• Votre demande doit être dactylographiée, imprimée ou écrite en lettre moulée à l’encre noire pour en faciliter la reproduction.
• Votre demande dûment remplie ne doit être ni reliée, ni insérée dans des couvertures plastiques, ni agrafée.
• Les formulaires envoyés par télécopieur ou par courriel ne seront pas acceptés.

o Pour les oeuvres qui doivent être documentées à la fois sous la forme d’images fixes et en format vidéo, vous pouvez soumettre 10 images numériques et ajouter un fichier vidéo de cinq minutes.

Directives pour soumettre du matériel d’appui numérique
Les demandes comportant du matériel d’appui numérique qui ne satisfait pas aux exigences ci-dessous seront jugées incomplètes et donc retirées du concours.
• Utilisez des fichiers en format .jpg seulement.
• Soumettez des images d’une résolution de 72 dpi seulement.
• Soumettez des images n’excédant pas 1 024 x 768 pixels
• Identifiez chaque image de vos initiales suivies du numéro qui correspond à celui de la
liste de description détaillée ( NC01, NC02, etc.)
• Sauvegardez les images directement sur CD-ROM ou DVD sans créer de dossier.
• Indiquez clairement votre nom sur tous les CD-ROM et les DVD que vous
soumettez.
• Si vous soumettez un fichier vidéo : Le fichier doit pouvoir être visionné au moyen de
l’un des plugiciels suivants : QuickTime, RealPlayer.
À ne pas envoyer:
• des diapositives;
• de présentations, quelle que soit leur forme (de style PowerPoint);
• de fichiers compressés (au moyen de WinZip ou de Stuffit, par exemple);
• d’hyperliens menant à des sites Internet joints à vos images;
• de matériel nécessitant le téléchargement ou l’installation d’un logiciel, d’un plugiciel,
d’une extension ou d’autres programmes exécutables;

Assurez-vous que votre matériel d’appui fonctionne bien avant de le soumettre. C’est à vous qu’il incombe de veiller à ce que toute votre documentation parvienne à La Maison des artistes intacte et dans un format approprié.

Inscrivez votre film à la 25e édition du Festival international du cinéma francophone en Acadie!
Il est temps pour tous les réalisateurs, producteurs et distributeurs de films francophones de soumettre leurs œuvres pour la 25e édition du Festival international du cinéma francophone en Acadie (FICFA) qui se déroulera du 17 au 26 novembre 2011.
Le formulaire d’inscription sera disponible sur le site Web du FICFA au www.ficfa.com à partir du 6 juin. La date limite pour soumettre votre film est le jeudi 25 août 2011. Seuls sont admissibles les films et vidéos issus de pays ou de régions membres de la Francophonie, produit au plus tard en 2010 et n’étant pas sorti en salle avant l’automne 2010, qui n’ont pas été soumis auparavant au FICFA et qui n’ont pas été diffusés à la télévision au Canada (sauf exception pour les films acadiens). Une fois votre inscription en ligne effectuée, merci de nous faire parvenir une copie de visionnement à l’adresse suivante :

Programmation / Espace [im] média

Espace [im] média, depuis sa première édition à l’automne 2007, est devenu l’unique manifestattion d’envergure en art médiatique en Estrie. À ce titre, elle vise à témoigner, à la fois, d’une pratique professionnelle possible et réelle de l’art médiatique dans notre région et de la nécessité de la situer, dans un contexte plus large, favorisant non seulement son développement, mais aussi le positionnement du travail des artistes de notre région sur la scène nationale et possiblement internationale.
L’évènement Espace [im] média s’articule autour d’une programmation mixte, à la fois par la nature des oeuvres présentées, performances audio vidéo, projections monobandes, installations audio-vidéo, que par le choix des artistes invités. Espace [im] média se veut un lieu d’expérimentation et de questionnement favorisant l’échange, voire la confrontation, entre les oeuvres d’artistes émergents et d’artistes établis, d’ici et d’ailleurs.
Il est possible de soumettre un maximum de trois vidéos.
Vous devez possèder les droits d’auteurs autant au niveau de l’image que de la trame sonore.
Des vidéos expérimentale non-narratives sont souhaitées.
Durée minimale de 2 minutes et maximales de 8 minutes.

