec le public seront organisés et notamment avec le jeune public, scolaire ou non. Ces interventions occuperont environ 35 % du temps de travail disponible dans le cadre de la résidence. À l’issue du séjour de l’artiste, ses pièces produites durant la résidence pourront faire l’objet d’une exposition dans le musée.

Critères de sélection
L’artiste sera sélectionné sur dossier, en fonction notamment de son approche originale de la céramique, de sa maîtrise de la technique de la terre, de son expérience dans la rencontre avec les publics.
Modalités
Un comité de sélection se réunira afin d’étudier les candidatures et de déterminer le candidat qui sera en résidence au musée en 2011. Ce comité de sélection est composé d’élus, de la conseillère aux arts plastiques de la Direction régionales des affaires culturelles (DRAC Auvergne), de représentants de L’Éducation Nationale, de professionnels du monde artistique, de responsables d’équipements artistiques et muséaux.

Le CRTC lance son rapport de surveillance sur les communications au Canada
Le CRTC annonce notamment que 52% des Canadiens anglophones et 44% des Candiens francophones ont regardé des émissions de télévision sur le web en 2009. Les revenus des services canadiens de communication ont encore augmenté pendant la denrière année pour atteindre 55,4 milliards de dollars. Les services de télécommunications ont quant à eux bénéficié d’une augmentation de revenus pour un total de 41 milliards de dollars.