Une collaboration entre le Sommet mondial Écocité 2011, SDC Vieux-Montréal et DARE-DARE

Annonce des propositions artistiques retenues : début juillet 2011
Le Sommet mondial Écocité s’associe au centre de diffusion d’art multidisciplinaire de Montréal DARE-DARE et
à la Société de Développement Commercial Vieux-Montréal pour présenter l’événement artistique Écocité ; sur
le terrain. Celui-ci compte célébrer pendant 5 jours la diversité des nouvelles pratiques artistiques qui
investissent des contextes non traditionnels, en présentant une série de projets éphémères conçus
spécifiquement pour faire résonner les enjeux d’écoresponsabilité défendues lors de cette rencontre. Ainsi,
Écocité ; sur le terrain compte profiter de la présence à Montréal de nombreux experts internationaux, issus de
divers domaines professionnels, qui participeront à ce sommet en identifiant de nouvelles avenues afin de
mieux concilier l’humanité, l’écologie et l’urbanité.
Mise en contexte :
Du 22 au 26 août 2011, au Palais des Congrès de Montréal, se réuniront plus de 1000 délégués de tous les
continents pour une conférence internationale sur la ville écoresponsable de demain. Cette année, le Sommet
mondial Écocité est organisé par le Centre d’écologie urbaine de Montréal et ses partenaires. C’est dans le
cadre de cet événement qu’un comité a élaboré un volet artistique pour lequel est lancé le présent appel de
propositions.
Arts, culture et engagement écologique
La transformation de nos villes constitue un acte créatif à grande échelle. Tout le monde doit pouvoir imaginer
et façonner l’écocité de demain (une ville plus responsable) au fur et à mesure de son évolution. Dans le cadre
d’Écocité 2011, le milieu des arts, de la culture et l’environnement s’associeront pour partager leurs visions et
leurs actions sur l’écosociété de demain. Ces contributions diverses, à la fois à l’intérieur du Palais des congrès
(conférences interactives, ateliers, tables rondes, affiches, etc.) qu’à l’extérieur de ses murs (événement
Écocité ; sur le terrain et découverte de l’écocité émergente de Montréal), renforcent le Sommet Mondial
Écocité et permet son adaptation, de la même façon que la biodiversité dans un écosystème.
Écoresponsabilité
Le Sommet Mondial Écocité 2011 a pour objectif d’être un événement zéro déchet et carboneutre, pour limiter
son empreinte écologique sur Montréal. Les propositions artistiques seront conçues pour : limiter l’utilisation
de ressources non écoresponsables, promouvoir la valorisation des matières résiduelles, réduire la mise en
décharge des déchets ultimes, ne pas endommager l’espace public, encourager la gestion durable des forêts,
limiter les émissions de gaz à effet de serre (GES).

Programme des expositions 2013-2014
Québec, arrondissement de Beauport, le jeudi, 2 juin 2011- La Société d’art et d’histoire de Beauport est actuellement en processus de cueillette de dossiers en vue de préparer son programme d’expositions 2013-2014. Les projets sélectionnés seront présentés à la salle Jean Paul-Lemieux de la bibliothèque Étienne-Parent, 3515, rue Clemenceau, dans l’arrondissement de Beauport.
Considérée comme une des plus belles salles d’exposition pour la grande région de Québec, l’espace est en mesure d’accueillir des projets d’envergure, avec la possibilité d’accrocher des oeuvres de grands formats ou une quantité importante de pièces de plus petites dimensions. Qu’il s’agisse d’expositions en solo ou des collectifs thématiques, tous les projets seront évalués selon des critères artistiques ciblant la qualité.
Les projets en sculpture et en métiers d’art sont aussi acceptés.
Les artistes sont donc invités à présenter leur dossier en y incluant :
– Un texte de présentation du projet d’exposition.
– Une présentation de la démarche artistique.
– Un c.v. du parcours artistique (pour les collectifs, un c.v. par artiste participant)
– Une dizaine d’images représentatives du travail du créateur (au moins 3 images par artiste
pour les projets en collectif).
Présenté sur cédérom avec une copie papier du dossier (sauf pour les images).

La Galerie d’art de Matane est un centre d’exposition en art actuel. Son mandat : la diffusion, la promotion et la vulgarisation de l’art actuel. Elle diffuse des expositions d’une durée de 6 semaines en moyenne. Elle ne privilégie pas de pratique en particulier mais mise sur la diversité des pratiques et aime la nouveauté.

Soumettez votre œuvre originale vidéo ou film de moins de 3 minutes avant le 23 août 2011 au concours du Prix du très court-métrage GEORGES-LAOUN-OPTICIEN-OBORO!
Les œuvres des six finalistes seront diffusées dans la vitrine de l’opticien Georges Laoun au 4012, rue Saint-Denis, à Montréal, et ailleurs au Québec au cours de l’automne 2011. Le nom du lauréat ou de la lauréate sera dévoilé-e le soir du cocktail de lancement.
Les finalistes recevront chacun 100$, et le lauréat ou la lauréate se verra remettre un prix en argent de 500$, ainsi que 1 500$ d’accès en équipement et aux studios du Laboratoire nouveaux médias d’OBORO.
Votre proposition doit inclure:
– une copie DVD d’un court-métrage de moins de 3 minutes réalisé après le 1er janvier 2011 ;
– un bref texte de présentation de l’œuvre ;
– le curriculum vitæ ainsi qu’une courte biographie de l’artiste;
– une enveloppe affranchie pour le retour de dossiers*.

L’extase
Folie/Culture, organisme en art actuel qui suscite la réflexion sur des questions de santé mentale en empruntant des pistes de recherche inusitées, vous invite à soumettre vos projets les plus fous ! Vous êtes artiste professionnel ou un collectif d’artistes et vous avez des idées surprenantes, indomptables, extravagantes ? ça pourrait nous séduire ! Par son mandat ouvert, Folie/Culture favorise la pluridisciplinarité mais est également sensible à toutes les pratiques artistiques.
La spiritualité, la religion, la recherche du sens de la vie sont des notions importantes pour de nombreuses personnes aux prises avec des problèmes émotifs. Nous désirons aborder ces conceptions par la thématique de l’extase. Dans la quête du sens, les réponses viennent indifféremment de la raison pure ou des dérives de la raison. Or, quels sont les chemins de l’extase aujourd’hui ? Comment nommer et qualifier le retour du religieux, la génération spontanée de nouvelles églises et sectes, les pratiques corporelles du corps exalté, le refus de la raison, la montée du créationnisme, parallèlement à la croissance exponentielle des réseaux sociaux sur la toile sociale ?
Nous supposons, avec un brin d’ironie, que la vie est une pratique extatique et qu’il convient ici d’en explorer d’autres.
Nous vous demandons d’envoyer vos propositions pour :
1 / Appel de projets de performances pour la soirée de performances Extase, un chien écrasé qui scintille, prévue en mars 2012.

2 / Appel de projets de toutes disciplines (excluant la performance) pour l’évènement international Extase, la vie et autres pratiques extatiques, qui se déroulera les 18, 19 et 20 octobre 2012.
La sélection des projets se fera à l’automne 2011. Folie/Culture assurera le bouclage financier pour les projets ayant été retenus. Notez que nous n’avons pas de locaux ni d’équipement de production ou de diffusion, ce qui nous oblige à travailler en étroites collaborations et à réinventer les lieux de diffusion.

Sixième exposition internationale d’estampe numérique miniature APPEL AUX ARTISTES Du 5 novembre au 10 décembre 2011 Nous invitons tous les artistes professionnels à participer à la SIXIÈME EXPOSITION INTERNATIONALE D’ESTAMPE NUMÉRIQUE MINIATURE, qui se tiendra à Ottawa (Canada) du 5 novembre au 10 décembre 2011. On demande aux artistes de soumettre leurs estampes numériques de 25 cm par 20 cm (jusqu’à deux par artiste) au plus tard le 30 juin 2011. L’édition 2011 de l’exposition porte le thème Le corps transformé. Le texte expliquant le thème se retrouve sur le site web cité ci-dessous. L’artiste doit remplir le formulaire et rédiger un court texte faisant le lien entre l’oeuvre présentée et le thème de l’exposition. La commissaire, Katy Le Van, fera la sélection des oeuvres pour l’exposition et un jury composé de trois artistes réputés décernera trois prix en argent et des mentions d’honneur. aceartinc is dedicated to cultural diversity in its programming and to this end encourages applications from contemporary artists and curators identifying as members of GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered), Aboriginal (status, non-status, Inuit and Metis) and all other culturally diverse communities. encourages proposals from individuals, groups and collectives in all visual arts media.
Regular Programming submissions are solicited through a general annual international call with a deadline of August 2nd.
The Selection Committee reviews submissions within the context of aceartinc’s mandate and goals and makes recommendations to the board within 4 weeks of the deadline. [The Selection Committee is comprised of the Programming Coordinator, 1-2 Board Members, and 2 Community Members.]
The program is based on aceartinc’s available material or personnel resources. will pay CARCC fees to artists exhibiting through Regular Programming. The Courvoisier Collective is seeking artwork submissions to be displayed on billboards and on PATH posters around the City of Toronto. In addition, runner-up submissions will be showcased in an exhibition at Gallery 1313, located at 1313 Queen Street West, from August 10 – September 4, 2011. The billboard winners will be selected by a jury of art curators and those pieces shown at the gallery will be chosen on the basis of jury votes and online votes.
Artists are asked to explore the theme of ‘Renewal’ in relation to the revolutionary role of art. The theme can be addressed in two contexts: 1) with respect to art’s capacity to revolutionize its own content and form, and/or 2) art’s potential to challenge the status quo.
Submitted artwork can use media such as photography, painting, mixed media, and printmaking. Submissions are to be sent through www.courvoisiercollective.com and require the inclusion of one (1) image in digital JPG, GIF, TIF, PNG format of the artwork, a title for the submission, an artist statement, dimensions, medium and all contact information indicated on the submission page.