L’influence des services sur large bande et autres services apparentés sur les revenus du secteur des communications est toujours considérable. Le présent rapport offre une image plus étoffée de la disponibilité de la large bande et des abonnements que ceux des années précédentes. Environ 95 % des ménages canadiens ont accès à des services sur large bande qui utilisent des installations terrestres. Les installations satellitaires étendent cet accès à presque tous les Canadiens et ne sont limitées que par des contraintes de capacité. À l’échelle provinciale, le service Internet terrestre sur large bande est offert à tous les ménages de trois provinces : le Nouveau-Brunswick, la Nouvelle-Écosse et l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard. Ailleurs au Canada, il est offert à au moins 92 % des foyers sauf à Terre-Neuve, où il ne rejoint que 78 % des ménages. Environ 96 % des Canadiens ont aussi accès à des services mobiles sur large bande par le biais d’appareils portables.
Croissance des revenus des services de communications
Les revenus des services canadiens de communication ont progressé de 2,1 % pour s’établir à 55,4 milliards de dollars, comparativement à 54,3 milliards de dollars en 2008. Cette croissance a été stimulée par l’augmentation de 3,0 % des revenus de radiodiffusion et de 1,8 % des revenus des télécommunications.
Radiodiffusion
Les revenus de radiodiffusion sont passés de 14,0 milliards de dollars en 2008 à 14,4 milliards de dollars en 2009. Cette croissance est attribuable à l’augmentation de 7,4 % des revenus des entreprises de distribution de radiodiffusion (EDR) qui sont passé de 6,9 à 7,5 milliards de dollars, et à celle de 6 % des services spécialisés et des services payants, de TVC et de VSD. Ces hausses ont été partiellement compensées par des chutes de 7,4 % et de 5,2 % des revenus de la télévision traditionnelle (y compris la SRC) et des revenus publicitaires de la radio respectivement.
Télécommunications
Les revenus des services de télécommunications ont progressé de 1,8 % pour s’établir à 41 milliards de dollars, comparativement à 40,3 milliards de dollars en 2008. Cette augmentation est attribuable d’une part aux nouveaux services (ou services non traditionnels) de transmission de données, d’autre part aux services sans fil et Internet sur large bande. Les revenus des services non traditionnels ont augmenté de 12,2 %, passant de 1,4 milliard de dollars à 1,5 milliard de dollars. Les revenus des services Internet sont passés de 6,2 milliards de dollars à 6,6 milliards de dollars, soit une croissance de 6,3 %. Les revenus du secteur du sans-fil ont progressé de 16,0 à 16,9 milliards de dollars – une hausse de 5,3 %. Ces hausses ont été partiellement compensées par le déclin de 7,1 % des revenus des appels interurbains (4,2 à 3,9 milliards de dollars), de 7,3 % des revenus des services traditionnels de transmission de données et de liaison spécialisée (3 à 2,8 milliards de dollars) et de 1,9 % des revenus des services traditionnels et d’accès (9,6 à 9,4 milliards de dollars).
L’industrie des télécommunications
En 2009, environ 34 % de la clientèle résidentielle était abonnée à des services groupés qui comprenaient la téléphonie locale et au moins un des services suivants : accès internet, vidéo et services mobiles. Environ 92 % des revenus issus des télécommunications provenaient des FST actifs dans tous les secteurs des télécommunications : téléphone local, interurbain, Internet, sans-fil, transmission de données et ligne directe. Les revenus des entreprises par câble provenaient à 67 % des services de télécommunications. De la même façon, les revenus des services de radiodiffusion ont représenté environ 6 % des revenus des compagnies de téléphone titulaires.
Au Canada, la convergence de l’industrie des communications modifie le paysage concurrentiel à mesure que les entreprises pénètrent dans leurs marchés non traditionnels réciproques (voir le graphique 3.1.8).
Concurrence La part des revenus totaux de télécommunications filaires affichée par les autres FST a continué à croître pour atteindre 37 % en 2009. La part de marché des autres FST comprend les activités que les compagnies de téléphone titulaires exercent hors de leurs territoires traditionnels (8 %), les activités des autres FST dotés d’installations, comme les entreprises de câblodistribution et les entreprises hydroélectriques, qui fournissent des services de télécommunication (23 %) et les activités des revendeurs (6 %).
Les grandes entreprises de câblodistribution ont joué un rôle capital dans la fourniture du service Internet à haut débit puisqu’elles affichent une proportion d’environ 56 % d’abonnés de résidence à Internet haute vitesse en 2009. En 2005, elles ont commencé à offrir des services téléphoniques locaux, généralement par gestion de réseau par IP. Toutefois, elles fournissaient près de 27 % des lignes téléphoniques résidentielles, s’imposant ainsi comme d’importantes concurrentes des compagnies de téléphone titulaires des marchés de résidence.
Les concurrents des compagnies de téléphone titulaires, y compris les compagnies de téléphone titulaires qui exercent leurs activités hors de leurs territoires traditionnels, ont maintenu leur part des revenus de télécommunications. Le nombre de lignes locales des concurrents, surtout des EDR par câble, a connu une forte croissance, augmentant de 12,5 %. Dans le marché des services d’affaires, la proportion de lignes offertes par la concurrence a augmenté de 4,8 %.
Radiodiffusion
Radio
En 2009, le Canada comptait 1 221 services radiophoniques et sonores, dont 41 numériques. De ce total, 75 % ciblaient la population canadienne anglophone, 22 %, la population canadienne francophone, 3 %, la population canadienne de langue tierce.
À l’échelle nationale, l’écoute hebdomadaire moyenne par habitant a diminué de 3,2 %, passant de 18,3 heures en 2008 à 17,7 heures en 2009. L’écoute hebdomadaire moyenne par auditeur a baissé de 2,5 %, passant de 20,0 à 19,5 heures.
Télévision
L’écoute globale des émissions canadiennes diffusées par les services canadiens anglophones a diminué de 2 % par rapport à 2008, s’établissant à 74 %, tandis que celle des émissions canadiennes diffusées par les services francophones est restée relativement stable à 99 %. Les émissions dramatiques et comiques demeurent les genres les plus populaires, mais leur contenu est principalement non canadien. En 2009, les émissions non canadiennes ont représenté 79 % et 68 % de l’écoute des émissions dramatiques et comiques de langue anglaise et de langue française respectivement.
EDR
En 2009, environ 11,3 millions ou 90 % des ménages canadiens étaient abonnés à une EDR pour son service de télévision, soit une hausse de 2,2 % par rapport à 2008. Parmi eux, 25 % étaient abonnés soit à une EDR par SRD, soit à une EDR par SDM. Les quatre EDR par câble les plus importantes et les deux services par SRD ont accaparé 89 % de toute la clientèle des EDR en 2009.
Les revenus mensuels de programmation des EDR par abonné1 ont augmenté de 2,78 $, ou 5 %, pour s’établir à 56,14 $ en 2009.
Radiodiffusion par les nouveaux médias
Un nombre croissant de Canadiens anglophones et francophones regarde des émissions vidéo sur le web (52 % et 44 % respectivement en 2009). De plus, davantage de Canadiens regardent la télévision en ligne. L’écoute hebdomadaire des émissions de télévision en ligne a été de 2,2 heures pour les anglophones et de 1,3 heure pour les francophones.
La population anglophone qui écoute la radio en continu sur le web a tendance à moins le faire que les francophones qui le font. Les anglophones passent 4,1 heures par semaine à écouter la radio AM ou FM en continu, comparativement à 4,6 heures pour les francophones.