Film Pop! is the film and multimedia section of the Pop Montreal International Music Festival, which celebrates its 10th edition from September 21-25th. In addition to premieres of new music-related features, we will also be showcasing short films, slideshows, repertory curated packages and more, and we are currently accepting submissions for three components of the Film Pop! program, as described below.
There is no entry fee, and arrive-by deadline is Friday June 3, 2011. All submissions must be accompanied by a submission form. All submissions must be Montreal premieres and have been created after Oct.1, 2010.

1) Feature films and short films
Feature film submissions (52min +) can be documentaries about specific artists, labels, musical genres, movements or current issues related to music, or they may be narrative films with a strong musical component. Short film submissions should follow these same guidelines, with special preference given to short films that may fit into our proposed special program ‘Remake/Remodel’, a curated package of D.I.Y. dramatizations and unauthorized bio-pics of real musicians.
Feature and Short Film submissions must be sent on playable DVD. Other than the submission form and the DVD, no additional materials are required at this stage. If selected, we will contact you for images and any other press materials.
2) Slideshows
Among Film Pop’s special presentations for our 10th anniversary will be a slideshow program in which artists have 3-10minutes to present a live 35mm slideshow of their own creation. Slideshows can utilize a mixture of image and text, original and found images, and be accompanied by pre-recorded music, live narration, or live music (technical requirements permitting).
You do not need to physically submit a completed slideshow by the June 3 deadline, but you must submit a 250-word abstract, as well as 3 examples of past film/video/visual arts work. With your abstract please list any special technical requirements for your slideshow that exceed the standard set-up of 35mm slide projector, screen and CD player.
3) Installations
Film Pop! is accepting film/video-based installations with a musical focus for exhibition in our pop-up shop. The work may consist of several parts but must work as one unified piece. Preference will be given to installations with reasonable spacial and technical requirements, although if the artist is able to identify potential co-presenters who will assist with material and technical expenses, it is appreciated, and will help with the selection process.
By the June 3 deadline, artists must submit a 250-word description of the installation, photos of any previous exhibitions of the installation, as well as an itemized list of technical and material requirements (including electrical outlets, methods and volume of amplification, screens, video/film projectors, video decks, projected shipping costs for any materials) and the dimensions of the piece. Please note this installation will be sharing the space (roughly 1000-1200 square feet) with evening events, daytime screenings and media booths.

The terminus is the end, the boundary, and the border; of course the terminus is also a beginning as well as its own place, its own site of experience and encounter.
Ethnographic Terminalia is an initiative that brings artists and anthropologists together to engage emerging research through installation and exhibition. As a platform from which divergent modes and methodologies of inquiry are articulated, Ethnographic Terminalia asks what lies within and beyond disciplinary territories, and how those boundaries shape the representation of cultural practice. Organized as a para-site to the annual Meetings of the American Anthropological Association, the gallery show will take place in Montréal, Canada, at Eastern Bloc Centre for New Media and Interdisciplinary Art (14-20 November 2011). Now in its third year, Ethnographic Terminalia represents a diversity of material, conceptual, and creative engagements with art and anthropology, capturing a multiplicity of mediums where anthropology and art intersect. These include: sound, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, video, film, internet and multi-media, and engage both gallery spaces and site-specific locations.
Panamanian artist Humberto Vélez has accepted our invitation to anchor the 2011 exhibition with a video documentation of his collaborative work, The Awakening. The Awakening activates questions at the heart of collaboration, ethnographic methods of investigation, and aesthetic production emerging from his “Aesthetics of Collaboration” project developed with curator Emelie Chhangur at the Art Gallery of York University, the Mississauga New Credit First Nations, and Monkey Vault Gym Parkour artists in Toronto, Canada. In Ethnographic Terminalia 2011, Vélez’s work will be exhibited alongside work selected by the curatorial collective, and works produced by our local partnering organizer, Concordia University’s Center for Ethnographic Research and Exhibition in the Aftermath of Violence (CEREV), http://cerev.concordia.ca/.
We seek projects in any medium for inclusion in Ethnographic Terminalia 2011 that take up the theme: field, studio, lab. These three locations––the field, the studio, the lab––comprise both their own communities of practice, and form sites of inquiry and production for artists and anthropologists. Field, studio, and lab are not only places where knowledge is produced, or ethnographic data gathered, but are spaces of everyday life and local cultural production; they are generative sites of encounter, negotiation, conflict, celebration, failure, disappointment and revelation—all of which can unsettle (or ossify) discursive, disciplinary, and methodological boundaries.

This exciting dimension of the exhibition traces out the larger conversation around the exhibition, providing public visibility for projects that are not installed in the gallery due to logistics and space.

If you are unable to work with these dates please indicate this in your proposal so that alternative arrangements can be made. Artists are invited to submit works for the 2011 exhibition
Sponsored by ING Wholesale Banking, this is an exhibition of small works independently selected by six prominent figures from the art world: two artists, two collectors and two critics.
The 2011 selectors will include: Artists, Eileen Cooper RA and Lisa Wright; Collectors, John Pluthero (Chairman, Cable & Wireless Worldwide and founder of abstract critical) and John Deston (Gallery Manger, The Mall Galleries, London) and critics, Ossian Ward (Visual Arts Editor, Time Out, London) and Brian Sewell (Art Critic). They will each select and curate their own section of the exhibition.
The uniqueness of having each work chosen by an eminent individual, unlike in a group selected show, has earned the exhibition an excellent reputation among art lovers and collectors alike. Work is selected by open submission and also from artists invited by the selectors. The works of lesser-known artists are given the opportunity to hang alongside the work of more established artists helping to connect hundreds of new artists with new audiences.
Painting, prints, drawing, photography and sculpture are accepted, the only criteria being that works should not exceed 20 inches in their largest dimension and that all works must be for sale. Artists may submit up to six works. An exhibition of selected works will take place at The Mall Galleries, London from 10 – 20 November 2011.

Thami Mnyele Foundation_Open Call for Artist in Residence.

Established in 1992, the Thami Mnyele Foundation runs a unique three month artists-in-residence program in Amsterdam. The main objective of the Foundation is to advance cultural exchange between artists from Africa, the Netherlands and Amsterdam in particular. The Thami Mnyele Foundation is offering an urban, loft-style apartment plus studio to African visual artists for residencies of 3 months in duration. Applicants can use this space and time for research, reflection, networking and/or production.
We will provide return ticket, free accommodation and a 850 euro a month honorarium.
The Thami Mnyele Foundation apartment is fully furnished and includes a kitchen, a bathroom with shower, a double bed, a double futon/couch. All linens and cooking utensils are provided. The apartment is located on the second floor of an old school building in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Artists from Africa or Diaspora at all stages of their careers are encouraged to apply.
Equal consideration will be given to emerging and established artists.

We call …
For six artists from the fields of new media (musicians, dancers-performers, video artists, photographers, e.t.c.) wishing to participate in our 10 day residency in Greece creating a collective work that will be performed at the Onassis Cultural Center (www.sgt.gr) in Athens Greece. We will consider both the quality of the submitted work, and evidence of the willingness to both cooperate across art-forms, and contribute to the collective project.
The residency
Since 2009 the artist collective Medea Electronique has organizes annually a 10 day experimental artist residency, Koumaria, near Sparta in Greece, focusing on improvisation and new media practices. Avant-garde artists from all over the world, inspired by the Greek natural landscape, create a multicultural and cross-media ‘dialogue’ culminating in a collective presentation in Athens at the end of the residency.
The goal of the residency is the creation of an educational experience for the participants that will inspire and exalt their future work. The cross-cultural dialogues that the residency engenders both create new artistic speculations and smelt older assumptions. Past residents have formed both lasting friendships and new artistic partnerships. Medea Electronique, being an eclectic art collective, is interested in people from diverse cultural and artistic backrounds. For us the residency serves as a model for future creative endeavors.
The residency is held at an organic olive oil farm at the foot of Mount Taigetos in Sparta. The residency, a modern and comfortable house, features dormitory-style bedrooms, large and comfortable common rooms (featuring fireplaces and magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and fields), two primary spaces for project development and practice, terraces, rooftop overlooks, and a large and modern kitchen. The surrounding hills, mountains, villages and the not too distant sea, coupled with a vast expanse of sky, stars, and ever-changing mountain vistas, afford the residents amble space and opportunity for creative work. Meals are taken communally, with an emphasis on fresh and local produce and traditional recipes. In this environment artists not only have the chance to live and work together in interaction with the Greek landscape but also to interchange their experiences on everyday life and culture.
The theme
This year, we decided to give the residency a theme. Rising from the core of the multicultural dialogue created each year at Koumaria, as well as the very nature of improvisation we decided to experiment on the meanings of identity and the ways we express it. Emanating from social phenomena such as globalization and cultural imperialism, as well as everyday life events, identity is at the center of many contemporary debates.
Giving questions as: what makes us different and what links us? What makes us what we are and what we are not? How easy is to adopt another identity or not? Who makes us who we are? We expect prospective residents to send some thoughts and ideas concerning possible improvisational projects on this theme. The Presentation
This year the presentation of Koumaria will be done in a three level basis named respectively: passport to experimentation, the experiment, you can do it…
1) Small presentations of resident’s individual work (approx. 15 minutes of material) in any form they like (video, concert, performance, talk).This presentation must be submitted in advance of arrival at Koumaria.
2) Up to 5 communal projects that will be created in Koumaria based on ideas submitted to Medea Electronique prior to arrival at Koumaria (dead line 1st of September)
3) Workshops that will be commissioned to some specific residents.

Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, Ireland (deadline: September 30, 2011)
The Artists’ Residency Programme studios are programmed approximately a year in advance. There are eight studio spaces, four upstairs studios and four larger downstairs spaces. Each studio has the possibility of accompanying accommodation space, either in self-contained apartments over the studios or in the accommodation block, the Flanker Building, which can house five artists at a time. The artist’s presence on the Programme is funded in terms of studio/accommodation, relevant administrative back-up and a bursary of €400 per month for the duration of the residency. Specific proposals may necessitate extra fund-raising with which the Museum may assist.
In the near future IMMA will confirm just one application deadline yearly to the ARP. During 2010 the ARP at IMMA is reviewing and changing its application and programming structure, this means that the application deadlines, 31 March and 30 September yearly, are now permanently suspended.

Calling individual artists, creators, interested in 2 weeks to 1 month in the country at “Imagine” retreat. “Imagine” is located in rural NSW Australia, in the Great Lakes District, 3 hours North of Sydney.

Time and space in the country for 2 to 4 weeks of creative development and work.
This will be a time of creative space on farm land on the mid-north coast of Australia which is one of the holiday destinations for Sydneysiders in the summer months. Facing the spectacular views of the lake this is a space to feel free enough to focus on whatever project you aspire to as an artist. Conducive to creativity, will provide working facilities, ready to be used by individual visiting artists to stay and work ‘for art’s sake’
Creativity, Peace
The retreat exists to allow artists time to work without distractions. Located in a rural area, and there is no public interaction ( rules prohibiting anyone from interrupting artists in their studios between 9:00 and 5:00).
Travelling
Travel to and from the residency is to be paid by the artists. Time frame 28 days for full development of project and a showing of work. Artists in residence at any one time 2 to 5 residents.
“Art For Arts Sake”
Artist-in-residence programs are an opportunity to allow visiting artists to stay and work ‘for art’s sake’. The environment being conducive to creativity and working facilities, ready to be used by individual artists.
Applications
Open to artists from all nations, artists are requested to send in documentation, a curriculum vitae, a motivation and a necessary a project proposal.

• Description: Co-sponsored by the Henry Radford Hope School of Fine arts and the Collins Living-Learning Center, Indiana University’s Program for International Visiting Artist-in-Residence (PIVA) hosts one emerging international artist/scholar during the second eight-week session of each fall and spring semester. Artists/Scholars live among the students and teach a studio practice course for Fine Arts and a theory course for the Collins Living-Learning Center. The Studio course meets two days a week for 2 hours and 45 minutes each day. This is a hands-on course teaching techniques and related concepts in any media you are expert in. The theory course meets two days a week for 75 minutes each day having an international scope which focuses on contemporary and cultural criticism. Artists/Scholars will also give an artist’s talk and are invited to exhibit work in progress.

Sarah Petite, artiste de Fredericton, remporte le prix CARFAC de défense des arts visuels
Mardi 7 juin 2011 – L’association canadienne des artistes en arts visuels (CARFAC) a annoncé aujourd’hui que l’artiste de Fredericton Sarah Petite a remporté le Prix CARFAC de défense des arts visuels. Ce prix récompense un(e) artiste professionnel(le) ayant contribué de façon importante à la communauté canadienne des arts visuels. Sarah Petite a consacré près de dix ans de bénévolat au service des artistes en arts visuels, entre autres à titre de présidente de CARFAC Maritimes de 2006 à 2009. Parallèlement, elle a poursuivi ses activités d’artiste professionnelle, d’organisatrice d’ateliers et de porte-parole de la communauté des arts.
« Durant près d’une décennie, Sarah a défendu les artistes de façon exceptionnellement active, sur le plan régional et national, par son engagement au sein de CARFAC National et de CARFAC Maritimes », a déclaré Michael Pittman, membre du jury et représentant de CARFAC Terre-Neuve et Labrador.
La remise du Prix CARFAC de défense des arts visuels s’insère dans le programme du congrès annuel des artistes en arts visuels du Canada.

Sarah Petite
Établie à Fredericton, au New Brunswick, Sarah Petite, durant près de 10 ans, a conseillé les artistes professionnels des Maritimes à propos de leurs droits ainsi que du droit d’auteur. Après être devenue présidente de CARFAC Nouveau-Brunswick en 2002, elle a joué un rôle crucial dans le regroupement d’artistes du Nouveau-Brunswick, de Nouvelle-Écosse et de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard pour fonder CARFAC Maritimes – qui est devenu le bureau régional de l’association nationale des artistes en arts visuels.
En tant que présidente de CARFAC Maritimes, Sarah Petite a sensibilisé des organismes de charité à l’éthique des enchères d’œuvres d’art, a compilé une base de données des musées, des galeries et des organismes du milieu artistique, a aidé à l’organisation du congrès national de CARFAC (Wired Studios Branchés) à Fredericton, tout en fournissant de nombreux services aux membres. Elle a également créé un comité francophone afin d’améliorer les services aux artistes francophones de la région. En collaboration avec l’Association acadienne des artistes professionnels(elles) du Nouveau-Brunswick, Sarah Petite a envoyé une lettre ouverte aux galeries et musées publics des Maritimes concernant les droits d’exposition payables aux artistes. Et tout cela, elle l’a accompli de façon bénévole !
Sarah Petite est une peintre à l’encaustique dont le travail a été exposé partout au Canada. Ses œuvres figurent dans plusieurs collections publiques et privées, jusqu’en Nouvelle-Zélande. Elle a été mise en nomination pour ce prix par la présidente de CARFAC Maritimes, Susan Tooke, et l’artiste Richard Rudnicki. « Sans Sarah Petite et son profond engagement envers l’organisme, CARFAC Maritimes n’existerait tout simplement pas », a rappelé Susan Tooke.
Prix CARFAC National de défense des arts visuels
Le premier prix décerné dans cette catégorie a été décerné en 2008 à Kim Ondaatje et Tony Urquhart à l’occasion de la célébration du 40e anniversaire de CARFAC. Sous leur gouverne, une nouvelle ère de militantisme artistique était née… avec ce prix, nous rendons hommage à tous les accomplissements des artistes qui, par la suite, ont amélioré la condition socio-économique des artistes en arts visuels ainsi que le bien-être de la communauté des arts visuels en général. C’est Marlene Creates, de Portugal Cove, à Terre-Neuve, qui a été notre lauréate en 2009, et Todd Janes, d’Edmonton, en Alberta, fut celui de 2010.
